Did anything ever come of this? I'd be interested in purchasing one or getting a copy of the instructions spoke about earlier. :) Cheers

I completely agree!!!!!!!!!! :D :D I fitted my mocal on tuesday and have been mega impressed. Again a 20 degree drop in oil temp!!!! :) :) And I'll say it as well. Many thanks to kevhaywire for advice and info. Superb! Cheers mate!! Dave :D Oh Mark. What do your water temperatures run at?? You see any change? I can't decide. I think negligible.

Stormseeker, Thats exactly the same key fob. Any intructions and info you have would be brilliant. Do you have the address for scorpion? That'll save me some money if I can get a certificate. Would i find the serial number on the module that sitsn behind/next to the glove box. Thanks for all your help!

At extremely slow speeds( The noise is from the front suspension both sides, although seems louder drivers side(probably because i'm sat on that side!! ). The only thing that i think it sounds like is the spring rotating and "twanging" in the top or bottom cup. I have eibach springs on koni adjustables and am starting to think maybe these aren't compatible, but I'm sure others have this combo???? It could be something completely different though as I haven't investigated. Anyone else experience anything similar??? Dave

Am I right in thinking volkswagen alarms fitted to all Corrados would have been dealer fit? If so, how can I tell which model of alarm is on my 94 VR6? Both key fobs have 1 concave rubber button, 1 convex rubber button, volkswagen written onto them, a switch on one side and a three pronged connector on the other side. I understand it won't be thatcham 1 approved. So in everyones opinion should I keep standard alarm and add clifford virtual key to meet my insurances needs or should i junk standard alarm and get a full thatcham one. If going for a thatcham 1 I want to keep the full closure(windows and sunroof) and remote start sounds appealing. Any one any recommendations? Brands and fitters? Cheers Dave

Hi I want to do the MOCAL oil cooler mod on my VR6 and wondered if anyone knows where I can source just the sandwich plate for a VR6. Also does the sandwich plate have an internal thermostat, if so does anyone know what temp this operates at? Cheers Dave
-
If the change in performance only happened after a thermostat change, then maybe they did leave the connector off. Although this may have a different effect than a failed cam position sensor. Otherwise: Part number is 021 907 601 A and description is Impulse sensor. And cost is asround £35. As for the star shaped bolts, you may be lucky enough to have an allen key that fits perfectly as I did. Since then though I've bought a set of correct splines which come in usefull when working on these VW's. Part number is Good luck! Dave

Hi, Is there anyone with VAGCOM or a garage with an alternative similar diagnostic system near to you? Could be cam position sensor(hall sensor) that has failed. This will cause a loss of 30-40bhp and also lower mpg. When I got my VR this had gone, but the software I was using said crank sensor had gone also. This wasn't the case. Apparently when the hall sensor goes it brings up both failiure codes. Should it be the hall sensor(more common than crank sensor) then the codes will need resetting. Hall sensor is £35 from VAG. Crank sensor a lot more I think. Dave

I've had the same problem as most people describe(Passenger footwell wet). Today I got round to stripping the car and finding the source of the leak. The air intake to the blower system is located in the front scuttle(in front of the windscreen). This is located on three metal pegs with one clip on the ourtside edge. On my car(94 VR6) the seal was knackered and doing nothing. Water would run into the fan and out of the various plastic housings. Homemade thicker better seal on the air intake and hey presto, no leaks! :D Water directed straight to drain hole. The soundproofing looks as if its going to take ages to dry, absorbs a hell of a lot of water as mentioned above. Dave

Thanks for your advice. Was a piece of cake. But........ I blatantly ignored which direction the float points in the tank. The gauge is now reading wrong so this position is wrong. Theres only two more options so I guess its trial and error!! Cheers Dave

What is it with VR fuel pumps just recently? On the way to work this morning and I cut out and couldn't restart my VR6. No prior warning! The fuel pump runs if it is constantly tapped with a screw driver in the tank! £111 from main dealer! Easy enough job anyone??? Dave

I'm based in Stoke-on-Trent, fluctuating betwen Newcastle, Sandbach, Barcelona, Belgium and Hungary. I'd heard about the key chip thing before but don't knoe a lot about them. Only had the VR for 6 weeks and been out the country for 4 of those. I have to get a thatcham 2 immobiliser for the insurance and so the factory item might be in the bin if its causing problems. Dave
-
Can someone explain the factory immobiliser to me? I went to VW and they said that VR6s had immobiliser from factory but the VW alarm I have is dealer fit. How does the immob work then? DazzyVR6, How do you bypass? Dave Oh and Henny, Wherabouts are you in SE Cheshire?

Anyone experienced anything like this: Came back to my 94 VR6 parked in town just. De-armed alarm and unlocked as usual(VW fitment alarm). Turned ignition, all dash illuminated as normal. Turned to start but would not even attempt to turn over. Attempted to start car numerous times but no luck. Armed and disarmed alarm a few times. Still no luck starting or turning over. Popped the bonnet to take a look and noticed the electric water pump was spinning extremely erratically. So much so i could smell the electric motor getting hot. I disconnected the battery as the water pump was now beginning to smoke. Everytime I connected the battery the pump started spinning itself into oblivion again. At this point I decided to give up and went back into town with a view to calling the AA. Came back to the car 30 mins later and thought I'll have one more go of connecting the battery. This time the pump didn't make a sound, the alarm went off. I deactivated the alarm, started the car and came home. Again ideas anyone? I don't wanna be stuck for another hour again somewhere else. Cheers Dave

Right! It the switch. Its kippered!! Wheres the best place to source a replacement? VAG want £70 and Eur car parts £60. Any other suggestions? Dave
-
Yeah, I've spun the rheostat up and down an infinite number of times. I'll have a closer investigation tomorrow. Cheers for you suggestions anyway. Dave

Hey everyone, Finally bought my first C yesterday. An M plate aqua blue pearl metallic VR6. How ever on the drive back(as it got dark) I noticed that nothing was illuminated on the dash. I'm thinking first thing that needs investigating is the feed from the switch and roller switch. Anybody had any similar experiences? Cheers, Dave

Hi, Does anyone know if the standard alarm on a 94M VR6 would be insurance recognised? Just bought my first VR yesterday and gotta give the insurance company a call. Cheers, Dave
