  1. photo shows boost runs, and some of the wiring in proress
  2. hey, from memory the tacho is white / purple, the fuel pump orange / red and 12v supply black. i would have to double check that for you.
  3. ha ha an update; Yesterday was a very productive day with the wiring we quite litterally ripped out all the 9a sensors and wires leaving us with a bundle of remaining wires, we identified the tacho, fuel pump relay and 12v supply wires and figure some of the rest my be for the diaognostic port under the gear gaiter. We have also almost completed the new loom using the questionable qpeng distructions - honestly my advice to any one who isnt seriously clued up already would be to pay the extra and get them to do it. The diy kit isnt that easy, very time conduming and you need a decent crimp tool. Having said that, none of us has ever made a wiring loom before and we are actually getting there with it now. There is a particularly dubias bit in the instructions which states that when using an agu loom you have to reverse some wires on the tps sensor, but im going to have to call them on that one. unless any of the 20vt qpeng agu running people on here can help me??? as for the throttle cable, my 16v one is not long enough as my inlet is on the drivers side of the engine bay.
  4. well as luck would have it when my friend was in a local auto factors he noticed some "shell" fully sin oil at a bargain basement price, the plan is to run it for a few hundred miles then do an oil change and put some decent oil in. this shell might be ok it was down from 40 ish to 16 quid. bargain. debating if or not to take the sump off and clean the strainer thingy out, as ive read that they can get blocked up. still waiting on 2 silicone hoses to finish my boost run and 2 for my bottom rad hose from sfs. Have you sourced a throttle cable yet? the qpeng guide says a mk2 1600 i think? im not sure what model they are refering to? any one got a part number?
  5. ok guys aiming to the wiring tomorow got the whole day booked off my girl friend. think we are going to start with the 20vt wiring. We have the budget version of the qpeng kit meaning me have to adapt the look using their instructions. Athough in my opinion the instructions could be alot better, i think this is achieveable. Then its the task of removing the old wiring, ive already stripped the tape back off the loom to reveal a huge bundle of wiring ; a lot of which goes to the ecu, im assuming you remove the wires from the old ecu to the engine bay one sensor / plug connection by one until left with only a few wires. has any one done this recently using the qpeng kit?
  6. we had to cut the metal pipe and use some silicone hose and clips to join it up again, it seems to work just fine. im not sure if my feed is the same as yours being an agu? take some pics !
  7. Hi all, over the weekend quite a bit of progress has been made; pas all bolted on, cooling system hoses all sorted, oil changed, down pipe fitted, etc.. next on the agenda is; wiring, throttle cable, finishing off boost pipe work / vacuum pipes. WIRING - i swear this is just a nightmare. help.
  8. thanks for that, hopefully we will get some more done on the car on sunday so no doubt ill have more questions then!! dd you find your 20vt conversions reliable once opperational?
  9. WOW thats uber useful to know!! Ive started to strip back the loom and remove uncessary sensor wires etc.. does any one know how the boost control valve shoule be plummed in? ive got an idea one side is into intake pipe work, one to actuator and one to inlet manifold?
  10. wow cheers for that, i need to get on his case in a friendly way! Its not so much the new loom which is a problem, its more what to do with the old loom, and how to get the temp gauge / rev counter etc working and where to find the wires etc.
  11. Hiya, i got the engine from some one on here and got ecu etc.. seperatley. I believe the engine came from a mk1 golf that had been broken.
  12. to be honest were not that sure about the wiring, every thing else is almost sorted or can be with relative ease. im hoping to find some one on the forum who has done this them selves to pick brains :D
  13. hi all, me and my 2 very good mates wardy and masey have started work on the 20vt conversion, we have got; agu lump with ko3s turbo. Qpeng diy kit qpeng down pipe fmic heres what we have been up to;
  14. did you fit the engine / wiring your self? it just im half way through the same conversion and would love some advice on the wiring ??? :D
  15. im already contemplating that and selling my ecu ?
  16. Hi, im just about to start a 1.8t agu conversion to my m reg 2.0 valver. Im going to try and use stadard Agu ecu, is there any one here who has done this to there corrado, i had a look in the definative 20v thread but with no answers ahoy! The ecu has been de-imobilized. I need some adice with the wiring and how to get my temp gauge, rev counter oil light etc. working on the new engine. cheers Ollie
  17. cheers for that, yeah it needs doing every now and again! red is a nightmare. but looks so sweet once you have spent a couple of hours on it. 8)
  18. im a newbie to the world of 20vt conversions although ive owned a 20 v t powered car and liked the delivery so much that im going start my project over the next couple of weeks. Im hoping to buy the agu engine for sale here. and use its std ecu and loom etc.. I was just wondering if any one could point me in the direction of a decent front mount, that fits behind my std bumber with out cutting non o.e looking holes evey where. Im on a pretty tight budget and will be doing all the work my self aidded of course by 2 of my closet friends who are pretty handy with tools. Also how hard is it to wire in the rev counter, and make the temp guage work????? The mechanical stuff isnt really bothering us, its just the wiring. cheers.
  19. i going down the tried and tested 20 v t route hopefully, in a DIY stylee :D
  20. it looks like the other half has given the nod for me to start an engine conversion, even insurisng me on her car!!! Finances pending, more power is on the cards, hopefully soon :luvlove:
  21. intresting project, like the smoothed bay idea, seen a few caddys and early golfs with that done at shows recently and i think the graft pays off, big time
  22. i particularly like you car. Especially the rear lights, they float my boat, and the exhaust. Hopefully get to see it in the flesh some time, keep up the good work!!
