  1. Hi all, Just a feeler to see if anyone would be interested in swapping out their black cloth interior for my black (heated) leather? I need to make up some funds as I recently lost my job and decided to sell my interior but thought I'd try this first. It is all in pretty good condition with the exception of the driver's seat, which is worn on the door side and has the fold-forward lever missing, It's good otherwise though. The passenger seat is in great condition as are all the door cards. The rear bench is in good condition, with just the leather wrap around on the back of the seats a little torn (in the boot). Check out the pics for the best description (to follow). I'm really looking for a full interior in the black cloth (with the late purple designs) in decent condition (must have rear centre armrest) plus a cash offer in return for the full leather interior, including heated seat switch/loom. I'm based in Eastbourne, East Sussex Cheers :-)
  2. Hi Drucey, If you look at the back of the matrix housing inside the car, you'll probably find that you've unscrewed the thread from the box so it will just pull out. I had this on mine. Then when u put it back, you just line up the thread again and screw it back in by turning the nut siezed on the other end of the thread in the engine bay.

  5. Hi all, can any one tell me if I can replace the VR6 pump with the in-tank pump from a 2L 16v? I know the connectors are slightly different but otherwise is it possible? Cheers
  6. Hi, This is for a 1995 VW Corrado 2.0 16v in Classic Green Pearlescent. Please take the time to read through the ad,..there's some good, some not so good, but I want it to be as clear and as honest an ad as possible as I don't want to waste your time or my own. The car is in good all round condition, starts every time and drives very well. It's great fun on a twisty road with a nice low down driving position. It has both tax and MOT until November 2014. All brakes are good and the car's had a recent clutch, cambelt , camcover gasket and gear linkage, all within the last 30,000 miles. It has been fully serviced every year including oil/filter, air filter and spark plugs, with a new fuel filter every 2 years. It's also had a new fuel pump assembly fitted. The car has a fairly high mileage, just coming up to 236,000. However most of these are motorway miles by a previous owner with a mega commute and the car drives as if it's done half this. The paint is pretty good for the age of the car with no significant rust to mention. It has however had both doors repainted and while the colour is correct, the paint is flatter than the rest. This is only really obvious in direct sunlight, but you should be able to see what I mean in the pics, easily sorted though. The car has a set of Wolfrace alloys which really suit the car and look great with a clean and polish. It also has a Jetex stainless steel back box which makes a nice sound without being over the top. It has a remapped ECU chip installed, which improves the power delivery at low revs and smooths out the acceleration band. Fuel economy is unchanged with this, which incidentally is around 30-35 mpg depending on how you drive :-). I have the original chip too which will be included with the sale if you wanted to replace it. The interior is in nice condition, it has the black cloth, which in my opinion is way nicer than the grey, only a small tear on the driver's seat and a little sagging of the cloth on the fronts. The rear bench is in practically new condition. The ABS works properly, with the light coming on for a few seconds with the ignition and then going out (can be a problem on some Corrados) There is a Blaupunkt Travelpilot head unit/antenna installed, which is an old school CD/radio/sat nav, which works well and all speakers are present. The disc for this unit is from 2003, so will want replacing if you intend to use the navigation :-) The stereo has no cage at present to secure it into the dash. Electrics....... Things that work: Both electric windows Both electric mirrors Spoiler (both at speed and on the button) Wipers Sunroof Tilt Things that don't work: Sunroof Slide (common problem) Passenger door lock (locks via central locking, but not from the handle itself) Heater blower fan (I have tested with another fan motor and it came to life immediately, so it is definitely the blower unit itself. These can be bought for around £40 and fitting is a case of removing a piece of trim replacing...10 minute job before winter comes round again!) The oil pressure warning indicator led comes on while driving. I've replaced both sensors and checked the pressure, which is fine. So have diagnosed this as a fault with the pressure control unit on the back of the clocks (another common fault). All it means is there is a blinking led on the dash, no more, no less. It has the uprated headlight wiring loom for both dipped and main beam, which is great because now you can actually see where you are driving in the dark. The heater matrix was replaced a couple of years ago as it was leaking. This one should be good for a few years at least. It has a Laserline 920K Thatcham Immobiliser installed, with a dash mounted fob contact. It has the original space saver spare wheel and jack in the boot. Comes with 2 keys and 2 immobiliser fobs. I'm asking £800 for the car, but am open to sensible offers. I think that's it, any questions, please ask. I can be contacted on 07841 514 040 or PM me :-) Thanks for looking, pics can be seen on my Gumtree ad here: http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/1995m-vw-volkswagen-corrado-20-16v-classic-green-pearlescent-6-months-mot-tax-nice-condition/1060223696 Thom :-)
  7. Hi, I have a driver's door handle which strangely has the striker still intact, but on which both potmetal pieces of the locking mechanism have broken. Does anyone have these bits, or a handle with a broken striker I could take these pieces from? Cheers
  8. Oops, I'm in Eastbourne, East Sussex, can you help me? :-)
  9. Hi, I need a tailgate in Sherry Pearl. If anyone has one, please let me know. Cheers :-)
  10. Hi, We're selling our 2000 Audi A3 1.6, it's a great little car with MOT until Feb 2015 and tax until the end of July. It's had loads spent on it in recent years including a reconditioned gearbox and new clutch. Below is a link to the full ad on Gumtree. Please message me if interested, Cheers :-) http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/2000-audi-a3-16-purple-12-months-mot-5-months-tax-great-condition-128300-miles/1050843460
  11. Hi all, I have a nice Jetex exhaust on my 9A that I'd like to transfer over to my VR, can anyone tell me if they are a direct swap, or at least the back box? Cheers :-)
  12. Done.....do you have a paypal account? If so, if you give me ur paypal address I'll send you over a payment with my postal address this evening, unless you'd prefer a bank transfer? Thanks again! :-)
  13. Hi m8, thanks for that :-), what would you like for it, inc postage to Eastbourne? Cheers Thom
  14. Hi, cheers for the info davidwort, that's a great help. It turns out the one I want is 02A 301 232 G (the stamp on the side is very unclear) Dox, I'm guessing this is from a 93/94 car? Any chance you can tell me if it's weighted and condition/price? Please PM me. Thanks again :-)
  15. Hi, I've been trying to get hold of a replacement gear selector housing for my 9a. The old part has the number: 02A 301 232 C, however I can't find any record of this part having existed online or through the dealers. The most similar looking part is 02A 301 231C/02A 301 231 H. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct part for a 2L 16v, CGY gearbox? It looks identical, but I just know that some have different internal measurements. Cheers :-)
  16. Hi, I'm after a new gear selector housing (the top part of the tower on top of the gearbox that the tower bearing is located)) as mine is damaged. Can anyone help? Thanks Thom
  17. Hi Phil, that's the one. payment and PM sent. Cheers :-)
  18. Hey, thanks :-), no worries, congratulations! Let me know how much you want for it with postage to Eastbourne. Cheers
  19. Hello, As above, does anyone have these in reasonable condition, I'm going to paint the plinth so marks are ok, just no cracks etc. Thanks :-)
  20. No worries Chaos :-), thanks for the link BILLCOR, although I'm not sure I want it THAT much :-). Sure I'll find a used one somewhere!
  21. Hi Chaos, have you still got that number plate plinth? :-)
  22. Just have to add some praise of my own!,...It took me 4.5 hours today to make my (normally 45 minute) drive home cos of the snow. While loads of modern cars were breaking down around me or being abandonded cos they couldn't deal with the snow/sitting in traffic, my 18 year old VW with 221K miles on the clock didn't a beat :-)
  23. Hi,

I just found your message in the VAG-COM thread. I'm also in Eastbourne so was hoping you could help me out :-)

I have a 2000 Audi A3 1.6 that has a replacement ECU fitted. I was hoping to recode and match the ECU to the car using VCDS-Lite (Shareware) and a generic interface cable as I'd read up that you could do this, but havn't had much luck. I think it's possibly down to the cheapy cable I'm using so have ordered a better quality one to try out (which will hopefully arrive tomorrow)

If I can't get this to work with the new cable (should know by the weekend), is it possible I could hire your services to plug in and match the new ECU to the immobiliser in the car?

    If so, that'd be great,

    Cheers

    Thom :-)
