I've checked all the pipes when the cars at temp and they are all hot, with the cap on the pipes are rock solid. I've checked with vw and they stopped doing the valve 5yrs ago which is helpful and second hand they are £40 plus postage. It's better for me to get a mk3 matrix and get rid of the valve. I do have a blue cap so will change that over today

There is no air lock I've tried that. I've ran the car for A couple of months now aswell since I last had a coolent pipe off

Had a problem with the corrado and I havnt got a clue what is causing it. Basically I drove about a kilometre down the road and the water temp was rising above 90 and oil rising aswell. The coolent level is fine as I checked this a few days back, the pipes to the rad and matrix were all hot too. The expansion tank was cold though and I was getting no heating in the car. No leaking pipes or matrix either. When I loosened the cap on the tank I had heating so thought great I'll visit my mum and have a cup of tea (thinking I had an air lock) when driving the 20miles home I had exactly the same problem, water sat just over 110 and oil at 110. Rad fan working fine aswell. Any idea what could be the cause? From reading around I think it could be a pressure valve but don't know where this is or what it looks like. Any help would be much appreciated Car is a 1991 1.8 16v Thanks Chris

Hey guys. Im about to start rebuilding an ABF engine, never done anything like this before. I only have a halfords tool kit with ratchets, allen keys, spanners, socket bits. A few screw drivers and molegrips. Only thing i can think of that i will need is a torque wrench but is there anything else that i could be missing?? Thanks

Was in a mk2 and followed a j reg corrado down the a1 and onto the a47 in Peterborough. Not seen it around before, looked sweet and was popping flames :-)

Mine is early but I've got a late bonnet on it. Would I still be able to run the 50mm inlet manifold or would I need to use a 42mm??
-
Ive done a search and cant seem to find any thread about an ABF conversion. Got a few questions...I have heard about problems with clearing the bonnet yet ive seen some corrados which seem to have no problems? Could someone clear this up?? Also in regards to exhaust manifolds, does the standard one still fit? Any other problems im likely to encounter? Thanks

Just thought id update as ive fixed the problem. There is a fuse which is hidden on top of the fuse box. I havnt seen this mentioned anywhere and didnt even know it existed until i had the dash out to chase wires around. Replaced the 10amp fuse and the heaters all work as they should :)

Sorry should have mentioned. Mines a 1.8 16v and i had a new clutch fitted not so long ago. easypops it was at one point stopping half way and i was having to pull it back up with my foot but its beyond that point now. It started off as the same thing Grim1, i was having to get my foot behind the pedal now and then but then one day it just wouldnt go into any gear (in rush hour traffic the other side of the city of all times and places) now the clutch just falls at the slightest of touch.
-
Ive had a search through here for the past few days but still cant find the answer. I wil try explain the best i can... The clutch pedal just falls to the floor at the slightest touch and i have to pull it back up with my hand. Ive tried bleeding it from the slave cylinder which hasnt made a difference. Today i replaced the slave cylinder and found the rubber on the old was was broken. Again i returned to bleeding it and it still hasnt made any difference. I have kept an eye on the fluid level and never let it drop too low. What else can it be??
-
Still got the slave clyinder??

Few bits there of interest to me Sam ;)

I've had a read through the thread about the heating working on setting 4 only but my problems different. Ever since replacing the heater matrix my heating has only ever worked on off, and it's a pretty slow speed. Setting 1,2,3 and 4 are all of. Any ideas as to what this may be? I've got an early corrado by the way
