  1. Jim, if she's going for a bubble shaped Micra, then she's gonna be very happy with it because they're the most reliable car to buy - fact! I know of 2 things that go on them - MAFs (part of the throttle body - £450+VAT from Nissan but they're easy enough to fix yourself with a soldering iron) and heater resistors (about £30) The 1.3s my choice, but the 1.0s aren't bad at all if speed's not her thing!
  2. As I used to work for Nissan I know a few things about these. The 1.0 Turbo engine is a nippy little unit, however Nissan made these for the Japanese market only so the engines were designed to last 40k. Don't panic, the engines are very strong and do last a lot longer than that. Just look out for the usual stuff. Parts wise? Well Nissan have started discontinuing parts for K10 Micras (the square cars they're based on) so parts will start to become rare soon. Most parts can be matched up to Micra parts, but when it comes to specific Figaro stuff you might find yourself in a lot of trouble. Parts can be pricey and most of the time you're looking at a month back order from Japan. Micra parts are normally held in Lutterworth, or at worst Amsterdam so it can take anything up to a week for normal parts. Another thing to note is that there isn't a lot of pattern parts out there for anything Nissan. Genuine is the only option about half the time. Other than that, they're solid little cars. Because a few celebs own them, they keep their value really well. Just look out for a well looked after low miler and you'll be fine.
  3. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... al+locking I may have some help on here, which I'll try in the morrow. Any other ideas?
  4. I've just been to my Corrado to give it the daily start and to my horror, the electric windows and central locking aren't working! The battery is fine, its a new Bosch one. I turned the car over and it started first time, everything else works fine, I restarted it and it went first time, but these two - nothing. I took the fuse out, which I believe is the 20amp accessory fuse at the top of the fusebox, and it was fine. I'm rather confused at this point! Any help would be hugely appreciated!
  5. g60greeny, its scheduled to go on at 8:30pm :) bristolbaron, thanks very much, I've updated the eBay listing to your requirements! :D Walesy, I was thinking of using the words "ultra rare" just to see if I get good money for it! :D
  6. Don't you worry, the pics are for your benefit, the ones for eBay are uploaded :) The mileage is 102949 at the minute. I need the car gone ASAP, hence the charger has stayed in its current state.
  7. Right guys I need your opinion. Below is the eBay listing for my G60, I haven't uploaded it yet. I need to work out my reserves and all that, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough guesstimate. __________________________________________________________ Due to an imminent house move, I’m selling my VW Corrado G60. The car was registered on 1/8/1991 at Lookers VW Ormesby, Cleveland under registration J360 RHN. The car now has cherished registration number C8 MSP on it, which will be included with the sale. The service history to 42k (19/3/98) is fantastic. It was serviced 12 times between registration and the previous date. After that, it got less detailed, with 2 services in the book. This doesn't mean it wasn't done though. On 7/1/06, at 102573 I had the following done: Oil & filter change Air filter change Fuel filter change Brake fluid change Coolant change Front brake discs and pads Rear brake discs, pads and wheel bearings Front wishbones and top mounts Cambelt and tensioner Fan belt PAS belt Oil sump and plug Spark plugs The car has a later spec grey 16v interior in it. It has no rips, tears or fag burns in it. The drivers side bolster foam has gone soft. The car is Tornado Red in colour. It is generally in good condition, but it has a few dents and scratches here and there. Some of the scratches may come out with a good polish. There is some lacquer peel on both rear quarter panels and there is some rust on the rear panel. The rear panel still has the factory sticker on it, so it hasn’t been in a rear end accident. The car has 15” TSW Hockenheim alloys on it, shod with Toyo Proxes T1-S, one being brand new. Inside, the car has a Pioneer CD player and uprated 6x4” Alpine speakers in the parcel shelf supports. The parcel shelf is uncut. All the electrics work, including the tilt and slide sunroof and the manual and automatic raising and lowering of the spoiler. I have no history on the supercharger. I was told it was reconditioned but I have no receipts or documents to prove this has been done. The offside front indicator is cracked. These can be picked up for around £20. Pics: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36547 Car is now back on standard suspension. Thanks!
  8. None of them. Invest in BBS.
  9. I was a 318i auto. They don't even hit 130mph! According to Sky News, the cops couldn't catch him! I read this at work and laughed my ass off. God its a slow news day!

    Nissan 300zx

A lad I used to work with has a 300ZX twin turbo. Petrol wise, it's terrible! He said he normally spends £80-100 a week on filling it up! Reliability, its been fine since I've known him. The senior Nissan tech at work has a single turbo one, but he blew the turbo and now he's doing a full engine rebuild on it.
  11. I miss my interior :( Any pics of it yet?
  12. I think the lights could suit other colours of Corrado, but I don't think they suit yours. I think all red originals would look a lot better, if the orange can be disguised as much as possible. I'm sure if you put them up for sale someone would have them :)
  13. Apologies if this has been said before, I haven't fully read the thread. Why don't CF and CCGB just associate with each other? Basically, CF can advertise the benefits of joining CCGB on the forum and CCGB and advertise the benefits of the forum in the magazine? That way only the people truly interested in doing both will do both, rather than them having to accept two amalgamated clubs. Both clubs can run the same but should see popularity rise as a result.
  14. VW keys are uber cheap. I paid £4.74+VAT for a genuine key, cut from my other key, from the local dealer in December. The part number is 357 837 219 A
  15. I tell them I work at a local dealer! Well, I used to work at the Renault dealer across the road, I'm sure noone's told them I've left! :D 10% off every time!
