hi there a few weeks ago my coilpack went bust on the motorway, i drove home with the car chucking loads of unburnt fuel in the exhaust system, now its all been fixed for weeks but its has trouble starting cold, it will fire straight away, back fire in the cat and then die... after that i start it again and runs fine,. no oil consumption, no black smoke. just the backfire in the cat on the first cold key turn. any ideas? cheers will :)

right... well basically i was on the m5 going around 60/70 mph in 5 gear, all of a sudden i feel a loss in the power/smoothness of the engine.... i went to accelerate to see it was just me getting paranoid and i wasnt!! the car was making big vibrations on acceleration, and a strong smell of exhaust, in idle the engine sounds fine but wen i go to accelerate it sounds like an old american V8 truck :/ what could it be? also the oil is fine, water is fine, oil temp: 96 thanks will

sure is great! only a matter of time before the girlfriends gets beyond envious and demands i leave it alone. and yeah i was in america for months with work so let my uncle borrow my valver and still has it now. do you have an induction kit on your VR? i put a "ramair maxflow corbon cold air thingy mabob" on it but im worryed about shortening engine life :/ or just me not wanting to hurt my new baby haha :D

i have owned a 1.8 16V for a few years now and yesterday afternoon i picked up my new VR6 and OW... MY... GOD!!! i have been missing out!! i was always pleased with the performance and drive of my valver but this is a new deal all together!!! its AMAZING! it a black vr6 with 108000k on it and was registered in 1996 so one of the last. in and out is gleaming and i all i want to do is drive around! one thing that i like is when people in the garage say "nice car... is it a VR6?" i can reply "it sure is!" haha i supose once you get a VR you will never get valver :tongue:

okay what is the best for 108000 miles vr6 then? as in the numbers? and also im not sure on the current oil so is it best to do a full oil change rather then mixing? cheers will

hi there!! :) when i unlock my car the pump stays on for about 15-20 seconds!!! i can just hear "sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" its a bit annoying because im afraid to start the engine encase i overload anything!! im just sat there taping my knees in the morning waiting for it to stop lol any thoughts?? cheers will

cheers people!! i removed the number "18" relay and cleaned the connectors up and its all working now but there are 2 things that concern me: 1. there was melted plastic on the box were the relay goes, 2. heater fan only works on number 4. any advice??? cheers will

hi skinnyman9000!! i had the same problem on my rado and the answer is that you have a dogdy ignition "swich" not "barrel" if you take the plastic suround of around the stearing wheel you will clearly see the ignition barrel and there will be a plastic "thing" on the end of the barrel, this "thing" is the ignition swich and i can be removed by unscrewing 1 tiny screw but you are suposed to take the barrel of first but i managed to get the swich off without doing that. i think that most of vw's cars from 1989-1996 should be fine but you are best off getting a new one for £5-£10 to be honest mate. hope you can understand that and it helps haha cheers will

hi there! recently my electics are going mad!, thing keep cutting out and then cutting in again!! the effected components are: 1. wiper blades including washers 2. full beam head lights 3. heater fan 4. sunroof there mabye more but i havnt discoverd them yet, i have checked all the fuses and there all ok but im not sure were the earth wire would be for all these things?? any help would be great! cheers will
