colsy replied to colsy's topic in General Car Chat
Hi all, the guarantee wasn't transferable, and couldn't be arsed contacting the original owner. decided to weld it back on my self. good as new....the exhaust any way....i messed up with the ginder tho and ended up having my finger stiched. the sacrafice's we make for our corrado's!!!! Col -

Its prob bcos of the abundance of cars around these days which can finish at 100, supose ppl were turning up without helmets and couldnt run, n the organisers would have been looking cash, that extra 10 mph seperayes joe blogs evo from the club racers tuned to the hilt skylinec Col

cracking pic steve! Car looks tidy too. Tandino, its def 110 at pod now, I checked with the signing office, came in to effect late last month.
-
Cheers phil, ur rite junkie it is 110. I forgot to take my helmet, but to be honest I dint feel in any danger. Might av wantd 1 if I was in one of the top fuelers! And def if I was on one of the nitro busa's!

thanks for your compliments steve, much appriciated. id like to think i could get into the high 14's with a improved start, wont be loosing any sleep about it tho, im happy to know the cars running pretty healthy power wise.
-
I'd recomend it to anyone, price was reasonable too, £20 as many runs as you like, only had three tho, the weather was baking and I dint want to cause any damage thrashing the nuts off it all day. Great fun! Saw a mental mk2 golf derv powered doing low 13's....unreal!
-
I might do bug jam too, I reckon if I had built the revs a little before launching, I could have got those times down. I wish all road surfaces were half as good as that strip, awsome!
-
hi mic_VR yea, pretty much, mocal cooler, samcos & chip +BMC with full magnex. whats a stock VR published qtr mile?
-
cheers mate, nice of you to say so :D  :D

Hi all, just cam back from big bang down at santa pod, decided to take my VR down the strip. I was a drag strip virgin, so my starts weren't all that good, but still managed three low 15's, best being 15.3, with a terminal speed of 92mph. i was preety happy, last run was against a golf VR6,,he got off the mark better, me being a newbie and all!! but i still had him! did anyone else go down? heres a pic of me at the start: Col.
-
StormchargedVR6, car looks superb, might have to do a bit of waxing my self....(the car of course!!)off topic here but where did you get the air intakes from, the ones at the side of the fogs, they look good. Col.

Hi all, suppose it depends on the drivers too, i've been using that particullar stretch of road 5 days a week for over 5 years now, and know all the corners well, i was pushing the limit in my corrado + im running koni dampers & H&R springs (installed and set up at stealth) with toyo proxy tyres (all three components work well together), my cars producing 207 bHP. i think the 200sx is tweeked tho, He was catching up slightly in the straights. the guy lives in my villeage, will ask him about his sx when i see him. great to read Valerians comments, him having had both. cheers, Col.

The boy racer inside me raised his ugly head this afternoon when a guy in a 200 sx nissan provoked me on a desolate backroad (national limit) he got a bit of a shock when he couldnt overtake on the straights and then fell behind in the corners a bit shocked my self but never the less goes to show that a nice big torqey lump can get the up on a jap blown 2lt! I'm still a child at heart! might av to treat the old girl to a bit of something for putting up a good show! Maybe sum dodo juice!

sounds like you might have a tight setup, can you access the runners to clean/grease? sound to me like your motor is overloading & tripping out, bcos you have reached the motors thermal capacity (to hot!!), it shuts down before any damage is done, by the time you go to press the swich again its had time to cool slightly and you get another surge until it trips again....the cycle continues!!! just my 10pence worth!! best of luck! do these systems have anti-trap anyone?
-
wicked!!! bet he had a job getting an MOT on it!!!!!

HIC were the cheapest for me, by a good margin. I'm 22 also. adrian flux were the 2nd cheapest.

Hi guys, an update: had my mate (Mechanic) look at the car last night he's confident its not a bearing, virtually no play. the drive shaft's look fine & makes no noises when rotated un-loaded, infact when the car is jacked up, the noise cannot be heared, only when moving fully loaded with the cars weight?? he's going to take a look tomorow in some better light. the noise does sound quite deep i.e. heavy load if you know what i mean, its not like a clip catching and makeing a tinging noise, more like a crunch/grind. the NS front disk is slightly seized on, which makes it easy for me to say the wheel/disk isn't buckled, i.e. there are no tight spots & the disk cannot be seen wandering away/near to the pad when wheel is rotated. any thoughts??? Cheers, Col.
