yeah I'm gonna do a dummy build in the unprepared shell then take it all apart then start again. But at the moment: no garage = no project!!

Bit of a problem. I now have no garage to do it in :( I'm on with sorting something out so hopefully the project can continue!!
  4. cool I'll try this tomorrow. I was aiming to lose a little bit of weight from the car as well.

Yeah well I'm not sure what to do with the shell? How far do you sand it back? My plan was to start with the shell and get it perfect. Not sure what color? Originally silver but I love Alpine white like I have on my corrado now. Choices choices......
  6. so what exactly can be removed? and how? surely them plumbing would have to be different if you removed the abs pump? It wouldn't just be a case of simply taking things off.
  7. I need to know about this so any info would be great guys!!!

    lucky boy!!

I'm in the position where I can have a corrado shell for absolutely nothing!! its a 1990 valver. It's garaged and the lad i know will allow me to do whatever i want to it in the comfort of his own garage, using all his tools!!!! How good is that!!! I need to know where to start. I'm sure alot of you have done similar projects before and was wondering if you have any guidance? The bodywork is good but it is starting to shed it's laquer so I'm thinking of sanding it all down to bare metal and having it sprayed. Please any pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!
  10. alright just trying to help the folks thats all!!
  11. A couple of wheel references. Maybe sticky them for future reference? http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html http://www.alloyguide.com/
  12. do you think i should try them with VR6 mounts I have? I cant see what difference they would make really but it's worth a shot.
  13. Also, how can I torque the top nuts because i have to hold the spindle with an allen key so how do i get a torque wrench on there?
  14. what do i use to tighten it. Cant get a proper grip on it. Still cant understand why they stick up to much!!!
  15. well i can definately get my thumb inbetween. They are new top mounts. Weird eh? They are the old style ones which are apparently correct for my car (1993 16v). Could I use the VR6 ones? The weird nuts which are round that have two slots in the top that hold the mounts on? Do they need to be completely tightend down?
  16. recently fitted fk my coilover struts. Is it normal for the orignal top plates to be sticking up so far? My old suspension never use to. They also turn a little with the steering. Surely not right. Overtightened?
  17. update: My garage has been fighting to fit this manifold all day and it has been very poorly made. It fits around the PAS but the two outer pipes are about and inch and a half off lining up. Hopefully they can heat it and bend it into place. Not happy. Just so you know the make is tuning center kassel and they sell on ebay.
  18. Ok dude. Really sorry to hear that mate. Must be a really hard time for you. No rush with the part mate. I'll email you later on.
  19. yeah he's read the messages. I dont have his email address. Dont understand cos he seemed so genuine.
  20. well I bought one from Germany. They reckon it will fit a 2.0 9a with PAS. Fingers crossed
  21. yeah i am, bit more low down torque!!!
  22. forgot to ask, no special tools are required are they to do this? And the head doesn't need to come off does it? I'm going to do the cam belt at the same time. Cheers!!
  23. yeah the mount is sorted. I'm gonna just buy a manifold, if it fits it fits. If it doesn't - I'm skint!!! Ha Ha
