The guide says I need to take the engine off its mounts to do that though....Doesn't sound like fun lol I'll give it a go next time I have a free weekend :)

lol it is common knowledge I belive...so I don't think they can sue me lol http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/spysh ... us_rs.html As for engine parts....Here at my factory we only make production air filters and cylinder head covers. We do have a stock of oil filters for the rado and i can get cheap pistons Head gaskets ect but they wont let me bulk buy (I have already checked!) And the 100mpg vw engine I have no idea about, we dont deal with vw on this site....but I bet the oil companys would pay billions for them NOT to make it! -
I work for MAHLE (Make engine bits) and were quoting for the new RS Focus. This think is going to be savage!, there talking about 320 horsepower and 4wd....This will be the next cult car without a doubt! just thought you petrolheads should know....lol

Thank god, my engine is fine....Water in the electrics....from a leaky water pump :) Thank god! Now to find that oil leak...

I do have a habbit of being very pesamistic, I'm going to spend my lunch hour trying to find the fault...but at the moment its nothing obvious....The HG seems fine though...hmmmmness.... I would love a 24v turbo engine....it all seems very complicated though... I'll go check at lunch what the fault is before i jump the gun 8)

Good source for a new engine. My VR6 decided to die the other day...Water streaming from somewhere with a seperate pool of oil....:( It sounds like its going to be expensive, I was just wondering whats a good price / source for a new ish VR6...Do vw still supply them? I say this as im going to need to balance this price against a rebuild..... Its all very sad :(

i just started the car to see whats what (Its been laid up in the car park at work for some time) idled funny for a minute, then i restarted. everything seemed fine but after another minute it died. Looked under the car and there is a small pool of oil seperate from a stream of water....I renewed the HG a few weeks ago...so now it looks like new engine time :(

the system is pressurised when hot, the cap should have a symbol on warning you not to attempt to open it! I don't play by the rules, I just get the job done 8) 8) 8) haha

I have been having some real big cooling problems since i got this car...The system slowly looses water over a period of 2-3 weeks so I probally do need to change the thermostat and housing...A nice job for the weekend. I think whilst im down there ill do the coilpack and aux water pump as well.... I have owned this car for 12 weeks....In that time I have driven it for 4 haha I got bummed hard!!

Is there a guide anywhere on how to change this? Cheers 8)

In a VR6, when the engine is warm...is it normal for the header tank to boil over if you open it?
-
I'm getting a funny noise from the rear right hand side of the engine. It's there whenever the electrics are switched on and when the engine is running but goes away when i take the keys out. It sounds like a gremlin....Or a motor running with shot bearings.... What could it be? MY engine recently dumped all its water out somewhere in the cooling system, but this noise has been going ever since i bought the car. Any Ideas anybody?

I work for MAHLE, everyone be nice to me!

i saw that the place in salisbury deals in them...been tempted...but i doubt they will be any good....there nearly the same price as some spring and shock kits

That pic of the corrado on g-werks open day looks sweet....The wheels are dodgy, but think of a high quality matt black paintjob with some super sweet polished bbs rs's...Would look the dogs nuts! Im not one for the rat look, but my mate painted his mk2 golf with a can of black paint and a paintbrush...it turned out pretty cool....It got more looks than most cars and had that understatedness about it...The best bit about the paintjob was the bumper sticker that read 'I drive a crap car to make up for my massive penis' My car is red, its forever in the garage being fixed, but i have to polish once every 3 hours otherwise it turns pink...I say go for the matt black look man! And when you get it done, I might even look into it for my VR6! The money I save on the paint job I could spend on my girlfreind....in fact...nar...

Alright guys :) I decided whilst my car is laid up for the next few weeks to kick off something I have wanted to do for a while...that is creating my own rims :D I have access to a cnc machine and tool shop but Im not really feeling the 500 quid a wheel ill have to spend on all that ally! So...what im gunna do is convert a set of golf mk5 steel wheels into some deep dish g60 rims (Im not too bad with a welder) What im gunna do is take out the center hub of the MK5 wheels i bought off ebay...reverse them and mount them 50 - 100 mm into the hub....Im gunna jig it all up so its true and proper...but what i need to know is the following... I want super low profile tyres...what is the lowest I can get for 16 in rims? I know its going to crash and bang...but i dont care :) If this works it will look sweet haha has anyone done this before? It would be sweet to see what it looks like :) Cheers guys....ill for now....I have to make do with staring at my mk5 golf rims and dreaming!

Hello, I got a VR6 corrado (In the garage at the moment still having some work done :'( ) and I am trying to get rid of my current Audi tt rims that have been fitted.... What I want for the winter is some g60 steels.... Is there any that were made in the 5-stud variety? They look so sweet and they would be perfect for the winter whilst I spent most weekends working overtime for some bbs rs's.... Any ideas?

I once had an mk1 escort.... and was driving up the a303 one evening when the belt broke and I had to dump it in a lay-by. After persuading my mate to come help me tow it back we drove to the car and found it had had all its windows kicked in and the seats taken out.... coupled to this a flat battery and I was up a creek without a paddle! We hooked a battery booster to the battery and towed it out on the main road in the middle of the night...it was snowing and I was sat on glass.... I was freezing cold when the lights went out and the brakes didn

Not to put a dmaper on the convo (Man, I really do suck!) but I have weitec shocks all round and allthough I find the ride superb there not that old and it appears as if the rear nearside one is already leaking oil.... Maybey im just special!
