Inlet on this one has been modified, not sure if its to do with clearance on the turbo or not though. There was fair bit of work done to the inlet manifold, TB is on the other side. thats just the way i would like to set mine up i think that looks great, keeps the OEM look about the engine. i may have to contact keith to see if he has any pics of his manifold, i have a rough idea of what i will do but its always good to compare with others that have already been there and done it. is that his manifold on pg 28 of this thread? it also looks like i may have to return to the standard sump to allow boost pipe to run under so may sell my alloy sump n oil pump :?

yes i know but i really like the look of the original manifold :( i like the look of this but mine will be a lot less clutered as im going to be hidding most/all or the loom and smoothing the bay too : http://www.c2motorsports.net/images/car ... tta_07.jpg

"pianowire" cheers for that i see what you mean about the poor workmanship its a shame as it has lot of clearance for the brake fluid pot, i have seen on there web site that they warrant their manifolds for life though:http://spaturbousa.com/home//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=57&Itemid=65. "StormchargedVR6" cheers for your pics the engine bay looks so nice, it looks like the ATP manifold works well too but i would have to rotate the intake side of the turbo by 90 degrees clockwise as i really want to use the original inlet. was there much work in relocating the brake res?
-
alright kev what seems to be the prob with SPA ones as i like the design of these the most or may be an ATP as they look like they give more clearance for the master cylinder, is it to do with the material used ?? cheers

hi lads can any one point me in the dircetion of a good exhaust turbo manifold as there seems to be a lot of people critasising the spa one? i am just in the middle of selling my VF charger and the plan is to join all of you with the turbo way, the thing is i would really like to keep the original inlet manifold as i prefer the look of the engine this way and i see a lot of people in germany and USA still use the original inlet mani. your help will be appriciated as im starting to buy the bits i need to start this while i convert to OBD2 this winter after i get my car back from paynes. thanks

hi dubstar i have just spoke to Carrera custom design house and unfortunately the person who made these no longer works for them so im going to have to try hunt down someone else now but thanks any way. i dont suppose you want to sell yours?
-
nice one for that ill give him a ring as his web site is not working at the mo, but he is only based about 30min drive from me which is good.
-
hi dubstar would you be kind enough to tell me where i can buy these polished goodies from? thanks
-
hi do you mind me asking how much you paid for your paint job on your car its just iv been looking around at afew companies and had a few prices but i have seen some of gregs work and i looks very good. cheers

my oil cooler is slightly smaller than yours (16 row) plus i removed my original water cooler. did you do the same?
-
Looks perfect and I'd like to do the same too, I was just wondering what size the cooler is?[/quote:2effg352] thanks i wanted it to look spot on. this is a 16 row cooler but i am now looking at getting a bigger 1 as now i have my charger on and remapped my oil is running just over 100c but that is with a lead right foot if you know what i mean.

hi all, just thought id post some pics of my cooler now iv got it fitted finally and thanks to everyone for the help. i ended up extending my power steering pipe along the front so i could use the hole that it used to go through for my cooler pipes.
-
thanks. i thought it may be the ignition switch but im sure they are not cheap, so ill have a look round all the wiring that i had to remove to do the manifold first just in case there is something that has gone wrong or iv missed. also you say about the relay X on the fues box how do i know which one this is so i can remove it and test it if possible?
-
can any body help? i fitted a raceland 6 branch manifold & de-cat pipe on my 1993 vr6 the other week end and since that my engine has over run for about 10-20 seconds after turning off the key (3 times out of about 10 trips to work.) it is really bugging me now as im all ready to start fitting a VF stage 2 charger kit but want to try get this problem sorted first. please any help greatfull.
-
you should not need to use any plumbers tape thats the idea of a tappered thread. i have just installed a VAG gauge panel (oil + volts) into my vr6 and the dual pole sender i got with it screws straight in and does not leak. i got all the parts for this from VAG parts.
-
hi fella did that mk2 golf strut brace fit on ok? also where did you get it from as iv been looking all over for 1 for my vr6
-
quick question to you all, did you remove the original oil cooler or keep it and use both? as iv been reading on the vr owners club that most people have removed theirs and just linked the water pipes together? thanks
-
thanks for the pic that helps. ill try and post some of mine in a couple of days once iv got mine in and fitted. cheers
