  1. im pretty sure it has karl. i was hoping someone would come along and say something along those lines :) youve made my night mate
  2. DTA P8 Pro - anyone know how much these are worth new? im meant to be buying one tonight but i dont wont to get stitched up. ive tried searching on the net but it seems this ecu is discontinued as there are not many results. *edit* i assume the s80 pro is its replacement. basically is a new dta p8 pro worth £600? chris
  3. welcome to the club if your go this route. i would advise if you want to do this properly, go obd2 if you get the chance. if you choose to go obd1, ask one of the breaker gents on this site whether they have an uncut engine bay loom + speedo loom. the electrics are honestly a piece of pi$$ providing you get a good loom, if memory serves me correctly its all plug and play. took me an hour to wire mine in after i'd got my head around everything. note, you will not need to change your 16v gear linkages. they are the same as vr6 ones. are you staying 4 stud wheel pattern? or going 5 stud? if you need a vr6 cat, i have a good condition genuine one here on the cheap. passed its last mot with flying colours. if you need any advice give us a shout. chris
  4. if you get a good enough quote for chroming i will throw my name into the mix for def.
  5. I did wonder, never had a polished item under the hood. I'll see how it goes, if it oxidises quite often and quite quickly then I'll go back to OEM finish or have one painted. Again, not sure. Was tempted to laquer it but not sure if this is a good idea either. don't bother with the laquer, if you even look at it funny the laquer will scratch and become visible. powder coating or chroming is the way forward. i got so pi$$ed off with my old inlet and rocker so sold them and had some chromed, all they need is a light wipe now, no more polishing  When i get my r32 sorted out i will definately be chroming the rocker so if you fancy doing a group batch let me know. did that gruven crack pipe fit the r32? you shouldnt have to worry about that oxidising as i did clear hi temp laquer it. forgot to mention it when i sold it to you.
  6. rocker looks lovely! :salute: are you gonna be chroming it or devoting every weekend to polishing it? :D
  7. i'd still consider a beige interior in mine if one came up at the right price. will look the nuts nathan
  8. lol, have a practise with some scrap bits first. get confident, then go create :D

    VR serp belt squeak

though a genuine belt is of much better quality and worth the extra £

    VR serp belt squeak

replaced my crank pulley as it was damaged. noise went straight away and never returned. if youve never had your engine out its unlikely it'll be the crank pulley, it was a very rare problem i had. suggestions, use a genuine belt, make sure your water pump, aux tensioner, alternator and power steering pump are ok. check pulleys and belt for wear. the belt will usually show where its rubbing. watch the belt and pulleys to check for unusual wobbling etc. if its a belt squeak itll be one of the pulleys causing it. have you taken your power steering pulley off recently? check that on the right way, when it is, there may still be a slight wobble from this pulley but that shouldn't make it squeak as mine wobbles slightly.
  11. im sure there will be! a snow photo for december would be better than a rainy one :) your call though buddy
  12. cheers tom. what are we doing with decembers photos? are we going to cheat and allow this rare bit of snow from jan into decembers thread? i think it would be great if everyone is up for that... no posting of the same photo in both decembers and januarys thread though. what do you think tom?
  13. love this car! im glad to see it went to another caring enthusiastic owner :) remember the last time marcus took me out in it. its silly quick!!! it put such a big smile on my face lol. unbelievable braking too.
  14. can i have a little input from any of the mods. would it be possible to stick this thread or the subsequent monthly voting threads at/near the top of the relevant boards? we should get the quotes back on monday, so hopefully next week, providing the price is good with everyone i will start sorting out january's and possibly decembers voting threads.
  15. tis a lovely photo, toms got some great scenery round his way
  16. the prints wont be a problem, i have a man/housemate on the inside for that. im sure he will put his input into this soon.
  17. i'm not sure if anyone is in the process of sorting a calendar for 2011 yet? if not i would like to get something up. this would have to be set up sharpish though as we are already in january. who would be interested? obviously the more people, the more likely it will go ahead. printing will not be a problem, i should have an approximate price back tonight or beginning of next week. A4 or A3 size? there are 3 options for decembers photo's, we could take them from december 09 or we could have a short voting period this coming december, or, we could use the recent snow photos to make it feel more christmasy (i know its not december but its been a rare snow shoot for most people, it's never guaranteed). this will give us chance to get the prints together for 2011. your input/interest please..... chris
  18. ok pete, ill give them a buzz soon and find out. cheers mate
  19. in answer to this topic... no a vr6 fuel pump will not fit a 2.0l 16v fuel tank. the lid opening is the same but there is no mounting position at the bottom of the tank for the vr pump.
  20. take the badge out of yours and plastic weld some strips in to make yours badgeless. 7 slat bagdeless grilles look great! :D
  21. lol jesus! -34 degrees! -26 degrees was bad enough lol a few of mine in the snow
  22. got to admit im not a massive fan of the scoop either but each time i look at it, it starts to more acceptable  please don't get one of those grilles to go with it lol. (just kindin, you do what makes you happy :) ) if you want another bonnet vent option check this out, towards the bottom of the page http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=60683&start=705 tastefully done, one of my absolute favourite corrados. welcome to the forum and good luck with the motor
  23. ill keep that in mind, its always good to have a comeback when things go wrong. shame to hear your breaking the rado down :( but i know youve had your struggles with engine problem / stealth etc in the past and it does get to a point. if youve got any bits that would compliment mine on itb's let me know as i'd be interested. (im not trying to encourage you to break btw :) ) and please do let me know when you decide to sell the rocco :norty: i'd rather a mk1 rocco than a rado any day! 1st dibs if it hasnt already been called
  24. thanks karl, its a shame i spent so long prepping myself for the turbo route. i could have had this finished long ago if i hadn't fudged around with that idea, oh well, all the bits sold should easily pay for this. are you definately going turbo now? thanks for the rad website, they are very reasonable prices! ill try that guy with the r32 jetta as well. cheers again karl
