The carbon Cup wing mirrors on the Jeroen Dik's corrado
scottgroovez replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I enquired about the Stroeve mirrors a while back. Apparantly the company that makes them have gone bust and weren't available at the time. -
There was some debate on ClubGTI a few years back about how the Rallye that Volks-Speed built could retain the original plate. People were saying that in effect it was a "ringer". I did some research on the DVLA site and it stated that it could retain the registration if the shell was brand new ie unregistered (which this was as it was bought from VW Racing). What's the reason the plate from car that was used for the shell cannot be used?

I have a few times. They used to not charge VAT which may have changed, but quick and efficient. Very good

According to the Bentley the PG is a non-interference, but I have heard of people bending valves which suggests otherwise.

Ian Birch uses Blueflame exhausts on his cars. I'd say that's a pretty high recommendation.

A fiend used to have a Fiat Uno Turbo which he ragged so hard the turbo impellor blade sheared off and was spat out the exhaust. It was so hot it was actually glowing

Was Air-Con available in the UK for the G60's? My G60 Golf had factory fitted air-con and a lot of US G60 Corrados have it.

That style of dancing is just like David "Dave Elsewhere" Bernal -
Does it burn oil at all? I've had this recently and it was a dodgy valve stem oil seal.

Excellent job, with the future plans as well it's on its way to becoming one of the best Corrado's on the planet.

£120? WOW. You can get VW Racing cables cheaper than that!

Cheers for your helpful replies ;) Tis a lovely colour

They also came in Schwarz black, Pearl grey or Aubergine only, had chromolux rear screen and rear quater glass, BBS RM's, few other bits. I guess you know they were Golfs too...

Can anyone tell what colour this Corrado is?

Yes, the head has been skimmed. Tis white smoke and it happens at any time, even a hot day. I'll top it up and keep an eye on the level. Cheers for all your quick and helpful replies :) Scott

There is water on the end of the tailpipes, but I thought that was coolant. Yeah, it goes away once it's warmed up. I'm gonna top the coolant and see if it drops again.
-
Recently when I start up my Golf G60, I'm getting a bit of white smoke from the exhaust which I'm guessing is steam as the coolant level has dropped a little. I've recently replaced the head, so obviously a new genuine head gasket was fitted. How else would coolant get into the cylinders? Or could it be something else? Cheers Scott

Red Corrado with 17's and some kind of body kit, waiting at the roundabout in Stoke Mandeville opposite the Toyota Dealership.

A friend of mine once used Shell Race fuel in his 8v Golf, he reckoned it did 85MPH in Second :cuckoo: before blowing the head gasket  :(
