What you want is a nice R32 coverted 8v I reckon! Anyway, do early and models all have the same columns?
-
Genuine matrix £127 on enquiring today, a little steep if I'm honest!! Anyone got any reviews of the cheaper ones? Euro car parts one is exactly £100 cheaper...
-
Well the column tube and both cowls are no longer available as I tried to order the lot today but left it as without these as I don't think I can do it without can I?? Also they didn't recognise the contact ring part number :cuckoo:
-
Cool thanks, I've bitten the bullet and gone genuine with everything else so may aswell...This car can never be sold its had far too much time and money already!
-
How much are they from VW and GSF out of interest? I have a nice long parts list to sort out my wobbly column so this will get done too if the dash comes out...
-
Gents this is next on my list to do while I do the matrix, out of interest where are you based...You may have another one for the party if I tackle the matrix first mind  Gong to get this lot ordered tomorrow, were all those parts on Jims list 100% needed? *Edit* Whats the part number for the Polo/Corrado shared column so I can check my VW breakers too please? :)

Vince, would this be the same on a vr6? Had steam/smoke come through the vents last night and had a search on here and found this thread. It stopped coming through but stunk of burning when I pulled over so have just left all vents off since. Sorry to hijack the original thread! yes, steam through the vents still means heater matrix on VR6 - it shouldnt smell of burning though and just turning off the vents is hardly solving a problem is it? has your car been using water? have you topped it up if so? ignoring something till it does you or something else damage is not normally a good plan. Well that told me didn't it... it only happened last night and I had to keep driving it home (half a mile or so) and it hasn't left the drive since that is why I posted and did a search on here in the first place! I did notice it was a little low on coolant last week after it was serviced but assumed the garage left it low and just topped it up. The burning smell stopped as soon as I switched it all off and then it just smelt of antifreeze. If thats what it is I will get myself one ordered and give it a crack over the weekend though, is there a recommended part to use for the VR? Cheers

Thanks, have sent him a message to see what I need! Hoping its not a mission like the Polo one looks

So my C has the worst play in the steering column that Stealth have seen, its worse than my old valver and its time to get it sorted me thinks! Seen the below fixed unit on ebay, is this a straight swap or am I going to have to buy a load of other items. I know there is a long long thread on fitting a Polo column but theres not much on fitting an original fixed Corrado one. Advice please :D http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

I have standard Recaros in my VR and the inside lower bolster actually fowls the centre console too when my GF drives it with the seat forward.
-
That's my neck of the woods, which car park was it I will bear that in mind! Good luck getting it sorted mate
-
Thats because you drive that nice reliable green Honda in your sig
-
You've convinced me, I knew it was the right thing to do :D Lets hope its not too hot as leather does get a bit sticky with no AC in a drak blue C
-
Convincing lot you are! Not actually going down for the event it is coincidence we booked that weekend in a B&B for some surfing without thinking! Will try and get down to the show and shine event though, as were there :) So the C will actually be parked outside (or as near as I can get it) to our B&B which is most peoples drunked walk route home from town
-
It is a 328.5 mile trip each way from me which could be a great drive in the freshly bushed VR, thing is it is now sitting quite low on KW's and I wonder whether it would be more sensible to take the GF's 56 plate 1.2 Corsa with AC and use half the petrol, not worry about breaking down etc. Plus whichever car we take is probably going to be parked up in the street on RTTS weekend with p1ssed up people walking past it day and night! Car has not been serviced for 9 months or had chains or anything done though its been in to Stealth and had some oil leaks fixed, new fuel pump etc and is on 116,000 miles... Shall I take it, shall I not....Hmmmmmm
-
Its a squeeze but do-able. Got both mine and the GF's moutain bikes in with a dust sheet in the middle and all wheels removed. Just takes a bit of care and patience getting them in and out

Crazydave is worth a shout for these, he was doing them at a very reasonable price compared to everywhere else.
-
Swiftkid that looks nice! My area has some bad speedbumps and rubbish roads mind... I would like mine that low up front and up slightly at the back, makes a hell of a difference to the asthetics of the C though - can't wait for them tog o on :D How do you get on with that sump? have any trouble on steep drives etc?
-
I think I will ask Vince to do it and do a geo check after replacing all the bushes etc, should feel like a new car but just want to know how low I can go sensibly.
-
Want these set up to handle and loose the mahooosive arch gap but do not want to lose sump! Car is on standard Speedlines would like set up with slight nose down stance which probably will not be sump friendly... ANy ideal drops front and back, with pics if possible... Thanks as always :D

Picking this thread back up as I want these this payday, they have probably shot up now due to end of sales and new vat but its the only month I'll be able to do it! GWerks will get a call Thursday as will a few other places.... I want Innox ones too. Will try some ebay sellers as well for best prices. Has anyone ordered a set recently?
