Hi, sorry to plague the forum with such inane questions, but my bonnet is quite sunken as it goes towards the windscreen, there is about a 6/7mm gap where its below the level of the wings. How do I adjust this? Thanks Paul

Ok will have a look later on! Paul

Hell, the battery is loose on my 16v, I cannot see how to secure it so could someone post a picture of theirs secured please I'll be able to work it out from that! Thanks! Paul

when the hazards are flashing (and the siren should be sounding) there is a relay clicking near the fusebox, I guess its under there somewhere. is it just a case of chopping the wires going to the unit? Thanks Paul

Hi all, the toad alarm in my c is causing me some stress, so far the problems outweigh the benefits so would like to remove it, I have disconnected the alarm system under the bonnet but its still causing problems, think there is a unit inside the car? Not sure which model it is, but it does the r/c/l as well as the alarm. Thanks Paul

just a quickie, been offered a mk2 16 valve exhaust system (all of it) and was wondering will it fit the c (1.8 16v)? Thanks! Paul

err.. seems the relay is missing, put one in and it works. but it gets wierder, there is a toad alarm fitted that kept going off so I unplugged it, now the indicators come on randomly!

Just checking the car over for an mot and it seems the indicators do no work, left right or hazards. The green dash light stays on, no lights on outside and no click to be heard from the relays. Fuse looks ok, could it be the relay? If so, which number is it? Thanks! Paul

My mate was in the audi, some girl ran into him on a roundabout in the 306. I know which one I'd have rather been driving!

Sorry to DP, but I'm going to get it resprayed (the standard paint really lets the car down) so would it be worth sourcing a vr6 bonnet and maybe wings befroehand and getting these painted? Is this a common bodywork improvement? Thanks Paul

Thanks guys, I'll look into the link! Is it worth sourcing a 2 litre engine to fit? Worth the hassle? Thanks Paul

Hi, sorry if this has been done to death but what are the model year differences between cars? I have an early 1.8 16v and would like to know the differences between them (bar the obvious engine sizes) and what are the best upgrades for the car? Thanks! Paul

It was due to this scirocco that I ended up with my corrado, but thats another story!... Every year we have a track day on the raf base where I work, usually only bikes but this year they have a day for cars too so me and a mate decided to go halves on an old heap to do the day with! After searching through various bmw's, jags etc we decided it would be best to get something that goes round corners! I decided on a scirocco as I have access to various tuning bits and have owned a few in the past. So.. the hunt was on! Scouring ebay, couldnt spend more than £100 as an aircraft mechanics wages are pretty poor! Eventually we secured a C reg GTX for £60, not been run for 2 years, tatty, broken window, knackered injection system etc. Bargain! So off we trot to milton keynes and pick the beast up; Once we got home, did a bit of work, got it running then promptly forgot about it, but collected some wheels, springs, spacers, battery, shocks, etc etc. Dragged it down to a gse building in work yesterday and started on the suspension, fitted the wheels, sorted the fuelling, removed the interior.. usual stuff really, encountered a running problem (it stopped running) so changed the metering unit and tried again, this time it started and backfired. Unfortunately it lit all the petrol on the airbox! After a few minutes of running around we got the fire out and called it a day! Went down today, fire extinguisher at the ready! Got her running and went for a burn, seems ok although we are fitting a 2.2 audi throttle body, kent cam and a new inlet manifold/plenum chamber. Also need to fit the braces front and rear. But its getting there! Will update the progress as we go along! (yes I know the wheels are horrible but they were cheap!)

Hi, Just joined the site, from north wales just bought a very very cheap 1.8 16valve which needs a lot of cosmetic work! Been after a corrado for ages, used to have sciroccos, bought one the other day too then this rado turned up!! Typical!! Anyway some pics, prizes for who can spot the different amount of reds in the bodywork! Looking for some wheels, a front grille and a window winder handle. Anyone? Paul
