Another one! I will respray it soon, seeing some of the shiny ones has given me inspiration!

Thanks, yes using 215's all round. Nice stretch too :) The coilovers, well they are solid for sure, I cannot really compare to other expensive sets as I have never tried any! The ride is harsh but then its a small price to pay for such a low ride, good on smooth roads!

Aww thanks guys, the car is sat outside smiling now :) its had a knock on the right hand arch and back panel, and has been badly filled and painted, you can see it a mile off, and the back arches were trashed by me a bit as I tried 'rolling' at home :? All to be fixed when she gets a lick of paint though! Veearrhsix; yes they call it character  I also own and ride a few classic two stroke bikes, and they have the same feel to them, 'will it get me home'? adds to the fun of a journey imo. The C does have a habit of losing clutch pressure in traffic, I think the fluid is boiling. Makes traffic jams fun and you have to plan a bit more, again all adds to the character  Cheers! Paul

My £300 heap is slowly getting better, I'm amazed at the german reliability, I have done about 6000 miles since I got it on the road 6 months ago, been to many bike shows (cannot carry stuff back from them on a bike!) and round a bit of the uk. Gets battered senless on some runs, last sunday coming back from Hereford for one, down the A5, fairly empty road, lush :) Have so far fitted brakes all round, stainless lines, coilovers (cheapies off ebay), wheels, milltek system, service items and got most of the broken bits working! Still a few niggly problems, wont start somedays or at least takes a bit to do that. Think the rear bushes are shot, feels funny on the bends at speed! Paintwork is shot, really bad! The front wing is a different colour, bumper paint is poor, paint peeling off the roof, obviously had a really bad paintjob but have got too many other projects needing money spending on them to warrant another session in the sprayers! Anyway, its good fun and I love it. Gets plenty of attention and tbh is fast enough for what I need. Just the fuel consumption lets it down, as with all the kr engines. May fit a 2 litre yet but I'm not convinced its worth it!

Not sure, but my valver came with a ghey powerflow system, was absolutely horrid! Got rid of it yesterday for a nice milltek system :) It may be worth going to an exhaust centre and asking there? They are usually quite knowledgeable! Pauk

AS per the title, I need a temporary repair to my car as the rad is peeing out now. I have a rad off a mk2 8v gti somehwere. Anyone know if it'll fit before I start taking bits off? Thanks! Paul

Cheers I'll give it a go..

Sorted, did some searching and have ordered a black and a blue sender.. Fingers crossed it fixes it!

Thanks peeps, I ran some flush through when I did the last service. I take it 'll need to whip the sump off to look at it? Got a gasket here anyway.. Can anyone direct me to these sensors? I dont have a book of haynes to hand.. Thanks Paul

Argh! Coming out of work today the warning beeper sounded a couple of times, along with an oil warning light. I thought it may have been a glitch so proceeded with caution. As I left the base I gave it a bit of stick, light and beeper came on again. Stopped, check oil.. seemed ok.. carried on, beeper all the way. bugger.. No real rattles from the engine, plenty of oil in there so what could it be? Any tests on the sender I can do? 1.8 16valver btw.. Cheers! Paul

Hi, since I've had my c the mfa computer has never worked, just stuck on time and 'mfa2' switch does nothing. Tried cleaning the switch to no avail. Any suggestions on fixing it, or should I just go through search topics on the subject? Many thanks! Paul

I'll have a look at it later, so odd... thanks guys :)

Well, tried searching for the timing marks on the flywheel, no joy there! So tried setting it one tooth either way, went backwards, the car ran but poorly, forewards, seemed to be contact between piston and valves so set it back to where it was. The power delivery just feels flat, no powerband to speak of. Could I have got the piping the wrong way round on the intake system? Anyone got a piccie of the timing mark on the flywheel?? Thanks Paul
-
Ok, so its possible then. It doesnt feel very underpowered but definetely not what it should be. Are there any timing marks I can get at that dont involve removing the bottom pulleys? The top one is quite easily accessible. Is there a mark on the flywheel? Thanks! Paul, oh its a 1.8 16valve btw :)

I rushed a cambelt on the other day after loads of stuff going wrong! Now I may be paranoid but it doesnt seem like the car has quite as much power, could this be because of: a)belt is a tooth out b)I'm paranoid c)one of the myriad of hoses was reconnected wrong or d)I'm paranoid, there is nothing wrong with it. Would it still run ok with a tooth out? I was always under the impression that the engine would run like poo if that was the case!! Thanks! Paul

yup saw it :)

Nice! Following this with interest as mine is many shades of red (no funky airbrushing found yet though!!) and I'm hoping to do similar to it!

97.9-98.9 for unleaded on the island :(
-
hey, mines got venoms bloody horrible wheels I agree! Just waiting on some new ones :D
-
Ahh snap! Well av/elec as the hawk avionic systems arent exactly complex! Although (if and) when we get the 128 it will be a whole different kettle of fish.. Do you specialise in one aspect or a broad range? What with the complexity of the typhoons systems.. Paul

Hi mate yes I'm civvy contractor. Unsure who gets the best deal as both the raf and contractors seem to get a hard time of it these days! Are you a trade?
-
It'll likely be the dash, a mates car had the same problem! Its easy to remove so just whip it out and drive down the road watching the cable to see if it turns. That will give you a definite answer!

Indeed mate

How do you go about getting this done? Mine is horrendous on fuel, doing about 50 miles to a tenner at the moment :( Unless you have the meter for measuring CO which is fairly expensive then you'll need to find a garage with the equipment. Also seems to be called Kryton tuning. Try to get a recommendation though. There is a guy around my way who is excellent and charges around £50, but I think I went through every tuner in the area before I found somebody decent. I tried using one of those little gas analyzers today, really hard for it to get a fix on the readings though. I'll look at taking it to someone decent. Looking at my mot, the co level was .61%, is this lean? Would a performance exhaust make that much of a difference? Mine seems to have one fitted, looks like its from the downpipe back although no idea what it is. No cat either, did they all have cats fitted? Thanks! Paul
