  1. Has anyone added a billet gas cover to their C? I have been strongly thinking of adding one to mine. If you have pictures please post.
  2. first make sure you install the cylinder head gasket in the correct position. below i will list the numbered holes in sequence for tightening. if you have the guide bolts screw them into holes 8 and 10 for placement of the cylinder head. Place the head. fit all the cylinder bolts, removing the guide bolts in holes 8 and 10 and fitting the regular head bolts. hand tighten only. once they are all hand tightened then tighten in sequence to 40Nm(29ft lb). when that is done then tighten in sequence to 60Nm(43 ft lb). when finished tighten in sequence another 1/2 turn (180 degrees) in one movement. this all should be done with the engine cold of course. 10 4 2 6 8 7 5 1 3 9 And yes i believe there is a gasket between the throttle boady and the intake manifold. i do hope this is for a G60......if not let me know and i will look up the VR6 specs.
  3. Thats Sweet!! Nice bhp output and for a daily driver too..... again very nice and semi-unique.
  4. I don't think so............i removed my center box and no axles were moved on my car. i replaced it with a bigger straight pipe and a supersprint backbox. The sound is GREAT!
  5. Thats Nice..............what kind of wheels are those?
  6. You Guys Get All The Good Stuff..............None of That Gets Shipped To The States.
  7. Go Ahead......lets see the sexy wee beastie!!!
  8. As i was looking at the picture again i noticed that you still have the stock air box on there. i don't know if you have done any mods to it or not but that was one of the first things i did when i boought my car over 8 yrs ago. i would sugguest removing it and adding a K&N or drilling the existing box out to let it breathe more.
  9. Thats a nice engine. I am really suprised that VW didn't try and run this setup. Have you any idea of the number of horses you are running?
  10. Scott bring it with.........they are rare over here...........you just dont see them anymore. If your saving 15k why not a couple more to ship the car over. it would save you from buying a car over here. you could also look at selling it to someone over here (temporarily) and have tem sell it back to you......hehe. any way......where in the states are you looking at settling?
  11. Where in the US are you going?........i am sure there are plenty of people over here with information that can and would help you.
  12. i have a question ................. is there any advantage or disadvantage to adding another inlet to the G-Ladder instead of blocking it off?

    rotor arm

pull it......you can use a screwdriver and gently get leverage to lift it.........it should come right off after a little pressure. just be careful of what you pry against.
  14. I ordered a lifter from VolsBits in Birmingham. They said the Corrado only needed one? is this true or did they shaft me? i am sure as strong as the strut is i wont have any trouble but i just wanted to be sure. thanks. mike
  15. I am 32 years old. I have owned 3 VW's. I owned a 1989 Jetta GLI in Blue. I Have owned 2 1990 G60 Corrados. One of which i still own. Sold the black one and still have the yellow one. Thinking of getting another one....hehehe
  16. I just added a Supersprint Exhaust a few weeks back. Its low noise and sounds really good. I am running a straight pipe out from the Cat into the backbox (muffler) itself. I removed the suitcase or turtle muffler and and am happy all the way around. If you havent opened up the air box yet, by all means do that too when you do the exhaust you will not only see some performance gains but it will sound just a little "meaner" than it did prior.
  17. I would like to upgrade my wiring loom. Is there anywhere in the States thats has them that you know of? if not how much would it cost to get one shipped over from the UK? any help would be appreciated. thanks mike
  18. Corozin, contact Jacob G60........its a dutch based site he can fix it. many of us had the same problem he can fix it on his end.
  19. well if its to the right of the supercharger then its the silencer box. this is a two piece black box with a pipe coming out of it leading to the intercooler. if it is leaking then it is most likely leaking air. there will be some oil in there as well and there may be some of that coming out of the bottom. leaking air will only reduce the boost from the supercharger and you may suffer some performance. there are people like Darrin (8vg60) around that are offering an upgraded kit to replace the silencer box. this is a good relatively inexpensive upgrade. you might want to contact them and check prices. i have replaced my silencer box btw. personally i think it helps with throttle response and creates a nice deep throaty tone.
  20. is the charge cooler used in conjunction with the intercooler or do you remove the oem intercooler?
  21. Has anyone seen this before and are any of you running this? i saw this on a car listed on ebay of all places and just found it odd. i have never seen watercooled intercooler pipes.
  22. cant wait to hear the stories when you get it back. i am happy for you M8

  24. The early models have orange turn signals that were sunken into the bumper. The newer models have clear turn signals that were more flush with the bumper than the older models. Unfortualtely for all C's turn signals and fog lights are victim to being hit by stones or small debris off the road, especially if your car is lowered. It is one of the most common problems with C's, but one that for the most part is out of your control. As these cars get older you will find less and less parts for them, unless you go to the Stealer for factory new ones or go the aftermarket route.
  25. Majik i feel your pain man. i have had the feeling of being violated. had my C in a parking lot once after playing a soccer match. went into the local pub with my teamates and someone violated my car. they, unlike your attacker didnt try to steal anything, just beat my car. guess they didnt like me or the color yellow. they kicked my door and various other things. major pain the the A*#@. My brother had his C broken into and they stole the radio and many of his cds that we under the dash in a closed box. unfortuatly Corrados dont ever head the list of car break-ins, but theives certainly like them.......alarm or not. hope you can get it repaired as cheap and as quickly as possible.
