  1. its as low as I can comfortably get it without the tyres catching on everything! a fact thats proven by my front nearside wheel which is 'one finger space' lower (for an as-yet unknown reason) catching fairly regularly. Whats the thoughts on removing archliners on VRs? good idea/bad idea? just thinking for the future and the posibility of coilovers giving a bigger drop.
  2. looks smooth and mean, pleanty of potential there! nice!
  3. its been in a shunt in its previous life, so i'm not going to rule out the worst-case yet although I dont think it'll be a twisted chassis...now that you mention it the damage was on that side at the front. I also know the bushes need changing so hopfully its down to that, cheers steve, pretty much confirmed what i was thinking but its good to have the opinion of someone with more experiance!
  4. on the drive up to my parents house this afternoon on fairly bump roads I found that the front nearside tyre is rubbing on the arch liner over more servre lumps and bumps, yet the offside is fine. Upon closer inspection I (or rather my dad) noticed that the nearside is a good few mm lower than the offside, this may have been the case for a while but i never noticed it on the 15's. what are the probable causes? my first thought was the top mount, but I thought the vr6 mounts were supposed to be fairly resiliant? theres no rattle like there was on my 16v topmounts when they went. other than being lower everything else seems to be working as it should be, no clunks or clangs or anything. anyone got any ideas? ta
  5. cheers all! still super-paranoid over them at the moment and the spacers are creating a fair amount of steering wheel wobble at speed, so the sooner I get the caliper carriers 'modified' the better. also think one of my front struts might be goosed since the front drivers side was catching on bumps and when I investigated that side is a good few mm lower!! Storm, well i'll be... I looked everywhere for pics of them on a corrado and could only find them on a20lee, should've asked really I guess! mmm flaired arches...i'm tempted!!
  6. I'd go for light smoke if i were you, I've seen a few cars around here with silver tints, they just look a bit naff IMO
  7. they're 205/40/17's tornado's :? went for the cheapo option! they dont catch on either lock which I was suprised about.
  8. I decided that I couldnt stand seeing the wheels sitting in my hallway anylonger, so got some 3mm spacers for the fronts and put them on this morning. Driving VERY carefully at the moment for fear of doing them any harm what-so-ever. bring forth the opinions! hanging out the window trying to get a shot of them spinning...failed but I still quite like the photo!
  9. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23226&highlight=doorcards there you go mate, its probably the screw behind the speaker grille thats caught you out.
  10. I've had to take out all the trays in both my install adventures, guess they're classed as part of the dash? anyway... mine are full-range infinity 5002i's and fit fine. I've got (previous model) e-motions in the tweeter positions and they sound superb for the money, my 4" ones cost £60. Treble might be a bit sharp for some unless you can tweek the EQ with your headunit.
  11. like the title says really, does anyone know what size/type of nuts I could get to screw onto the plastic pegs which the door speakers slide onto? would be nice to be able to get them sorted with something generic from B&Q rather than having to trail to the dealers again for ANOTHER handful of 20p parts... ;)
  12. engine looks shiny enough in your avatar and thats a 'bit' isnt it? granted a rather large bit bit....
  13. sounding alot more positive phat, glad to hear it! theres nothing worse than getting frustrated with something you've put alot of time and effort into although somehow when it all comes together it makes you feel a whole lot more satisfied. At least you can be quietly smug with the fact that what you've achived can never be called easy! Looking forward to seeing the car in the metal at VW festival (if you're going?) admiring all the shiny bits and nodding/pointing as if i understand what everything else does ;)
  14. had uprated light loom fitted, cheers Garp! just waiting for it to get dark for a proper test!
  15. if its a 92 it'll have the early style doorcards, which the grilles slide off. I expect they're the same as the late ones in that you have to take the doorcards off and mount the speakers from behind, easy job, 30mins per side . there was another thread recently where I explained how you remove the doorcards.
  16. smoothed out with solenoids under the wing-mirrors?
  17. got a direct link to it mate? i cant find it!
  18. I thought about spacers, but being et32 they stick out a bit as it is, and another 3mm out might be pushing it, i think they may well catch the arch lip! :?
  19. ta kev! got some wax for that exact purpose, i'm terrified of ruining them! just trial-fitted one to the front to see what the clearance was like over the calipers...they catch! only by a few mm though so that'll have to be ground back. doesnt look like they'll be on today! :(
  20. well spotted! come on guys with a bit of detective work we can figure this one out! turbo'd valver?
  21. looks good mate! as for what it is... well its a 92 and has the early interior with a late bonnet, since your sig quotes lots of turbo related names, i'm guessing its not a g60, and with the late bonnet it may well hide a vr6-T (unless thats a red herring as was done for looks!) saying that with the conversions going on at the moment it could be just about anything!! ok...has it got a turbo'd chevvy big-block?
  22. not if you use the lazy/poor mans method involving elastic bands between the front and back wheels :D it worked on a remote control car I had once, lupos arent much bigger are they?
  23. once it gets grip! surely though thats just an excuse to 4wd it :D
  24. the bit near the end with him overtaking the lambo is surely a little iffy?
