sim0n_parker replied to sim0n_parker's topic in Interior
tthat sounds abit too easy. so once the roofs in situation etc and ive sorted that out i can easily get the inner sunroof cover that covers up the underside of the sunroof in place easily? chears matey simon -
right basicly my sunroof mechanisms turnd up today 8) and ive noticed that the sunroof lid (part that you can see outside colour coded to your car) comes away from the mechanisms, but as i was removing it it all slid about...... :( oh no i thought, looks like im going to have fun to try and align all this up i said to my self. so my question is... is there an easy way of aligning the actual lid part of the roof onto the mechanism? how should it sit? im a newbie to these corrados and still learning as i go along. thanks alot, and i apoligise again for bringing another dreaded sunroof question up.. if there is alink to this then please forward it to me and also give me a slap. chears simon

also make sure they dont leave windscreen sealent appearing on the inside of the glass, they fittd one on a corrado for me b4 and it seaped through, you could see it in the corner of the screen, as said above, make sure they go round and check your car b4 and sign a sheet before work starts. simon

track rod end seized, locknuts?? help please
sim0n_parker replied to sim0n_parker's topic in Drivetrain
oh yea, also what is the correct tracking settings on a G60, its been lowerd approx 40mm (ish) simon -
hi there, went to get the tracking done on the G60 earlier but the lad down there struggled to get the locknut of as it was seized on, so i went away and freed it of as much as possible but he still struggled, so im going down to get new track rod ends on monday as they arnt expensive anyway, but the locknut that locks it on to the track rod arm has seen better days, looks like someone has slipd a few times with the spanner, so where can i get the locknut from? i would prefer it if i can replace them aswell as i can see me spending a few hours on it on monday with the molegrips and i think i will knacker them up. chears simon

soon i shall be after some new shoes for the G60, i have 15's on at the moment and personaly i think they look a tad to small so i have been looking at borbet A's. what sizes can you get these in, the thing is, i use it as my everyday car, and in the past ive had many of cars with big wheels extremly low profile tyres and scrapes over every bump, get a "heavy" mate in and scrubs so my question is: what wheels are people running? size tyres? and what can size can i get away with so it doesnt scrape when you get a heavy fella in the back and without arch mod. does the borbet a fit the picture? chears simon

also if u use brand new lowering springs, it will sit at a height for a while untill the springs "settel" so bare this in mind when you lower as after a few weeks it will sit a tad more lower (prob nothing noticable by the eye)

oh rite, yea its a late g60 1992 (k reg) so it wont store any engine faults? i got it on the fault machine at work and it said something about it has only gives out codes in a flash code, but i was struggling to find what to do to get a flash code. simon

right then been reading up on this vagcom thing, im used to the obd testers etc but i searched for the vagcom stuff on here and they said its located under the center consol (where it says "karman") lifted that up no problem at all, found all the gear linkage parts etc but cudnt find any 16pin normal "OBD" diagnostic port, all i could find where two little wiring plugs (a couple of wires each) these seamed to be secured. do i need a special lead to connect to these? or should i find the 16pin diagnostic port ? as much help as possible on this please as i wouldnt mind knowing any fault codes (if any fingers crossd) that are stored, chears simon

sunroof mechanisms? diffrence between late and early types?
sim0n_parker replied to sim0n_parker's topic in Interior

i have got a brand new set of ats cups that i aquired for my golf mk1 cabriolet, but i tryed them on the rear of the corrado and i just loved the look of them on it so i want to put them on, only thing is i need 15mm spacers for them to fit on the front as the ats cups spokes sit in quite far and foul on the caliper, i have orderd a set of 15mm hubcentric spacers as these are apparently the best spacers to buy as i hate spacers anyway and will try not to use them if possible, the question is has anybody had cups on a corrado? simon
