There seems to been too much conflicting info on the net about this. If I'm not mistaken u need to contact VW with your VIN or gearbox code to get accurate gearbox info, which I've yet to do. btw can they just do a straight swap for 1st and 2nd? I've thought about just changing my final drive ratio on my G60 1CBA08071, may be less risky and cheaper I'm hoping. GL m8y

right i got teh rado bentley manual a while back but i need another manual preferebly with pictures ;] maybe.. Volkswagen Golf and Jetta Mk 2 Petrol or VW Golf GTI Performance Manual by Tim Stiles do these cover the golf g60? Recomendations? Advise? I have no training but I got the time and resources to do it myself. Probably a stupid idea but I think the feeling will be awesome when the rado is back on the road. update ok so the cars done over 800 miles, coolant level aint budged. Car hadnt been holding boost in proper tho. Fixed boost leak to an extent (cheers olly) yesterday evening. Test drove, nice to have some performance back, turning lots of heads again :] didnt drive it that hard mind. Took it out for a 2nd run a bit later. 10 mile run thought it felt LUMPY in low rev range. Under hood this morning .... Engine idling, plumes of OIL VAPOUR from crank case breather. Small puddle after a min idle. Lost about 400ml oil in 20miles!!! Anyone got 2p? :D Compression Test :- Cyl PSI 1. 130 2. 60 3. 145 4. 150 Somethings gone again :mad:

Phil, which noise do u mean? I removed to top cambelt cover. On closer inspection there are tiny metal filings in this area. VW changed belt 2 years ago, but they didnt bother with tensioner? Had recent head work aswell. When it goes in for service in next few weeks we will be investigating further, mech was keen on a sound coming from nears cambelt area tho. edit found that the bolt which holds the rear drive belt cover is missing and that the cover is touching the drive belt. I'll get that sorted c if it helps.

True... quiet worring the joiner who dissapeared recently could be trapped in my car. I'm also concerned about the tambourine man (5,9 sec...) tbh!

Dinkus, I've got a small drip on garage floor after car has been standing. I'm told it's ok to not fix it right away tho, but things will get worse eg oil on clutch. Give us time to save for gearbox, clutch and flywheel job I suppose!
