fitted my new sensors to the drivers front after i plugd it in to a machine and it instructed this side. fitted te new one. spot on! light came on for a few seconds brake pedal pulsd slightly then light went out. went down the road just as i was about to come to a stop (under light braking not slamming brakes on) the brtake pedal started pulsing and the abs activated. the abs activates all the time just as im about to stop or driving at crawling speed, on the way home from work the abs light then came on at about 20mph and stayed lit untill i turned the car of and re started. ? what do you think? really scratching my head over this one

been trying to get to the problem of this for a while. basicly my G60 feals sluggish and then all of a sudden it goes, i have no boost leaks and a healthy charger, the old genuine lambda was looking abit old and the wires chaffed, in the boot i found a new lambda (aftermarket) i checkd the oart numbers out and it was the correct one for my car, fitted it and it seams to sort it......then after a few hundred miles back to normal, i have replaced the blue and black water temp sensors. basicly the owner before has cut the engine harness where it connects to the lambda sensor, and then crimpd small speaker terminals onto the lambda sensor connector. I took the wires of and noted where they came from but as i didnt cut the wires i am can not be 100% sure they are in the correct place, can someone tell me what colour wire should go to what terminal on the plug? i know it might be hard to explain. if needed i can go and see what colour wires of the engine lambda harness s connected to the lambda harness if this helps? thanks simon p.s. i want to make sure these are the correct way around first then i think im going to get a genuine vag lambda sensor.

jubilee clip what? where would i place the jubilee clip? chears simon looks like im of to the motor factors then tomoz to get one, basicl my alternator lights packd up and ive checkd the charge but its up down all over the place. simon

my alternators packd up today, what cars can i get it of from the scrapy? mines a k reg G60 corrado chears simon also are they easy to fit? have i got to remove the charger? and how do you remove the tensioner and then reinstall it with ease? thanks

but isnt the other two pipes (feed and reurn) go far back under the car? chears

this might be all ready know but thought id post it, whilst doing the heater matrix today and general tidying up under the bonnet i ran it up and noticed some smoke, quickly turnd of and had a nose about, i noticed that the fuel pressure reg on the injector rail furthest side away from cambelt. there was a small pipe about 6inchs ish that kind of bends round of the injector rail to some sort of switch, i muct have knocked this and it was driping fuel out onto my inlet manifold and exhaust manifold, i replaced the pipe and used two new jubilee clips and its sorted the problem i hope. just thought id let people know if they didnt all ready,

done the test with a multimeter on 2k ohms setting and got these results: pasanger rear: 1.05 drivers rear: 1.03 passangers front: 1.09 but the drivers front wouldnt register on this setting, kept reading 1. which is what the multimeter reads as standerd untill you connect it up etc. however i changed the setting on the multimeter to 2M and the drivers front registerd 900 and carryd on climbing up to 1240, 1343, 1400 etc etc and carryd on rising, am i correct in saying that the fault lies in the drivers front sensor? thanks again simon

thanks alot matey! really appreciate the fast response guys will chec them out now and see whats what. simon

so if i compare resistance do i have to have the car jackd up on the sensor im checking and spin the wheel slightly? also electrics kind of confuse me, do i want high resistance or low resistance? can you give me some sort of figure to look for if the sensor is ok? lol sorry just resistance confuses me a little bit chears simon

pulld up at the shop turnd of, got back into it and went to drive of and noticed the abs light didnt go out. it stays on, unfortuently i havnt got access to the 2x2 obd pin connecter, is there another way of checking the system? can i check for resitance? and what shouold the resistance read? also i just checkd n gsf website for a rogh price for a sensor and they only list fronts, do the corrados only have front sensors? the cars a 1992 K reg G60 thanks

erm yea bout 3-4000rpm

right ive searched through the search's and i think ive narrowed i down, basicly every now and again ill go to put my foot down in my G60 and it lacks power. you really have to wind it up and then all of a sudden its back in and boosts really well. ive checkd all my boost hoses etc and they are all tight and nice and secure. at this moment in time i my old lambda sensor had broken wires (OE part) and the previous owner cut the engine loom plug of and used crimps, so at the moment it has got an after market lambda sensor on it with crimpd terminals that sit into after market sensor;s plug. (if you know what i mean?) i have read up and found a huge amount of people on here have had trouble with aftermarket sensors, does it sound like this lil things at fault? anyway to test? thanks simon

anyone?
-
just checking my levels etc earlier and notice on the charger the left hand side as you look at the engine bay, the pipe that comes of and goes to the air filter has a split in it, i saw a while back a alloy one for sale that bolts onto the charger insted of the rubber hose and then you put your cone filter on this, anyone know where i can get hold of one, been searchin all over the place but cant find one, chears simon
-
on the bay is a newman camshaft for 8valve vw engines with hydraulic tappets, they list the 268degree cam and 272 degree cam? anyone used these? im thinking of one for my G60 is it worth it? they are 150 plus postage
-
if you have no recipts for one being done, whilst you have the dash out ill change it mate, as they either weap water or worse case scenereo they explode, they are only 33quid from GSF for a valeo one so whilst the dash is out id do it, as they are a abit of a nightmere to do with the dash in at a later date mate. simon

has anybody else got a g60? can other people conferm what numbers they have on there fan control unit? this would help alot thanks

nope, no tow bar fitted or any signs of one being fitted, not an automatic. and cant really see england being extremly hot. will get on the phone tomoz and see whats what. chears for the info dude appreciate it. simon

my old mk1's had like a plastic bung in there, but then again my last mk1 didnt have it there, its basicly just a dust cover, im not sure if my g60 has it there ill go and check and let you know later mate. not a major matter of life or death really so dont lose sleep over it, but id get one in there sooner rather then later mate as it stops water/coolent if you have a sudden leek going down the hole and contaminating your clutch. simon

ahhhhhhh i seeeeee. wicked thats sortd my fan problem then. my temp gauge was crap, so i replaced the blue and black senders which improved the running of it dramaticly! so i thought i may aswell do that one as the fan seems a bit lazy. where can i get a fusable link for that from? looks a bit diffrent to normal links as the holes for the screws are kind of on a 90degree of part. simon chears guys!

are they on coil pack? or a coil? next time it does it (if your not holding up a junction etc) take the plug lead of and spin it over with a seperat spark plug and see if you are getting a spark? could possibly be a faulty coil? i made a right dudey tool up for this job, it consits of a sparkplug, with a crocadile clip, the threaded part of the plug i used a jubilee clip and tightend it on to the metal crocidile clip, then this allows you to plug the lead on to the plug and clip the plug to earth using the crocidile clip and crank it over on your own with your head pearing round the bonnet to see if it sparks. might not be a coil pack, just thought id put a suggestion in to try and help you out matey. simon
