  1. I had a go with an early scooby at a set of lights on a dual carrageway I admit I had a bit of a rolling start we were neck and neck until we reached 80 then I eased off as we were in a 40 area and thought it wasnt worth the points. I was happy with that and patted the old girls steering wheel in appreciation/approval.

Anyway come on you VRT owners what do you consider as fair game to race? Which cars out there do you love to humiliate? How do you compare with M3s and M5s performance wise? Its nice knowing that you are out there up holding the honour of the Corrado it will make drivers of cars mentioned above think twice about taking us on.

  2. Read the whole thread and its simply amazing how much thought and effort as gone into your car. I think the only common part that our cars share now is the rear anti roll bar  Just a quick question though - with your skills and knowledge why did you use the Corrado as a starting base? When you could have chose any car really.

  3. Update. Still running in the engine and completed 500 miles now since the clutch was fitted. All clutch judder as ceased now so I recon it must of been contaminated with oil/grease. Result.

  4. Could be loss of compression in one or more cylinders. I had similar experiance as you have described. It would be happy all day pootling about at 30mph in 5th however when it came to hard acceleration I had "linear" progression without the usual take off at 4000 revs. In my case no 3 and 6 cylinders were low.

  5. Red VR6 with what looked like a black front grill, on speedies spotted yesterday turning into Sandiway garage, crossroads of A49 and A556, near Northwich, at 17 50. Looked like a possible female driver but I was just too far away. I slowed down to try and get a better view. I was in the works shed mobile so didn't let on.

  6. Drooling all over your car again. It looks stunning and must be an inspiration to others. Generally I dont like silver cars its too common a colour these days. But your car suites it so well when silver wasn't the "in" colour. I go weak at the knees everytime I see it.

Forum chatting is all well and good but you can't beat meeting a load of people in person, especially when you need to ask for help from someone.

I hope you continue meeting other members in the real world ote]

Your are totaly correct Judith and I hope to meet with other owners in the future. I must admit that I was very nervous beforehand however Mark was fantastic and made me feel right at home.

  8. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Mark on Thursday evening. We had a nice chat regarging Corrados and he took me out for a spin in his 4mo. A really nice example and he had the thing twitching, turning into a round a bout :norty: He drove my C and he was impressed with it. A top guy and I hope he brings up his VR whilst he is still working up this end of the country. I've never had the chance to speak face to face with a fellow owner and I enjoyed the experiance.

    Cheers Alan

  9. Had a couple of chufties in the last week. Went to the garage to pick the VR up (its only been in for 1 month) and the mechanic said he's had all the "VAG heads" sniffing round it giving lots of nice comments. The other was from a 10 year old lad while I was washing my car said to his mates "Thats a nice car mate" I thought you got class. :D
