Too right. Remember that guy this year that looked like he'd done his conversion using any old bits he found laying around? I think he even had a bit from an old Beelte IIRC! I wonder if that car's still on the road? Was he on here? And no I don't mean Kev!
-
how pi$$ed would you be if this happened to you

Even if he did p!ss someone off there's no excuse for that. -
Yeah, forced induction VR is the way to go. Best of both worlds! :D So mincy is getting treated to a turbo? When you gonna start that little beauty?
-
I just love the quirkiness of them. It seems to suit me for some reason. For this my third Rado I went out with the intention of buying a VR and after looking at a couple of really nice cars I bought the first G60 I saw. When I was driving it home along the A12 and A14 I knew I'd made the right decision. I just love the way they drive. And they don't feel nose heavy!
-
Damn ,you walked right into that sonic. You can't be giving these 6 shooters that kind of ammo. :) That's ok, I don't mind. Let them convince themselves that they didn't buy the wrong car. You know in years to come they'll all be driving around in their ten a penny common as muck VR6s and we'll have the really rare and sort after model. :D Toad, I order you to find it for me. I'll pay you a serious amount of monies maaaddaaaamm! No seriously mate, if you could have a look for it I'd be very grateful. :D
-
Er, please see the picture below: There is another threaded hole like the one in the picture. I assume there should be a cover there? Of course I could just go and check my Bentley manual but it's in the garage and it's cold and dark outside!
-
You've just ruined your flick book. Shame on you!
-
I'm sure you'll be fine dude, you seem way more compentent than I am! :D
-
Mate, you've got so many pictures on this thread now I bet you could print them all off and make a flick book of you fixing your car! Awesome stuff though, you appear to be doing a really thorough job. :D

Bloody 'ell mate sounds like you're having a fun time at the moment. Maybe I should pop over and we can both have a moan about stuff! If you want a good stereo I've got one that I took out of mine a few weeks ago (got me a new blaupunkt) which is just in my way at the moment. There is nothing wrong with it, I just fancied a change. How did you jump start it? I'd just have a quick look through the fuses, sounds like just the one blown on the interior circuit. You're welcome round anytime you want mate! :D That's the thing about Corrado ownership. You're never short of things to talk about with fellow owners! I have an Alpine stereo lined up that I hocked out of one of our part exchanges. Gonna see what that's like. If that's pants as well I'll give you a shout buddy. Cheers for the offer. Yeah, think probably just a fuse has gone too. I just jumped it off the company car in the standard fashion. In amongst the gubbins I cleared out just after buying the car I did find a few blown fuses.... Glad I've got a Bentley manual so finding it should be a lot easier! I'll have a look tonight probably. I can't believe the brake lines were so difficult. It just seems such a simple thing but what a horrible job. If I hadn't had access to a lift AND a qualified mechanic I'd have struggled even more!
-
What do you buy the Corrado owner who has everything?
Sonicriot13 replied to Timbo's topic in General Car Chat
There you go monkey, I bet you never thought anyone would ever call you a snob! -
Well, the vast majority of the brake lines are done now. Thank goodness. Only the really short ones at the front to do. Gonna leave those for now as they are still in good nick. During our tinkering we found some fo the rubber exhaust mounts had perished which explained some of the horrendous vibrating noises! Now they are sorted it's like a different car. A lot more civilised! :D My girlfriend prefers it now that it's quieter. Plus you can enjoy the noises of the exhaust and intake at high revs better. It's amazing how just a few jobs can make a car so much better. I was grinning the whole way home with it yesterday. However, one small problem. I had to jump start it and in the process I must have blown something because the interior light and heated rear screen no longer work! As soon as you fix one thing something else breaks! So I think I need to spend a day sorted out electrical gummins. Also my stereo sucks and I want to change it. One thing that is bothering me, there appears to be something missing. There are two bolt holes at the sump end of the gear box and the fly wheel looks to be exposed!. I assume there should be cover there?!

Mate, so sorry to hear about this. :(
-
*ahem* 'car sales executive'   You know it!
-
Being a car salesman myself this doesn't surprise me at all. The sh!t hasn't even begun to hit the fan yet. But those of you hoping for a V6 4x4 rocco can keep dreaming i fear....
-
 Oh, well if you look at it like that. I don't count the Corrado as a Scirocco because they ran the two models side by side for a while. Oh yeah, and they have completely different names!
-
Mk3 surely? I might be wrong though. But the mk1 was the one with the round lights, then the mk2 was the badly cut block of cheese right? So this must be the mk3???
-
You spell it Scirocco. ;) There's a badge on the back saying it and everything! Actually it's spelt Mk3 Scirocco....  There should be a badge for that. So that there can be no doubt! :D
-
I'm sure you'll be back too! :D But just in case I'd like to thank you again for all your support. Honestly mate you don't know how much you have helped. I'm sure I'd have left my job by now but believe it or not there is a voice in my head (not a scary one) that says "what would Andy think if you just jacked it in without a fight?" And it was particularly helpful during the first few months of my job to have you around to talk about the ridiculousness and rampant idiocy that seems to prevail so often in this industry. Hopefully less and less of it perpetrated by me as I grow in experience. Anyway buddy, whatever you decide to do best of luck to you and the family. I'm sure I'll see you around at shows and stuff. Joe

Do you mean curb feeler? If so yes it is. I don't want to scuff my steelies now do I! Actually it's a long bar doohicky for removing high torque nuts and road wheel bolts that has just been propped up against the side of my car. But I'm sure you knew that really.
-
Thought I'd do a nice one:

we need to introduce Forum awards... this thread vs. the motivator for best-thread-of-the-year  I require some credit is an award is presented for my slack jawed comments  Well, you could win for this thread, also you win the award for "grammatical malfunction" hands down. :D I think Andy665 should get "most prolific thread starter". In fact anyone with the name Andy should win the award for "most popular user name particularly when accompanied by a seemingly meaningless string of numbers".

You could cover it all up with your tax disc instead. Oh no wait, you haven't got a tax disc! Hence the reason why you're in court in the first place. Silly me. yup that was about as funny as what Michael Barrymoore does when he finished with his fags, he chucks em in the pool [/quote:2jb9bzlk] Yeah, I'll give you that one. Seriously though, when you get your log book go and get a replacement disc. It's not gonna help your job situation if you have to tell a prospective employer that you are being taken to court for failing to pay a fine for not displaying your tax disc.

I have nothing to stand up to mate. I have a tax disc in my window. Frankly I think the charge for a replacement should be more than £7. And I think the charge is there partly because the DVLA are working on the basis that securing a tax disc to a windscreen is a fairly simple procedure and that most people, given that they've just spent their hard earned money on it, will try not to lose it.
