Ah yes. The rad's out at the minute so I didn't clock that, thank you. I'd better keep an eye out for another one.

That's very cool. Not of any use to me to be honest but thank you.

After far too much time I'm finally looking to get my Corrado back on the road. The front end needs some bodywork and the chap who's going to spray it isn't too complimentary about the state of my front cross-member. The upper part that supports the engine is fine but the thinner panel that drops down to support the bumper cover etc. is pretty rough and not worth trying to repair. Personally I can't see it causing a problem but I can see where he's coming from. Does anyone have any horror stories about failing cross-members or should I tell him to ignore it?

I'm looking for an early rear bumper for my car. It's being completely resprayed so paint colour/condition is not important. The car is at a friends workshop so I haven't had a chance to sus out how it all goes together but I need the panel that connects the front bumper to the subframe. If it comes completew with the subframe then so be it. Obviously these are chunky/fragile parts so the closer to Cornwall the better as I'd prefer to collect than run the risk of couriers.

2nd that. That's difficult light to get nice contrast with. Jim, I can't promise anything because I seem to be living my life on a merrygoround just waiting to see where I land when it throws me off but.. My 16v is in for a respray right now and should be looking fantastic in November so get hold of me nearer the time if you need a car for the stand.

I started a thread looking for a few parts the other day. Due to changing plans I have made this one as well to include "inca blue" in the title. Mods, please delete the other one if neccesary, sorry for the mess. Now I have been offered a bonnet but not in my colour so if there is one out there it would have to take preference. I need an early n/s wing but a pair of late ones in the right colour would be an alternative. Early grill, simple, don't need badges. Early n/s headlight, doesn't have to be great as the o/s isn't but a tidy matching pair would be of interest. If theres an inca drivers door and rear bumper out there then I'd like them. My door is dented and stretched and the bumper looks like it was painted with a splattergun. But neither of them is a priority. Since a BMW pulled out right in front of me I'm trying to get my 16v back on the road for less than I could get a faster one for. I've had it eight years and love the old money pit but at some point you just can't ignore economics.. I don't know yet whether insurance will cover a paint job that's worth having so I'm looking for the right colour panels just in case there are any out there, I get that it's a rare colour but you never know. I'm not in a desperate rush to actually get the parts but need to know what's available pretty soon so I know where I'm going with it. So I'm sorry if I can't make a snap decision on things but I won't string anyone along. If I can get the body repairs sorted fairly cheaply then I could go ahead with the ABF swap, speed's more important than looks eh?

Right. In light of my changing parts wanted list I'm going to start a new thread as I can't edit the title of this one, I should put more thought into it.. Sorry to the mods for being messy, please feel free to delete this thread if you feel the need.

Lilfuzzer: Thank you but we're to far apart to make it work, sorry. Jezza: My list has changed slightly as per my edit above. So your slam panel would be the only part I could use of that VR6. Let me know when it's in please.

As per the title. I do have a bonnet but haven't had a chance to find it and check it over so not yet sure I need one. Paint is not important as the cars being resprayed but metal condition is. I can collect but am at the arse end of nowhere, Cornwall. Scratch that. I'll just be needing a slam panel, early n/s wing, headlight and grill. I thought I may as well fit late wings as I'm planning to widetrack the car. This work was going to be an insurance job but that's looking shaky so I'll probably just be getting the bare minimum of bits together and possibly doing it myself so the widetrack / abf plan's going to have to wait.. Panels in Inca Blue would be lovely, but then so would the moon on a stick..

Most of all of the work I've done to my car has been to make it handle more sweetly and grip better. The ABF seems like a good move and saves a head rebuild to sort out my KRs death rattle. But out cornering supercars is where it's at for me so when I say is it worth it I guess I just mean would it make it any better?

So I picked up a mk3 Golf TDI a few weeks back after my Corrado's unfortunate meeting with a BMW. Well I went got another mk3, a 16v, thinking that the ABF can go in the Corrado and the leather, rear beam, front arms, driveshafts and brakes on the TDI, which needs new bushes anyway. But the more I think about it the less I like the idea of improving the handling of a 90bhp Golf if the same work could improve a 150bhp+ Corrado. So I'd like to know how much of the Golf 16v kit will fit my 1990 Corrado. I know people put the front end on mk2 Golfs so I'm guessing that pretty much bolts on. It's the rear beam I'm wondering about. The Corrado already has a bent rear beam which needs replacing. It has one bent front wing and needs paint after the BMW incident so putting wide wings on wouldn't be such a big deal. Most importantly would it be worth doing?

How many LK5T Inca Blue Corrado's are there?

Mine was in London till the late nineties.. It is a nice colour, goes purple in the right light, nicer than it sounds. It was registered November 1990 so would be '91 model year I suppose. I'm awaiting a visit by an insurance assessor as some turd hurt it the other week, see http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=88885. I'm planning to play the cherished-rare-sports-car card as I'm sure the valuation figure will be derisory. Hopefully a rare colour will help that. -
Well after nearly 8 years of ownership I just found out mine is Inca Blue not Aqua Blue Pearl! I've never had reason to double check until this week. I've never heard of the colour, is it rare?

Thanks for all the support. I've been through this a couple of times before so have my eyes open to the games insurance companies try.. Still it's good to be reminded to be on guard. I'm going to push for repair, I have the right to any salvage but even so I want it fixed. I really didn't want to get in a car the next morning (yesterday) to go to work. Went anyway but felt sick and went home just after lunch. Feel fine today. Weird how the little things can affect you. I've messed myself up pretty badly with things with wheels over the years and never got nervous like that before. But I'm picking up a mk3 Golf diesel tomorrow, an anaesthetic on wheels!

So far I haven't found any chassis damage. The front of my car is low plus I was braking hard so my bumper didn't really get hit, it went underneath his. So the wing and headlight took the impact. Yes it's repairable but whether I'll get enough out of the vampires to do it right or not is another matter.. I'm alright thanks, no injuries just annoyed. Sorry to see that Sean, that's properly bent. I like that colour too. It's the tyres that amazed me. I'm still on the not-at-all-sporty Rainsports 3s I was bitching about a few months back. The fronts were on about 4mm after 3500 miles, yes 3500 miles! But todays hard stop ending with locked wheels put a very noticeable flat on one and tore a 3" across, 1/4" deep lump out of the other. I'll be glad to throw those things away, the worst tyres I have ever had..

Wrong photo..

A crazy fool pulled out from behind the lorry he was following at 30mph into the outside lane straight in front of me this morning. I braked so hard I ripped chunks out of my tyres but still hit him. Ouch..

Does anyone have any first hand experience of these?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Group-Gr-N-Steel-Exhaust-System-VW-Golf-2-Corrado-G60-1-8-16V-Pipe-1x60-/201130042947?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ed448e643#ht_1275wt_1111
