didn't really notice mutch difference with the induction noise as iv already removed the snockel and have a pipercross pannel filter, that seemed to make the biggest difference. i think it has improved the air flow slightly :) and really does make the bay look neater. the original plpe i had on there was a bit squashed and old so for 17 quid im very pleased! with the cold start & MFA conections, they go to that black plastic bend between the throttle and the powerrohr.
-
Yea no problems mate, just took all the plastic bits off and gave them a good clean, replaced the section with the powerrohr and hey presto! Jobs a goodn :D 08062010045.jpg[/attachment:yswmrkrz]

i see the guy selling the reconditioned heads on ebay just puts up one after another, so no shortage  would a single butterfly throttle off the golf mkIII 16v be better with that head do you think?
-
good to see your set on keeping the valver swompy, mines up to 150k now so im taking serious consideration into refurbing/replacing the engine soon the same as you as i have a oil leak and bad idle (still!), will be good to see your progress. make use if that nice new garage :norty: cylinder head looks mint and a good price, would you be willing to change to solid or polly mounts to fit the mani? or just find a flexi one?
-
Ah, i see the guide now, thanks. Yea i get the flicker when the ECU tests so im hoping that it comes up on the VAG/COM, it was a rear offside sensor iv changed but i had no problems when i changed the neerside rear not long ago. Had a replacement pump put on at the same time as the old one ceased.
-
only the gasket between the two sections of manifold, i never bothered changing mine and ive had the rocker off quite a few times, its a metal gasket so it stayed in good nick. Id advise useing gasket sealent as iv been chaseing oil leaks around the rocker cover in the past.
-
have the same problem after bleeding the system and fitting a new sensor, thought it was the sensor at first but the warning light used to turn off when hot so i gathered it was something in the engine bay. wont turn off at all now. do you have a guide to checking resistances? not really sure where to start if it doesn't come up as a sensor fault on the VAG/COM.
-
just going down for the show and shine then, you poser  the c's looking good man, im sure it will turn some heads :D will there be a convoy tomorrow?
-
if anyone's still interested i just fitted one of these today http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POWERROHR-AIR-INT ... 563cd54ef1 it looks good and fits very well with no knocking :D
-
probably leaking through the rocker cover gasket, i get a bit of oil sometimes as well. might change my leads over soon, could do with some seat launching action myself  do you use VAG leads?
-
as long as the nuts all the way on it all good, did mine up with a pipe wrench on a socket and the alenkey with a bar on the end  still tight tho :D

Petrol gauge stopped working the other day on my drive down to newquey so i took the pump out and the thing had actually fallen apart in my fuel tank :suprised: The arm wit the float had fallen off along with the little metal clip and the bottom filter so i had to fish around in 10 galons of fuel (filled it up as i had no idea how much fuel i had) but final got it all back together and working few pics from newquey zoo overflow 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf05052010024.jpg[/attachment:2xzxgz0l] 05052010026.jpg[/attachment:2xzxgz0l] :D

-
good luck for the MOT mate, VW usually get parts in quite quickly if youv ordered it already. lookin good btw :thumbleft:
-
spotted a green c with yellow fog and head lights on the way into portsmouth this eve, i may have rode the buss lane to get a good look at it as it came flying up behind me lol. Looked nice
-
can you get a link up mate? couldn't find any of the ones you posted pics of. looks like it would be a good fit if swompy's is knocking on the bend as long as theres enough clearance from the cam cover.
-
that's how its done on the Peugeot's and it does look good, i suppose you trading fiddling around for hours masking off 3mm gaps for messing around with bulbs.
-
can you put a link up for the ones youv found on ebay please?
-
yes sir. ironically i think there called fast flash resistors
-
they look better quality than the ones i bought for that price. might invest in a set of there and give them a go....... oh and i should think that they would need resistors, did you ask the seller?
-
mines a 9a and it only has one pipe on that section Picture 147.jpg[/attachment:39g2i1mo] the second and third power rohr pipes looks like they would work, not sure if the first one will fit.
