  1. nice video, the guys pronouciation (spelling??) of 'cohradhoe' is a bit annoying but the way he says 'pissaaart' is just funny!

    New paint job

i was hoping it was a Kandy colour, I saw a Kandy orange model T ford custom car type thing a few years ago and nothings equalled the depth and shine on that thing! get it done!
  3. comfort and low cost over performance capabilities i would guess, the harder poly bushes will give a firmer ride which wouldnt appeal to the mass market.

    New paint job

very nice, i bet that photo doesnt do the colour justice at all. out of interest is it a 'Kandy' colour or is it just called 'candy apple red'?
  5. VAG numbers for rear bushes are as follows: 191 501 541 (for KR,PG,9A,2E AND ADY) 1H0 501 541A (for ABV) in answer to your question Rack, the parts listed in the first post will fit your g60 according to the info on ETKA, and just about any other corrado! :D
  6. i get being quiet about the wheels you're getting or mods you're doing if you're working on a show car that you want to be a bit special and you've had a new idea, but IMO the 'community' is about sharing info. to be fair and defend lee, he did PM me and tell me the issues with the wheels, so its not like he wasnt sharing the info. in addition to kev's info above, http://www.styledynamix.co.uk is where I got mine, £999.99 including toyos, but I went for a cheaper tyre to get the price down a bit! Shahid is a very helpful bloke and was more than willing to go through multiple different options and advise on the styles, fitments etc etc.
  7. on a jap car maybe but on a corrado? I'd rather repair the chips. my suggestion would be dont let your brother help wash it!
  8. I'm in need of a hand with some part numbers for the various bushes across all models so I can sort out the powerflex group buy. would someone with ETKA be so kind as to them up for me? Ideally as many as you can list off would be great as the group buy isnt limited to specific bushes, but in particular I'd like to know: Front ARB mounts to Body Front Wishbone Front Bush Front wishbone Rear Bush Rear bush (OEM allows flex for PRS, not sure what the correct name is!) for all models! Cheers in advance.
  9. AFAIK they're for all corrado's with some slightly different part numbers for certain bushes on different cars. I'll post asking for help from someone with ETKA then we'll have some definative answers.
  10. g60 is about 160bhp stock, and can be tuned up over 200bhp, the vr6 is 190bhp and (using guy heartly as an example) can be pushed to over 300bhp! obviously it depends on your budget, doing that level of mods to either car is going to cripple you insurance-wise. As for the extra running costs, the 16v is, in engine terms, fairly simple. Its shared with a few other VW's and many mechanics know their way around them, cheap parts and cheap(ish!) labour. The g60 and vr6's are more complex, basically they're less common engines, meaning parts are more costly and work is more expensive, its also harder to find someone who knows what they're doing with them. oh and they use more petrol :D -edit- heh, beaten to it point-for-point by jim! must learn to type faster...
  11. i paid £1300 TPFT on my old 1.8 16v when I was 23, the VR is costing just under a grand fully comp. I used to winge about how much it was, but it just become the 'norm' now. its the price you pay for having powerful tastes at a relativly young age!
  12. I've been speaking to TurbTechnicssMK1 (Alec) about getting some superflex poly bushes from him, and wondered if there would be any interest in a group buy? Alec has already kindly offered free postage (in the uk) on the bushes by way of a discount. Some rough prices, based on the bits I'll be looking to replace: 2 x Front ARB mounts to Body (replaces VAG part number 191 411 314) =£8.86 the pr; 2 x Front Wishbone Front Bush (replaces VAG part number 357 407 182)= £23.99 the pr; 2 x Front wishbone Rear Bush (replaces VAG part number 191 407 181E)= £47.47 the pr; the above VAG part numbers apply to KR, PG, 9A, 2E AND ADY and ABV. (thanks to 20v turbo for looking them up) 2 x Rear bushes (replaces VAG part number 191 501 541)= £58.14 the pr the rear bushes are NOT suitable for the vr6, unfortunatly superflex are still developing those. and a bit of background on superflex... The company started producing bushes back in the early 80’s, and have been doing so ever since; All bushes are poured and oven cured (not injection moulded); Outstanding benefits of SuperFlex are handling, road holding, suppression of NVH (noise, vibration, harshness); Last up to 6 time longer than standard bushes (and some competitor bushes); Tough, durable, easy to fit, and exceptional ability to withstand friction; Also Come with a 3 road warranty (if fitted in line with instructions provided). Where tubes are provided for the bush, they are made from Stainless Steel any takers? - This thread will run til friday 22nd of april to guage interest, I'll create an 'order' thread on friday afternoon -
  13. for the best sound you really want the speakers up front where you're sitting, and a sub enclosed in the boot for a bit of extra punch to the bass. The general consensus is that having the trebble and mid bass supplied by dash speakers and door speakers with a sub giving the low end frequencies is the best route to take. you dont 'have' to go for audioscape pods, you can easily get speakers to fit directly into the doors which is what i'm doing.
  14. well the fact Lee had them on his car and they looked so good has reassured me everything will be fine with a bit of fiddling, just waiting with baited breath for delivery now!
  15. well i suppose theres worse projects to be 5 years behind!
  16. I didnt realise you'd had a set lee, there was me thinking I was being all original!
  17. more conclusive proof for me would be the camera pointing out of the windscreen at the road showing the car stationary, panning down to the speedo, the 0-60 sprint then back up to the windscreen to show the car moving, possibly with music playing. that way there can be no doubt about rolling starts, axle stands or speeded up footage.
  18. IIRC the speaker fit in behind the doorcards, meaning you'll need to take them out to fit the speakers (probs best for running the wires too!) so yeah, just put the old covers back in and you'll be sorted.
  19. http://movies.mdr.me.uk/movies/dscf0674.avi just in case its happening to anyone else...for some reason playing that 'in browser' keeps crashing both IE and firefox :?
  20. I've got the same alarm, the other two buttons can be programmed to control the 'extra' features of the alarm if they're installed such as remote closure of sunroof/windows without arming the alarm or an auto-start function. The guy who installed mine said it really wasnt a good idea to try reprogramming the unit yourself, thats why the fitters have to take courses! hope that helps
  21. thats what i'd like to know, whats the deal Lee? 5x100 et32 should be ok other than a bit of caliper/carrier contact unless you grind them back a bit, should they not? come on mate i'm worried now!
  22. does it heave speakers in the doors already? my valver was a 1990 and didnt, never ran cables down to the doors myself but i cant imagine it being 'too' hard. Just in addition to what bcstudent said, you can earth the amp on the bolts for the rear seats so long as you make sure the cables on going to get nipped by the catches. Its easy to do, I've done it twice now with both my corrados, its about a hour and a half job to get it looking tidy, either run the rca's down one side of the car and the power down the other (tucked under the pastic door trims) or down the center tunnel which i think may be more tricky. either way good luck!
  23. did the baby come with it? are they the early type s-line which i think were a softer alloy?
