6.5L is crazy for a car made in 1965! It's weird pretty much all the cars over there have at least a V6. We had a Dodge people carrier and it had a V6 3.2L that did 17mpg average! Although petrol prices over there are super cheap, so it was probably the equivalent of running a 35mpg car over here. I thought it was funny because I saw a massive billboard advertising the new ford fiesta and it's main selling point on the ad was the 40 miles to the gallon that it did, as if no car over there does that haha!

I'm looking for a Car for under £600 that is cheap to run. Best I can come up with that is decent is probably a Mk3 Golf Diesel, one of my mates has one and he says its reliable, isn't rusting fast and is cheap on fuel. Looking to maybe sell the VR to save a bit of money at the moment possibly. Any ideas? Thanks!

Wow, thats really interesting, considering hamster on Top Gear said the rear wheels were held together by a big girder! They must be getting better at handling. I suppose its all fit for purpose, over here we have mostly windy roads so good cornering is essential (well maybe), but in America its all straight so no need. Yeah the mustangs look awesome too! Only saw like 2 Golfs over there, no Corrado's :(

Just wondering what people thought of them? I have just come back from Florida and I can say that I haven't had a good opinion on these cars, but this is mainly due to watching top gear and hearing them getting slagged off constantly! But I saw a load of Mustang's and Camaro's and id have to say I think (especially the Camaro) they look like really good cars. I mean take the Camaro, it's got a 6.2L V8 and it costs under $30000! Granted its only 400hp but still thats really good price! Standing next to these cars they are massive and just looked like no other car id seen before. Coming back over here all the cars look really small, maybe its just my taste but I quite like the big car with big engine! Your probably going to say handling is shit though because of the grid system in america but to be honest I get the most thrills out of my rado going in a straight line anyway lol! bob.jpg[/attachment:2nwdh820]

Just graduated with Applied Computing degree, currently working as bar staff :( while I save for a masters in Networking and Internet Systems at Lancaster Uni. -
The Road 6/10 Apocalyptic drama, represents what it would be like if the world did end, but just so damn depressing from beginning to end! Maybe should have scored it higher because that is what it set out to achieve, but never been so depressed after a film!

yea 92 vr6. Thanks for the quick replies. Love this forum! Oh one question, if you unplugged it from a working VR6 and let the engine run, what is likely to happen? would it affect performance? got a major problem where car seems to be really stuttery and looses power after 3500rpm (feels like its hitting the limiter or fuel isnt getting in...). We have tried changing spark plugs, leads, fuel filter. Nothing seems to be working, we unplugged this and it seems the same but surely it shouldnt be? :brickwall:
-
EXACT same thing happening to mine at the moment, fine up till 3000rpm then feels like its hit the limiter and no power. We are going to get a new lambda sensor because we pulled it out and it made no difference to engine running and surely it should?! if it works ill let you know, should be done by the end of the week.

Any idea where I could get one of these for the cheapest price? Cheers, Dan

Just the hand break, going to take the callipers off tomorrow and have a look at it, think its the same as my old mk2 golf gti and it was a pain for crap hand break!
-
At least my emissions passed!: CO % - max = 0.200 car = 0.100 HC ppm - max = 200 car = 11 idle CO % - max =0.300 car = 0.290
-
Sadly a fail :( , on the hand break! apparently not good enough so not the worst thing I suppose. Its got a bad misfire felt like it was really strugling so got to sort that also. Well done on the pass!

Hi, Not sure if anyone can help but driving the corrado today and it was extremely stuttery and jumpy and when I put my foot down it feels as though there is no power and its really struggling. Changed the spark plugs, brand new plugs but leads were not new so could it be this? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Dan

Jesus £2500! someone reversed into me and did in the front wing and door, it cost only £700 overall to get new replacement wing and repair the door n paint. U been to body shops to ask for quotes then? Try n get low quotes so they can't write it off. Just keep on at them cos when I did mine the woman didn't want to know at the insurance company but I wudnt leave them alone lol. If u get a quote less than value they would pay to repair. Is it still undecided who's fault it is with them or has the lad accepted now? -
Mine is in for MOT tomorrow also, same feelings here, I'm dreading it!

Depends what you want 8v,16v,g60,vr6? Average seems to be around 2000. I got mine for 1800 and thats a vr6. So probably be valvers for 1000 ish good quality. -
Yeh actually I was kinda wondering how much difference can there possibly be? Maybe if ur a rally driver or use the car to drive constantly where u would want really comfortable ride maybe.
-
Ha that's weird, I guess most of time its hard to notice, lucky I never tipped over while driving or something! Thanks mate, but after talking to my step dad I think im just going to get brand new standard springs for the front and save up for coilovers eventually like you. Sorry if ive messed about. Thanks for the help though and good luck with your exams!
