  1. mines a VR on a P reg...think it probably sat at a dealers for a while before it was registered...
  2. sitting at some lights in town tonight, guy pulls alongside in a Jeep Wrangler...looking at the car, then puts the window down and shouts something like - "nice car mate, used to have one about 10 years ago, clocked it at 140 along the M74 when it was getting built, one of those VR6's....and that wing going up at the back...f*ckin' brilliant!" then drove off.... made me smile!
  3. I had initially thought that someone had too much time on their hands in Photoshop...but alas its the real deal... :cuckoo:
  4. interesting reading - for me, its not about the performance but the 'exclusivity', the noise, the head turning it does, the shape, the fact that its a 20yr old design and still it doesnt look out of place, the character and soul.... Yeah lots of faster modern cars out there but it doesnt interest me. I've wanted a Corrado since I first saw one when I was a kid. I've had lots of people in my car who had never heard of one and not one person doesnt like it...infact I get asked to come round with the car, so they can see it and have a drive! That means more to me than something that'll scream off the line, etc etc... only my 2 cents...

    Passat W8 ...

My dads boss has one which he uses when he's over from Holland. I got given the keys for the evening and took it a lengthy spin around the city and motorways...amazing machine to drive - 280bhp, 4.0l, 0-60 in 6.5s if I remember correctly. Its very understated but great fun to drive, especially with the 4wd. I pester my dad everytime he's over from Holland to get the car again! It was a good laugh flooring it at the lights with the guys in their 3 series beemers, mercs...next set of lights they'd pull up beside you and eye the car up and down! Great stuff!

    no dip or full beam?

as far as I know its upgraded - pretty sure the guy who I bought it off said it was. It was pissing down when the problem started...it rains a lot up here :( No flash either, chubbybrown. Just sides all the time... :( where would I get waterproof holders? update - was driving tonight and lights seem to work ok sometimes (dipped that is). If I switch them off, then back on then nothing happens...?! I can turn the car off, leave it for a while come back, turn on and dipped seems to turn on....
  8. Got a problem - was driving down south at the weekend, got to my destination turned the car round and all of a sudden my full beams just died. Both sides. dip was fine. Had a look around, fuses, etc couldnt see anything. Then tonight, I checked the bulbs, didnt see anything. Now I've lost my dip lights too....?! Resistor on passenger side is unplugged and the lights have been upgraded....any suggestions? Shorted relay perhaps? cheers chaps h
  9. ah gotcha... tried to create HDR stuff in PS but doesnt seem to work - keep getting some error saying there's not enough Dynamic Range or there abouts...I have 3 images with 2 stops of exposure either side...bit frustrating! Any ideas?
  10. new ATE disks and pads all round. First time I done them - bit of a c*nt changing the back 2 but all fine now! :D
  11. nice one neil, Yeah d300 would be sweet or even the new d700... for me the 200mm f2.0 would have to top my list at the moment - love differential focus stuff... @ ProdigalSon - loved the explaination for bracketing - "I think it's when you get your frank and both beans out in public" Made me laugh... But with the RAW format, do you still find a need/use for bracketing? Or you into HDR stuff?
  12. excellent...bit annoying when I need to keep taking off the 70-300 to put it in the bag! Will check it out when the time comes... so what kind of photography you into? Or does it just come everywhere with you and used when you see something good?!
  13. Nice one - Nikon like myself and practically exactly the same kit! Nikon D80, recently upgraded from a D40, which I still have AF-S 18-70mm AF-S 70-300mm VR AF 50mm F1.8 Polarizing and UV filters Manfrotto XPROB190 with 485RC Ball head old manual 135mm f2.8 (Tokina - superslick and heavy) also still got my 18-55mm and 55-200mm kits lenses that came with the D40, but dont really use them now Cheapo monopod Lowepro AW100...but need AW200 as the 70-300mm feels a bit cramped in there! Adobe CS2 and Lightroom Aperture (dont use much as it eats power on my iMac) I was toying with the idea of going for a D200 but thought I'd develop my skills then invest in teh D300 at a later date, or perhaps the new D700 if ££ permit! some pics of my corrado here - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=70406 hate the way web browsers sap the colour from the images...they look washed out! :( :censored: :pale: h
  14. thanks guys... @ jules - where abouts in Lanarkshire are you? I was visiting a friend yesterday who lives in Braehead, previously just outside Forth...hopefully meet you someday! @ Veearrhsix - see what you mean, but its just the road...there's a drain at the front left tyre - does look a bit deceiving! The car does actually pull very slightly to the left - will get tracking sorted! @ kangaroo - I certainly am having fun and I hope it contiunes! Yeah backddrop is good...some small Photoshop Lightroom adjustments but there are blue lights where I took the pics. They're taken right outside my work, where I park the car so i can keep an eye on it and admire it! :D Let me know if you want some high res pics for the memories! cheers henk
  15. another one for you... that other trash doesnt deserve to be in a list with a Corrado...!
  16. hi - into photography myself...what kit do you have?
  17. it will be needing driven...I dont think I'll cope being away from it for a week! Hopefully the totty over there will keep my mind off it! h
  18. sounds good - I'm away this weekend then off to Ibiza on tuesday! group of 10...woot! will get something sorted when I'm back...unless I bump into you in town...not literally tho! h
  19. Hi Andy, yeah easypops just informed me that your the owner - I've passed last week or so, whilst delivering decals for my friends 1973 911 Carrera RSR which is getting resprayed at Buchans in Rutherglen and noticed your car! Not in Halfords that much but I'll pop up soon with the car if your about! I'm sure I was there about a year ago and I noticed your black one and thought...man I want a Corrado bad! Hopefully see you at some point soon! :salute: h
  20. ah right I see...supposedly the guy who was selling the Storm that I looked at initially told me that andygal was interested in his Storm when he was at Halfords...maybe not now! Might pop down and see if he's about, see what he thinks of my purchase! Let me know if you want to pop round for a look at the car! h
  21. cheers guys - hasnt quite sunk in yet that it's mine - I'm living a childhood dream! Its like when I got a lend of my dad's bosses Passat 4.0l W8...it was great but I didnt own it...its like that now! Wasnt a great fan of black cars, but the more I look at this the more I like it...plus, wopuld I be right in saying that you dont see many in black?? h
  22. cheers for the comments guys - yeah she is a beaut! Very glad I saw it early and got my finger out and bought it! Its great to drive - I don't like getting out of it! Its not the speed that I like most, its the noise it makes! Makes me grin every time and put the foot down. I took my mate for a spin in it this afternoon - he's always liked them and I havent seen a grin on his face as he had today. Loved it...and now very jealous! He advised me of a small car wash place which I took it to, as driving up from London caught a few flies, etc...I paid the guy and he said "nice car by the way"...of course I had to agree! I really like it when people appreciate what these cars are and not fob them off as old and crap! Rust is nothing major. There are a few rust spots underneath the spoiler, above the plate but nothing too bad. My mate does car bodies so will take it along and see what he can do. @ billcor - yeah very glad I left the Storm behind. I might pop over and see John and show him what I found! @ easypops - likewise - I have seen you about but it was about a year ago...driving past my flat, I'm in the new gorbals, opposite the Premier Inn..I thought you were the owner of the green VR6 that sits at Halfords at Shawfield stadium... @ belfastfumanchu - yeah the pics were taken right outside my work lastnight on nightshift (which is what I'm on again tonight :( ) Photography is my other interest so it was good to get the tripod out lastnight when no-one was about and take some decent photos. Might take some more tonight as the car is clean again and I'm not that busy! :) Rust pics... Corrado92.pdfdownload-1.jpg[/attachment:25uhz58j] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfdownload-2.jpg[/attachment:25uhz58j] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfdownload-3.jpg[/attachment:25uhz58j] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfdownload-4.jpg[/attachment:25uhz58j] download.jpg[/attachment:25uhz58j] I dont have any major plans at the moment for the car - I want to keep it close to original as possible but I can see myself changing the wheels for BBS RCs at some point. I think they look very good on the Corrado. I have some contacts for wheels so will have a word with them, see what he can do for me! I'll obviously keep all the bits that I change. Maybe debadge the grill....and thats about it! Will keep yous posted! cheers henk
  23. Hi Guys, Just thought I'd share some pics of my first Corrado, first seen and bought on this forum! I'd looked at a Storm a few weeks ago as some of you know, but walked away then when on nightshift, I saw the P Reg Black VR6 for sale and I knew I had to contact the seller, Kangaroo...and Friday, was in London - early train from Glasgow Central to Euston to go and collect it! Car was in better condition than what the pictures showed. Matt has really taken care of it and I hope that I can continue it! Before long I was heading back up the long road to Glasgow. Fantastic drive back up, apart from having to go via M1 since there were some bad accidents on the M6. Weather was great for driving. I never saw 1 Corrado...just a Scirocco. I thought some of you may have been stretching your cars legs in the fine weather! Also got a chuftie from a guy in a van who pointed at the car and gave me a thumbs up! (technically that should go to Matt!) Altogether a very enjoyable experience and great to meet Matt, a gentleman indeed! Hope you have a great time travelling Matt and thanks again! Here's some pics... stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfcorrado-1.jpg[/attachment:3w2lh2r1] Corrado92.pdfcorrado-2.jpg[/attachment:3w2lh2r1] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfcorrado-3.jpg[/attachment:3w2lh2r1] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfcorrado-4.jpg[/attachment:3w2lh2r1] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfcorrado-5.jpg[/attachment:3w2lh2r1] corrado-6.jpg[/attachment:3w2lh2r1] Cheers henk
