And some measuring blocks.

You wont be able to do basic settings on the shareware version

I think they`ve had that up for ages. They also had a beige gear surround and gaiter up for a rediculous sum.
-
Ditto for the above. On my second now after the first failed for no reason. Still at £8 a pop it still pays for itself by pointing in the right directions to solve issues
-
Have you tried any of the brokers? Adrian Flux/Chris Knott and the likes?

7 year old thread revival, love it

Yeah, I`m surrey road. Would be great if you dont mind dropping it off on your way to tidy
-
Cant do Tidy this month. Got a load of furniture being delivered this weekend. And havent got round to fitting the handles yet. Can I pop round sunday afternoon?

Think i had some door handles off you before. £10?

It is sad that our cars appear to be worth more in parts than as a usuable machine. If you can hang on to sell the car then it should sell eventually, its seems very fairly priced, its just a question of finding the right buyer. But if you have the time/facilities and inclination to break it then you should see roughly the same money in your pocket but for a shed load of effort and inconvenience. It depends how desperate you are to get shot of it. I`m trying to sell mine at the moment to but as i have another car to jump straight in when it does go I`m in no real rush which does mean that i`m not thinking about breaking it,

Hey Quasirob, did this sort out your issue? It's nice to get the results of queries added to threads for anyone else searching the same issue

You should be ok with just taking off the plastic cover on the thermostat housing
-
+1 for VAG cars genereally having a low bite point. If the pedal is coming all the way up i wouldnt worry about it
-
You`ll be fine with it not plugged in aslong as your cooling is in good order and seeing as its winter (it kicks in at 120c!) Dead simple to change, pull off the plastic cover, there`ll be a small metal clip holding access from on top, pull that up and out of the housing. Then pull out the old sender and quickly plug the new one in, hopefully you wont lose too much coolant but top up anyway. Dont go to gsf, I`ve had a couple of dodgy senders from there, it`ll cost more but the vag ones are better. The sender in the middle provides the ECU with the coolant temp. If this is dodgy it will result in very poor engine running/fuelling
-
Yellow temp sender on the thermostat housing and the fan control module would be my next port of call. Do you know what speed they are running on? 1,2 (3) if you have it. 3 will sound like the world is about to end
-
If you replace the sender go genuine VAG. I tried an ECP one in mine and it made the guage read 120c all the time

Good Salesman & Good Buyer Thread

To be honest most of the time i drive like a granny anyway but in the VR it seems to make little difference to mpg. Trouble with the lpg route is the return on investment would probably be around 2 years for the mileage I do and I wouldnt have a clue where to begin with a tdi conversion and without wanting to offend a diesel corrado is just plain wrong
-
Those kind of mpg figures (and power) make the 1.8t very appealing. Sure I cant tempt you to sell? Did you do the conversion yourself? What gearbox are you running?
-
With the escalating price of fuel it is getting more and more tempting to sell on the VR6 for something a bit more economical. The trouble is that like all of us I love my raddo and being without it/one is a sad thought. My current thoughts are to sell on my Vr now and look for a different corrado which has been converted to a 1.8t as I understand that the power can be the same, engine dependant, and also the engine itself is slightly lighter. My questions are, are there that many 1.8t corrados around? Would picking one up be highly unlikely? Or is it worth picking up a 1.8t engine and a corrado with a knackered block and do the conversion myself? What kinda of mpg do the 1.8t's give, urban and motorway?
