  1. just ordered two yoko's A539s £80+vat fitted from bearsden autos 0141 9581 616 let's hope these babies can stop me sliding about like I'm driving on an ice-rink, has anyone used these as Robert at the garage reckons they are the latest tread pattern?
  2. I have always though that the lights were pretty dull on the C, sounds like a pretty simple mod. What size of cable did you use for the new loom ? As the bigger the cable size the less resistance so the higher the voltage which in turn will mean brighter lights. (Just finished an electrical engineering course so its still fresh in the old brain)
  3. As you can see The STORM is booked in for the rolling road, We can meet up before to make arrangements as I think their is a convoy heading through from the west. Edit: Fixed quote for you. VR6 (and yes, I am bored! :))
  4. I was driving along a short piece of dual carriage way in paisley(Hurlet road) minding my own business. This bad assed scooby  was soon on my tail back firing as he was slowing down, I dropped a couple of gears in the storm and lost him for a couple of milli seconds. We got stopped at a set of lights there was the customery nod of appreciation on both sides as the serious dual began. The STORM was away from the lights first :D and it was third gear before he got his ass in front of me as his dump valve was hissing away. The scooby has the obvious advantage with the 4wd and turbo in the twisty roads but you have to give it to the corrado its a beautiful piece of german design especially with that V6 under the bonnet.
  5. I live at Strathcarron Crescent in Dykebar at the back of the mental hospital, what type of corrado are you in?
  6. It could be worth a try nothing like a blast of cold air in the intake to keep things moving along
  7. That's a good idea, that would be good if you could do that. Can it be put on the home page under CF USERS DISCOUNTS?
  8. cheers for uploading the picture and the explanation. Did you use any ducting to the front of the car for a direct cold air feed or does it work ok without it?
  9. I've had a few stiffy's in my time but what the f#*k's a sticky,
  10. I put in a cone fliter on my Storm, i have to agree it sounds fantastic especially when accelarating through the clyde tunnel  , but due to the high temperature that the engine runs at I don't suppose it will be upping the output by very much. I have got a K&N panel for my air box and would modify it to compare the difference. Only problem is that i can't open the image on the thread , any chance of uploading it again or sending it by e-mail
  11. I have negociated a deal with a garage that specialise in Volkswagen (20 Years in the business). They were formerly known as VOLKSCOT, but sold up a couple of years ago due to ill health. They are now back in business trading as BEARSDEN AUTO SERVICES LIMITED. They are based at Anniesland Industrial Estate in Glasgow (0141 958 1616). I use them personally and have no hesitation in recommending them to fellow Corrado owners. The deal is that if you mention myself (Clark Gourlay not Dick Dastardly or the Corrado Forum ) they will give you a 10% discount on Servicing or any other work that you may want to be done on your beloved. They will also fit any performance parts that you supply yourself, also at the discounted rate. Their pricing is a lot better that the dreaded VAG dealers anyway and they are using genuine parts. Robert is drawing up servicing costs and a detailed list of work that will be carried out for the different types of services that he will offer to fellow members. Hopefully this will be available over the next week or two. All types of VW can be catered for 8v, 16v,G60 and VR6, I will keep you posted will further details when they are available.
  12. cheers for the help I got the pump out with the use of a oil filter wrench, I changed the fuel filter and put in some Hotshots as recomended in another thread. I took it a run all day just to make sure there were no problems
  13. I didn't want to hit it in case it left some debris in the tank, but I will give it a go, I am I right to be trying to turn it anti-clockwise?
  14. cheers I was thinking about that, what about fuel system cleaner, what is the best to use?
  15. Evening to all you Corrado lovers, I stumbled across the website last week its makes good reading. Ive had my Storm since November 99. What a car, I have to agree with the comments that it is a bit below par under 3500 rpm. After reading some comments I contacted AMD to get more details on getting the car remapped, I am going to make the trip down in Sept to get it sorted out, cheers for the info. Anyway I have a bit of a problem that I could do with some help with, the fuel pump has had enough I got a replacement at the local VAG dealer £95 (not to expensive) I am having problems removing the original. I have taken the cover off in the boot and removed the top seal allowing access to the fuel tank. Looking at the new pump it looks as though it requires turning anti clock wise but it doesn't want to move. Anybody had this problem or know how to remove it?
