Right, Im ordering today just bottom bearing and ignition switch required as I have an early Corrado complete fixed column? Can I just ask what are these Irwins you speak of? Just a pair of molegrips?? Ta
-
My fixed column also arrived today, with old steering wheel still attached! Some late spec stalks with it even though its apparently from an early valver... Need to go to VW and get the rest of the bits, what do Ii need exactly with a complete Corrado fixed column? I have probably asked something similar to this somewhere in the past so apologies if so. Also was there a spare cowling going still :) *Edit* Just seen the post from me asking similar a few pages back. Could someone please confirm the part numbers of what I need though?
-
Not had too much feedback from any of the suppliers mentioned so think I am going to order these from the States; http://www.aptuning.com/index.php?page= ... &Itemid=14 Cheap as chips!
-
Damn I missed out again! I would 100% have one off of you if you can get any more. Many thanks
-
Oh well, I'd rather drive round with it missing until I find a breaker than have sloppy steering. Did anyone manage to fit the early ones?
-
Excellent I will get it bought then! Anyone had any further luck with cowlings as my local TPS said they were obsolete years ago? If Ross can get anymore I will gladly buy it off him :)
-
Back to this again! I found an early 16v non adjustable steering column for sale, will this fit my VR6? Obviously I know I still need the cowling but for now would it work as mine has so much play its silly.
-
May give you a shout for those if that seems the best option. I've emailed Graham to ask whether they have developed anything. Cheers :-)
-
Looks good, though I'd need them in and out in a day so not really an option! Will email and see whether he has any VR6 cams in stock and whether I can send mine in after fitting.

Right, Apologies for completely hijacking this thread but I have whittles it down to the following within my price range (some new, some used and some from the US) Just don't know what is the better one to go for, I don't want to have to redline it for results I would like a bit of scream when needed but also for some more lower down grunt. Choices are now out of: SP263's Autotech 262's Dougherty 268's Cat cams 263/4's Kent cams 264's Please help!
-
Also speaking to Fourseasons across the pond who can do me Autotech 262's for around the same price delivered. I just don't know what to go for but need to sort it quick as the cars going in for chains and clutch and want it done at the same time!
-
Interesting, I would have thought as they are the same profile they would be the same! So the kents are slightly milder as they have more overlap?
-
Also looking at this as you can pick them up for not a lot, missed out on some SP263's and these are the next alternative without spending money importing them. In real terms what does that graph mean? Sorry for being a thicko..

I must have been a little delirious at the end of my night shift... Do think they are a bargain even at £4-5k but the Corrado is a much rarer sight and insured on a classic policy etc etc I am going to stick some cams in it and get the chains done and get it mapped. I know where I am with it and it owes me nothing... Maybe I'll get the GF in an old M3 and insure myself on it :D
-
Keep thinking even though I've ploughed a lot of money in to the Corrado that one of these is just better from the off. pre 95 3.0 one is about 280bp RWD A/C And though e36's are kinda chavvy they are a ridiculous bargain, I now actually prefer the saloon m3 too which can be had in 3.0 guise for £3k... Has anyone else made this jump, I know a few of you have had your BMW moments! Had an e30 325i cab and an e34 525i 24v ... both I loved but the Corrado is that bit more special, will I regret it? Hmm :D
-
And if Supercharged doesn't need them, count me in! :D Still need to find most of the other Corrado specific bits yet as TPS Essex don't do them...
-
Mine ran up ok too though now just stinks of antifreeze burning where it soaked everything. Nothing else went wrong other than some grazed knuckles. Should I have put a fuse in behind the headlight switch then? Glad you got it sorted too.
-
Had some further smoke through after turning the toasties on this morning, am hoping it is just burning any remaining antifreeze from the internals of the heater box as it stinks of antifreeze and the new matrix isn't leaking.. Pumped it to 4 and opened the windows and it was ok but un nerving nonetheless! How long till it stops as I don't want the thing apart to clean it all out. Wiped the insides where it leaked through with kitchen roll and it was pretty clean when it went back together :cuckoo:
-
It ran up good and got nice and hot with no leaks, funny enough the one I removed was a VAG one that looked mint too but had leaked from the top join where the plastic joins the metal. Maybe the ECP was a better bet afterall as the old one can't have been the original! I had the whole dash out for it took the whole day Sunday and ended up leaving all the interior out to clean so still on the push bike anyway :?
-
Sorry, always forget that! 1994 VR6. Will give that a go, thanks mate.
-
Fitted the ECP one yesterday though am yet to test it in the car as I am going to VAX the carpets and treat all the leather while its out too. Needless to say, I have significantly less skin on my hands and arms today :) Glad I did it myself though.
-
Shorted this out removing the dash to do the matrix yesterday, heard a pop and saw the clock displays had gone too. Anyone please tell me which fuse or relay I have stupidly hit? :cuckoo:
-
I don't really want to have ridiculous stretch nor do I want butchered arches....BUT the wheels are flippin tasty as sin! Arch rolling etc is going to require paintwork am I right?
-
For those not on e38 here is are the details copied and pasted, however the pics are worth a peek if you can get on it :) Info as below: 3pc Gotti 16x8 et17 fully polished (recent refurb) pcd 120 With 16mm thick SOLID STEEL adpaters (5x100) So final offset with adapters is ET1. 195-40-16 falken tyres One tyre is getting low on tread. Will get pic's up soon as Don't see 16" gotti's come up very often so pricing is difficult. Lets say £1200ono thats roughly what they cost me.
-
Just found the rims I want at the only time I've been able to afford them, so I just wondered who is good at working out what fits what with ETs etc as I don't have a clue. Below is a link on e38 to the wheels themselves. Any help appreciated. Nobody buy them please :D http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... pic=309258
