  1. can anyone shed any light on this? really need to get this sorted cheers
  2. cheers for that mate. Is it hard to do?
  3. bugger missed out on my manifold and downpipe. Does anyone know if raceland manifolds will fit a 2.0 16v with PAS? Cant find anything on that MASSIVE exhaust thread.
  4. I'm about to do this as well. As said is there any other parts that should be bought whilst it is in bits? Also am I right in saying you only replace the inlet cam? just leave the other one?
  5. yeah sorry I worded that badly. I did the bearings up properly so the wheel spins nice and free and I can just about move the washer with a screwdriver. I just dont get this at all. such an annoyingly weird problem.
  6. ok bit worried now. Both sides have come lose again. The wheels are torqued up to 120NM, but when I grab the tyre and push and pull there is movement?!?!?!?!?!?! I tightened the bearings up the other night, surely can't be those. Any ideas anyone?
  7. good points made there. I've learnt now to use correct new parts. Makes life so much easier. you buy the cheap parts but in the long run they are a waste of money!!
  8. right. checked the bearings and it turns out my wheels had come lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I refitted the bearings anyway but the bolts had come lose on both wheels!!! can't believe it. I always torque them up. I've NEVER EVER had this problem before. Erm.... any ideas?!
  9. yeah he said it was a hydraulic type one but £80 seems a bit steep!!!
  10. yeah did all that properly. I'll re-tighten them and see how we go.
  11. Well I've found a manifold and downpipe. £60 not bad!!
  12. Yeah it's drifted in properley. It's movement in and out as you pull on the wheel as if it isn't tightened up properly. Weird.
  13. yeah think it is but mine just passed it's MOT. I might of accidently unplugged the ABS warning light *ahem*. I've just been out to check my rear discs and there is back and forth movement in the wheels. That aint good!!!!!! There wasn't when I fit the bearings?!
  14. I know. I was struggling getting them off my old disc and I was stuck for time. I just presumed they would be ok, first rule is not to cut corners but on this occasion I did.
  15. I found a standard manifold in good condition so I might just buy that. I'm not too fussed about performance-just as long as everything works!!! I'll try and source a downpipe too. I dont know why they would have put a heavy duty mount on. It's made driving the car awful!!!!!! Cheers for the response mate.
  16. Do I need to put the ABS rotors back on the discs when I've replaced the discs? I haven't and feel I should have!!!! By the way my ABS doesn't work - never has so I'm not too bothered about it workin just need to know if the disc will still seat properly onto the stub axle without the rotor.
  17. Ok I recently had all the engine mounts replaced (front, rear and g/box mount) at my local garage who I've used for years. Firstly should the rear one have cost me £82 + VAT?!! Secondly, the vibrations which now come through into the cabin are terrible. I can feel it all through the steering wheel and through the centre console and it's rattling my dash board to death!!!!!! I thought that maybe they just need to "bed in" but that aint right surely? Just wondering what to do cos I would there is only one way to fit an engine mount. Also slight change of topic but my exhaust manifold has cracked in a few places and seems to be effecting the overall running of the engine. Should I get a stainless one or a standard one? I'm struggling to find any that fit a 2.016v with PAS. Also where the downpipe joins, it is leaking there. Can you get the gasket and screws (with springs) from anywhere? Cheers for any help!!!
  18. :confused4: There are definately sets with 4? Whats the difference then between the early and late sets? Longer hoses or something?
  19. Hi. Just about to order a set of braided brake hoses for my 1993 2.0 9a 16v rado and noticed some kits are 6 hoses, some are 4?! I have mk2 rear calipers if this makes any difference? Cheers for any help guys and gals
  20. weitec hicon gtn coilovers any good? They seem to be quite a bit cheaper than other coilovers i've seen. Cheers
  21. yeah they are nutted and bolted. Asked bahn brenner and they should of come with nuts. Bought it from a guy on here and he must have forgotten the nuts. Cant remember who it was though!! Ha Ha. Cheers for the help guys!!! Gonna get the drill out tomorrow me thinks. :)
  22. Yeah this is a rear one. so i have to drill the holes then tap a thread yeah?
  23. as above. any one ever fitted one? Not sure how to do it!!! It's the one that attaches to the side of the struts not on top. Cheers for any help!!
  24. on a 2.0 16v 9a. I'll try with a spanner again. There doesn't to be much room!!
  25. yo people. Just wondering how I remove the oil pressure sender? Any methods? I cant get a socket on there as there isn't enough room and I cant get a spanner onto it!!!! Please help!
