Yeah those ebay ones do give a terrible ride quality. you`ll get a lot of recomendations on KW1 (2/3) on here but the do come at quite a hefty price. On a 1st hand note I have Weitec's on my mk3 golf (same suspension) and they ride beautifully despite being fairly low, plus they are probably around 6 years old now and still going fine. Think they`ll set you back between £400-£600 depending on what level of adjustability you want

i dont think inflation comes into it. Its down to price elasticity of demand. Low demand means price goes up. Its a vicous circle with car parts because as the price goes up demand goes down as people source 2nd hand parts instead of new, which pushes the price up further, again reducing demand. Its a cycle unlikely to be broken as ever more corrado's are scrapped Vw arent going to make a massive batch of seals to make the unit price low when they know the demand isnt there to sell them on
