its good to hear they took action. i'm currently looking into road tax, why we pay it, and what we get for our money... (absolotley no information on why we pay & how money is used on the gov website)i feel i have paid for something which i have not recieved...i.e we pay partly to have roads that are worthy of vehicles driving on them, yet here I have paid for the privleage to use a road that will inevitably end up costing me money, time & un nescecarry hassle.....what i thought i was paying road tax to avoid!!! i will keep this thread updated as to my progress...if any! and i'm going to make a point of moaning about every little defect i find on the roads i use....just to be a pain! i hate this country more and more each day. FEKING MONDAYS!!! :censored:

Cheer, I'm gunna chase this, regardless of how much it costs me to fix the car, its the principal of the issue!!! i'm totaly fed up with the roads here in yorkshire!! like my little instance will make any differance??...unlikley! people wouldn't mind paying road tax if the roads were half decent..well i wouldn't. Im ranting now!! :bad-words: :nono: :brickwall:

nice thinking!!

Just a thought, it would be an idea for someone with rolling road facilities to test a BMC (or any air filter) with a smooth intake pipe, notice that the stock flexi pipe that BMC supply is corrogated, you get high frictional pressure losses from a surface like this, and quite turbulant air flow, a smooth pipe, kinda like a samco pipe surface (....hence why samco pipes are so smooth) might see an improvement on power??? worth trying??? ideally all the piping on the air intake would be smooth, but you car't achive this if you use the OEM piece that houses the sensors upstream of the filter, i think thats coragated too??? i might be talking SH@T but theoretically what you get is air flow at slightly higher pressure??? slightly.... enought to make a differance? i dont know? Col.

Morning all, hit a sunken grate this morning, done some damage to my car...(see my thread in drivetrain...still need advice) has anyone ever gone up against the council, claiming due to damages caused by things like badly installed grates, patches of tarmac missing? Cheers, Col.

Morning all, on my way into work this morning i noticed a knocking from the front NS, sounded like the drive shaft was knocking against something as it turned, definatley a rotating part, the noise was distinctivley periodic. checked the shat, it was straight and in one piece, nothing close to be knocking into either? also when braking an odd sqeeling from the front NS brake can be heared. prior to hearing this noise, also this morning, i hit a subsided grate in the road, it went with a loud thud...really bad! our roads are appaling! i dont think its the gear box, the frequency doesent change when shifting gear whilst traveling at constant speed, could it have damaged the wheel bearing (it must be feked if thats the case, never heard a bearing sound like that!!) my friend whose a mechanic will look at it for me later, but its bothering me now, would like to price all the possible scenarios up. any advic on what i can check? Cheers, Col.

Hi Mate, I saw this on a previous thread, i was just wondering WHY??? if stealth use them in preference to standard VR plugs it must be for good reason????
-
Hi All, just been reading a thread that sugested stealth use Mk2 golf 16V plugs in VR's, is there any truth behind this? whats the advantage, has anyone had experience with this? i'm gunna be doing a service soon so was just searching for any plug preferances, my VR is slightly mod'd BMC, Motorsport development chip, samco's any opinions on what plugs might suit? Cheers, Col.

Hi Guys, Had my rado 6 days and have allready hit a hurdle....frustrated, i hope its not the begining of a very expensive relationship!! basically this mornin i noticed the car was stuck in gear when i tried to move out of reverse into first, the clutch pedal had not returned from its depressed position. had a look under the car when i got home and noticed hyd oil on the bell housing?!?! formiong a small pudle on the floor any ideas people? what are the possibilities of it being a slave cylinder failure? what are the other possibilities?, what work is involved to fix. what might i expect to pay if i decide to go to VW? Cheers, Col.
