Finnished converting the grey trim to black parts, built a fake floor in the boot to hide my amp and also to make the floor flat, In my conversion i have used boot carpets from a VR and i think the floor is higher in the late model as there was a 2" gap between my G60's floor and where the carpets wanted to sit. Gave the inside a good clean, also sold my mk3 vr6 today so all in all its been a productive day. :salute:

I am considering swapping my 2 litre converted G60 for a 1.8turbo. I would love to be able to do it myself but i dont have the space to do the work :( What is the current cost of getting this sort of conversion done, from what i have been reading it seems to be about £2000-3000 in labour plus parts is that about right or have all of you guys done the conversions yourself? Also as i have over 220bhp in the g60 i am looking for a fair bit from the new engine, Is the BAM engine code the only one that was 225bhp from an original car?
-
No probs, thought i would post up my finding in case anyone else is hunting for it, do you know how i go about getting this info added to the knowledge base?

Right i managed to get hold of a replacment bolt to messure, and the answer is its M10 1mm pitch.

I know i read that bit about the Nano not working but i have a 2nd gen ipod nano and it worked fine with the demo headunit i was playing with in hallfords. I am still really tempted, I have a std input jack at the moment and its a pain in the butt to change tracks on the ipod all the time.

Damn, ive being pondering about the possiblity of doing somthing like your mesh number plate. Nice to see it is possible but its been done now :(
-
Had the same thing happen on my g60 about 3 days after i bought it, just pressed the peddle down and there it stayed... :( Picked up a new alloy part and about 2 hours later we where back in business, did it all in place on my drive.

Removed all the seats, fitted a full set of carpets and reasembled my raddo on friday afternoon. Still need to do some of the other trim but the weather is holding me up.
-
Thinking about getting a new headunit for my raddo, I allready have an ipod nano stacked up with songs etc so i wanted to make sure that what ever i got had a way to play them, then i saw the alpine iDA-X001. http://www.trustedreviews.com/multimedi ... ad-Unit/p1 Has anyone got one or used one, i trust alpine for there sound and build quality only that i am not so sure about is dropping the cd drive in the car, i suppose it does mean i can do away with random cd's laying about the car. Has anyone got any ideas on how to make the ipod connection secure and hidden other than just connecting it to the cable and sticking it in the cubby hole in the middle.

Hi, i am in urgent need some of help. Can anyone tell me what size and thread pitch the oil return line bolt is for a g60 supercharger. I need to order a helicoil kit and i need to make sure i get the right one. I think its one of these but i dont know which one: M9 x 1.25mm M10 x 1.00mm M10 x 1.25mm M10 x 1.50mm I dont want to take the bolt out to mesure it as it will prob pull the last bit of thread i have out, i need to get this sorted asap as its dripping with the engine running at the moment and i keep getting into trouble for it leaking oil on things :( Thanks in advance

if it stops raining tomorrow i will try and get some pics of the bits i still need, I am going to pickup the carpets tomorrow so nearly got all the bits for stage 1 sorted out. i need to get the carpets fitted and the black trim finnished for the main parts of the car and then i will do the dash as a second stage. Main bits left that i need are the boot trims both the ones round the window and the bits that cover the wiper and soiler mech's, and the lower section under the door on the drivers side.
-
I have a 91 g60 so i presume its an early style i need, shame as it would be nice to do the dash while doing the rest of the trim. I know they are but what is different on the later dash?
-
I have got most of the parts now to finnish the conversion that had been started on my C, I am just wondering as the last few parts, I still need a dash board and some of the trims to go round the inside of the boot window. Till i can get some propper black trims for the boot, do you think it would look ok if i took the grey ones out and sprayed them black? Also how hard is it to change the dashboard over, i mean is it a 1/2 days work or am i looking at a full weekend to do just the dash? While i have the dash out i am tempted to replace the cubby hole with a set of guages and possibily delete the ash tray. Also i want to hard wire my gps speed cam thingy into the dash and hide it in the lower part of the main cluster, powered via a relay triggered by an ignition live.

Hehe, i am looking forward to doing the same thing with mine when i finally sort out the problems with it. I have a simular setup in mine but its not running propperly at the moment. Jabba sport 2 liter bottom end, g-werks stage 4 charger, cams, fueling etc. I still need to get the timing sorted out, its 1/2 tooth out at the moment and i dont have a vernier pully yet, and then i need get a smaller charger pully fitted, at the moment she is runing a stock 78mm pully and topping out at 7psi but even this low its making 222hp and 175 lb. Once i get the boost pressure back up and spend some more time on to rollers i am looking for 250+. Then it will be time to show up some vr's.
-
I got mine from "camberley auto factors" cost me 55+vat wasnt hard to do just messy.
-
Do you have a vr or a g60, Not sure on the VR6 block but on mine it was not really very hard just annoying as the bolts where all really stiff and blocked by the gear linkage so i had to get them out with spanners as i couldnt get a socket wrench in there. As long as you have some basic tools and take your time over it shouldnt be too bad, you will need a 13mm spanner for the bolts that hold the cylinder to the block then a 12 for the pipe that comes off the cylinder. I got the new slave cylinder for 55+vat. Once you have unbolted it find somthing to cover the end of the fluid line or it will drip the whole header tank all over the engine bay, i used a latex glove over the end and an elastic band. Once the new one is fitted and bolted up tight just fill the header tank up and bleed the line out. Prob took me 2 hours to do based on it being the 1st time i have ever done one and working out what was where and so on. Also having a mate help with the bleed as it makes life SO much easier.

On my way to camberley auto factors to get a new oil temp sender and pressed the clutch in and thats where it sayed, no force or feel and for that mater no clutch action. Couldnt get the temp sender in the end but i did come away with a new clutch slave cylinder, so after a short trip on a rescue lorry and an afternoon on the drive she is all back together and working again.

Bought me a beasty g60, and found out on the way home that the MFA wont show my oil temp even tho it did last week when i test drove it :D

When i bought my passat 20vt it had Ventus k104's all round, I loved them but i replaced them with Proxy cf1's and i think the 104s where much better tyres. I have now replaced the cf1's with Ventus k107 Evos and they are awsome too. the k104 looks cooler tho 8) I will be happy to put ventus K series tyres on my corrado when i get it in a few weeks.
