  1. thanks davidwort, there was no part number on the old ones, just a pressure rating. must be aftermarket  i think when he searched the system it came up with the newer ones, which i questioned.
  2. had a look and seems ok at a glance, but im no electrician. was the dry solder on a wire or a pin?
  3. it was the head unit earth in the end, it was earthed through the fuse box so i "cut and paste" it to the earthing point just up from the fuse box. there was a few other earths spliced into it aswell. THANKS EVERYONE especially toad :D
  4. i hope not, because one of them has an oil leak lol the senders on top of the oil filter housing im on about.
  5. I went to order some new oil pressure senders from vw today and they couldn't find the part numbers on there system for the blue or yellow senders, instead came up with a clear/white for the high pressure and i think it was black for the low pressure sender, both with a slightly different part number. for the low pressure sender the limits where higher than 0.3 bar as well so im wondering if this is right? do they not sell the VAG blue and yellow senders anymore?
  6. the c has recently Developed a nasty judder when pressing lightly on the throttle at cruising speed, I changed all the ht leads, plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, coil and checked all the vacuum pipes and sensors but the problem is still there. could this be a fueling issue? maybe the fuel reservoir? it is also revving up still after cleaning the isv. any help appreciated chaps, thanks. (2l 16v 9a)
  7. hhhhhhm, simple yet effective ^ lol how do you go about earthing your rca's then? think its probably something to do with the head unit earth but only getting feedback through the sub  didnt get a chance to look at it today as corrado problems always come in threes......or fours.......or fives  whatever it is iv got lots to keep me busy.
  8. haha no worrys. looks like a day of laying upside down in the foot well trying to trace wires tomorrow, my fave!
  9. Thats a good idea, be a bit fiddly to splice an earth in though without cutting wires.
  10. rule number one! lol. thanks
  11. after weeks of fiddling and searching for a solution iv caved and started a *help* thread Im getting feedback through my sub whenever anything that draws power is used, for instance Il turn the key and you get the feedback from the fuel pump, feedback from the indicators, brakes etc etc. at first i was told it may be a suppressor issue but checked with the car audio specialists and they think its an earth issue which i agree with. so far iv checked all the wiring to the sub which is fine so Im thinking it might be a head unit earth or something? i pulled the fuse box back and and one of the earth wires from the box gives feedback when you wiggle it, had trouble tracing it and the earth from the head unit so i wanted to know where the head unit earth is and what that wire from the fuse box might be? recently changed the aerial as well and had no need for the live feed that ran from my remote cable to the aerial. thanks.
  12. clocked an aqua blue heading north on the A3 near waterlooville at about half 3 today :D
  13. haha, maybe an obscene title was not the best way to go about this. i just wondered if anyone else has this problem really, i guess i wont attempt to strap it down any more and just let it extend (giggady) still need to sort out the hangers and pipe anyways as it swings a bit to freely  i cant stop it now.
  14. exhaust Im talking about! :norty: Im not sure if there is any stopping this but my stainless system seems to grow by about an inch in length when up to normal running temps. I have tried to strap it up to stop it swinging on the hangers but it just snaps the straps :brickwall: anyone know how i can secure it properly or stop it expanding? thanks.
  15. bias valve will be all the way open unless adjusted and yes wont work the same due to lack of travel but its not like your going to have a full car now right? iv set mine by adjusting the spring. as for tyre wear, did you have the wheels properly aligned when the weitecs where fitted? you should only get through top mounts if its a really hard ride. only other problems i can think of are speed bumps and pot holes :gag:
  16. Thats me! What were you in, I spotted another rado at Wheatley campus earlier today. I was on the u1 heading to the wheatly campus :D had my rado down for a few days but had to leave it at home this week. been a while since iv spotted someone on here  couldn't quite work out the shade of yours ,what is it????
  17. spotted one a minute a go coming throught headington oxford, m### gdf. Looked standard but in good shape. :D
  18. for the valvers you can fit mk2 16v ht leads, they have blue sets on ebay and other places but im not sure if they come apart to fit the sensor over. correct me if im wrong someone but the mk3 16v leads for the abf head should also fit and have the sensor so would probably be a better bet. the last set of aftermarkets i got from gfs came apart to fit the sensor, cost about £40 and lasted about 3 years.
  19. wow! looks lush with the new rims :notworthy:
  20. nice one dude, wish i had the time and resources to do this. did you clean all the engine bay up and re-wrap/reroute any of the looms? be good to see some bay pics. looks like a "proper job" :thumbleft:
  21. its weird cos i have the same wing replaced and its also more blue than aqua, they could be twins! oh btw loving the new seats :thumbleft: i think thats the only difference between them, i have all black interior and you have all gray. i think the bad part of being the owner is noticing all the defects lol.
  22. i always thought the same about yours tbh  i have parking dings and lacquer peel :( have you had a wing on yours resprayed?
  23. yea i saw the pics you put up, looking good on the 17's maybe a gum metal or black? will look mean 8)
