  1. It's a '92 model 2.0l 16v with pale blue cloth plus funny squiggly things on the centre panels.
  2. Thanks everyone, I think I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled. The last one I saw was even the same cloth as mine.
  3. What's the deal with those rear seat bolster thingies? I've seen them in cloth and leather and on different models/model years. Was it an option or something? I've got to have one,'cos apart from looking great they're obviously a super power/handling/fuel economy aid.
  4. Ican second that.I've been using Pit Stop for about 10 years now.Ken's very knowledgable, friendly and, most importantly, where corrados are concrned he has a good sense of humour.
  5. I'd haveto agree with jimborae( I'm no expert either) that something in the suspension is loose or worn.Remember that when it was current the corrado was held up as the car to beat in the handling stakes, punching far above it's weight.I bought my car already lowered and (I think ) stiffened with a mixture of Eibach and Koni goodies and I'm in no hurry to go back to standard, even given the odd inconvenience that lowering brings( scraping over the kerb to get off my drive e.g)
  6. I think it was your "troubles" that flagged the prblem up.
  7. Thanks for that. This is where these forums really come into their own.I would have been totally knackered with that kind of lock misery.Another invaluble tip I picked up from the forum was about the driver's side handle screw having a left hand thread.
  8. I'm as happy as a happy thing to hear that, 'cos on the ECP website the prices vary, depending on chassis number and door side, between 60 and 90 pounds. What gives?
  9. I'll certainly give that a go.I'm onnodding terms with some of the parts staff there, having owned several old VWs over the past ten years.Apart from the corrado, my wife drives a tornado red H reg Golf GTI( which some scally seems to be stealing from us bit by bit off our drive.)
  10. I'm pretty sure I haven't the skill to do the mod anyway.I certainly don't have the inclination. Also, I've been assured that the lock swap is dead easy.I can only dream about 40 pounds though;the price at ECP at the moment is nearer 70.
  11. It's a 2.0l 16v '93 reg(Feb) so I guess it could be a '92 model year.
  12. I have remote locking but unfortunately my alarm is a bit random.
  13. Yeah, something's snapped off alright. I heard it drop into the bottom of the door when I took the handle off.If I get hold of a new handle is it easy to have my lock in the replacement? I don't fancy a keyring full of keys.
  14. I've just found that I can't open my driver's door from the outside. What do I look for now? Has something snapped, bent, fallen off, come loose or any combination of the above?
  15. Thanks guys, its a 2.0l 16v by the way.I i may just do the sensible thing ieDO NOTHING at least until I've had it checked again.
  16. Hi there, I've just registered 'cos even though I've had the car for 6 months I just discovered the site by accident yesterday. When I had the car dignosed on the computer( I remember when they only got tuned ) theairflow meter showed a fault code.Although the guy cleared it he assured me it would return and I needed a new one. Before I splash out (even for a second hand one ) I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the car runs so well if the meter is u/s.The only way it seems to be out is that the fuel consumption is a tad heavy.I'm comparing it to my 8v golf which is used on similar journeys.
