Bought the car about 6 months ago as a twilight violet standard vr that looked like this got it back to northern ireland and the modifying bug bit me again lol. so off to the bodyshop then things started to take shape got it back the other day and just took a pic om my mobile, obviously it needs a proper clean. without bra with bra short spec: corrado vr6 carbonio induction kit Raceland 6 branch Raceland decat pipe Magnex cat back stainless steel system EVO11 coilovers Keskin KT3 8x17 wheels smoothed body washer jets removed roof ariel removed rear wiper removed 90mm chin spoiler front number plate recess filled rear swage lines removed debadged all round side strips removed side repeaters removed carbon fibre rear spoiler all red tail lights

it wont do any harm, but it could spit oil out over ur manifold which wouldnt be too nice. Better to get it fixed as i did then you know everything will be ok ;)

just booked mine in for a refurb with a local guy and get the chains etc done at the same time;)

the infamous PCV valve. You can get one from Ford rather than VW as VW will want to sell you the whole intake tubing and everything for £80. Ford only want £25 for it as they use the vr6 engine in the Galaxy. the part number you need is 7364573.

see i thought it would be more like the valve stem oil seals rather than the piston rings. surely if the pistion rings were gone it would smoke under acceleration too.

there is only 96000 on it, though there was a major problem recently with a load of oil getting up the breather and into the throttle body. The car wouldnt start for a week and we thought it was new engine time, though now we have got it going again, the car is flying still no problems there. And it had to burn off all the oil that was in the bores. Once the oil had burnt off it has now done this blue smoke on over run, I havent checked the plugs to see if it oils up no6. but im sure all the plugs will have a bit of oil on them after the amount that went into the inlet manifold.

My vr6 is smoking on over run, when i accelerate there is no smoke at all just on over run. What would cause this, and how is it fixed? Thanks Jamie

as you are looking at the engine, on the left hand side at the top of the rocker cover you will see the breather tube going into the plastic tube that goes into the throttle body. The diaphragm is on that breather, it is about the size of a 50p and is round, you cant miss it.

just ordered a new one from Ford and hopefully this will not happen again.

sorry its a 1995 vr6. I had to take off the diaphram a few weeks ago as it was split and just replaced it with a straight piece of pipe. Could that be the problem? though i didnt expect there to be so much oil coming back up through the breather.

I was driving the car home from the valeters the other day and went to floor it and all of a sudden there was no power and plumes of smoke behind the car. It had been driving and felt down on power as soon as i started to drive it. When i pulled over the engine cut out and hasnt started since. I removed the induction kit and associated pipework and they were full of oil. which has obvioulsy gone in to the throttle body and down through the inlet manifold. How and why would this happen? and how do I stop it happening again if i get the engine going again? Thanks Jamie

if it was up to me to advise people I would say look elsewhere this guy is a king bullshitter and knows nothing about the cars. best to buy private, on the forum or off a "respected" dealer

gr8 so pretty much rip it out and put the standard one back in lol. i am so disappointed in this, B&M are supposed to be good at this sort of thing too. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :( and i think i threw the standard one out too :( lol anyone help me with a standard one they may have lying about?

I have fitted a B&M quick shift and it is very hard to get into 2nd and 4th. I have searched and know people think these are awful but is there anyway to set them up properly so u can select gears without having to force it in? Thanks Jamie

I have tried everything. The side lights on both sides work no bother but no brake lights. I have checked the switch behind the brake pedal and have even checked the fuses. There is no power getting to the circuit board for the brake lights. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? im at a complete loss thanks Jamie

100% the same people. my car had no front badge and no triangle or first aid kit, went on ebay to find them for sale and by guess who just days after i had picked the car up. They may not have been from my car but if they werent it was very convenient

yes Kieran exactly the same problem, its nice and free with the allen key so no jammed machanism i dont think and all fuses intact. baffled even sprayed wd40 on the guides to see if it would help but still no movement.

Hi, Has anyone relocated their crank case breather on a vr6? mine has a slight leak and is dripping oil onto the manifold which could be a tad nasty. So i want to remove it completely and run a breather filter down to the side of the air filter. Has anyone done anything similar to this? or any ideas on an alternative? Thanks Jamie

this is where i bought my car from. Mechanically the car is fine and he assured me it had never been painted. The car came with full vw history and I was well chuffed until i got it home and gave it its first polish. Turns out the car had a full SHIT respray with bits of laquer coming off. So i got the history out and rang the previous owner dreading the car had been involved in a crash or something. He assured me the car just had a few scratches and nothing that would have required painting, but for him to get best price I suppose the car has to appear mint. SO obviously the dealer had the car painted cheap to tidy it up. I emailed him about him blatently lying to me and to this day have had no response. He is a very strange man with no people skills and as stated does not budge on price if you are travelling to see him. His wife also made me a cuppa and then he was the nicest man in the workd when money changed hands. The car has never let me down mechanically and I did a VW search on the history and it all checked out and the car passed the HPI check which was all great peace of mind. I would make sure you go through the car as if it is a private sale as said before and dont listen to a word he says. He has a jeep and the reg is tricky so he is a car dealer called Tricky RIcky ( says it all really )

It wont open, when i push the button i can here the switch making a clicking noise but then nothing happens.

Does such a kit exist? If so how much is it and where could I get one, mine gave up the ghost today :( Ps i have done a search for sunroof but i dont have 2 years to read all the posts lol Thanks Jamie

I have a carbonio and LOVE it, very esay to fit and as said the filter is down inside the wing so stays nice and cool.
