  1. Audi S2 values seem go be going up rather than down. Perhaps a bugeye Impreza. Or something crazy like a Maserati?
  2. That's really useful - many thanks. I'll go on their website and get myself a kit. (Think I might find myself an old bit of leather to practise on too, as I'm 100% rubbish at this sort of thing!) My specialist was talking of upwards of £500
  3. I've been thinking about your next move, Liam. If you don't get another Corrado, for the money I think a 350z or a Boxster are the best options. I moved from a 944 turbo to a Corrado VR6, and didn't miss the 944. With the Boxster you get the engine noise. Buy an older one, as by now if the engine was going to blow up it would have done it by now. Probably.
  4. Good call - thanks. Not sure it's worth £99 though. Can't see any strings/ties on it either. I'll email the seller.
  5. I'm after a cream leather seat for my Storm. The leather's damaged on the passenger saddle part of the seat. Just the saddle part would do (the bit you sit on) - passenger or driver side. Cheers, Anthony
  6. As per the title! Thanks in advance
  7. I recently bought Liam's Storm (cheers mate!). A great car, but the passenger seat has worn (in fact probably corroded, apparently) patches, including a small tear. Some pics: I've been chatting with a specialist. Looks like my options include: 1. get it repaired cheaply and badly, which will probably be noticeable; 2. get it repaired properly, which would cost hundreds (from my specialist); 3. get hold of a second-hand seat from somewhere; 4. put a cushion over the patches. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
  8. I know it's not a topic that's never turned up before, but I just wanted to check which bulbs people recommend. I'm on the Halfords website looking at "super brilliance", "super brilliant blue", "extreme brilliance", "ultra brilliance", etc. Is there much of a difference between them? Ta in advance.
  9. A fellow told me yesterday that there's a chance it could go down to 99p/litre by the end of the month.
  10. Any port in a Storm? Anyway, I've always thought it was disappointing that they didn't number the Storms. It wouldn't have been hard.
  11. I felt the same. And I too want an Esprit now. Make mine an S1 please.
  12. What happened to 5th Gear? That used to be more car-based.
  13. If that's the case, then woohoo! Thank you.
  14. This has probably been discussed to death, but I thought I'd be annoying and ask again: I keep coming back to considering getting another VR6, having sold mine many years ago. The main worry I have (apart from finding a good one)is the worry about parts - as I'll be using it as my only car. Is this a legitimate worry? (I'd alternatively be looking at other coupes such as Fiat Coupes, a Porsche 944, Toyota GT-four, etc.) Cheers!
  15. For me it would have to be a 911. Nothing else. Either a 996, or - if I wanted fun every journey - an SC.
  16. Interesting thread. I'm hoping to come back into VR6 ownership after many years away. (I was looking for a storm earlier in the year, but didn't quite find what I wanted.) I've considered lots of alternatives in the £3 - 5k arena, such as Porsche 944, Audi TT 225, Boxster 2.5, BMW Z3, Impreza, Mazda RX8, Alfa GTV V6... Nothing has ticked every box - below a 911 (which I can no longer afford) I find that everything is a compromise. So when I find a VR6 that I'm finally happy enough with (!) I think it'll be the best compromise for me.
  17. The parts issue is an interesting one, and although I became aware of it a couple of years ago I haven't given it much thought. Is it enough of a problem to put someone off buying a Corrado? I may go and see a couple of cars this weekend.
  18. I think I'll def widen my search to include all VRs. I'm most fussy about bodywork - if I can find one that's really good on that side, I can live with fixing other faults. So: great bodywork, original spec, leather. Pot of money at the ready. :thumbleft:
  19. Popped to see that one today. It's the first one I've looked at since I sold mine 6 years ago, so it's been a while. It drove beautifully, but needed a few bits and bobs doing. I'm not sure how easy it's going to be to find a minty one, but for now I've decided I'm going to be picky and see what else I can find. I may even forsake the Storm thing, as long as it's as minty and original as I can find.
  20. Thanks for the link. That's a good thread, and I like his 911. (Reminds me of my old SC, ah... those were the days!) I'm fussy about bodywork, so I'd have to factor in a full respray. Think I'll see what else turns up.
  21. Hmmm. Hold on, let me find the "jealous" smilie...
  22. Hi all. Having sold my Storm through this forum several years ago, I've been focussing recently on getting another. But where are they all? Just been internet searching and very little comes up. Are they all fading away? Or is it just the current climate?
  23. I breezed in around 2pm with my girlfriend, and was in time to see a few corrados, including Sam's nice example. Nice to meet him briefly. The green storm that was there has made me want to re-double my efforts in getting hold of one before the year is out.
  24. The first time I went to Goodwood (probably about 8 or 9 years ago), I thought it fantastic (and still do), and one of the things that most stayed in my mind was seeing a green Storm parked near the top of the hill. It was owned by one of the marshals.
  25. It's been 3 - 4 years since I got rid of my green Storm. (Was trying to get a mortgage at the time.) Fingers crossed by this time next year I'll be able to get another - preferably another green one (love the beige leather). There don't seem to be many around in original, good nick (as mine was). I'll keep my eye on the market.
