People who like to think their cars are great but aren't.

More to the point, who was driving the vr6 that let a rover overtake you?   -
Keep seeing a white rado on my way home from work about 4.30 - 5ish, normally between Langley Mill and Eastwood in Derbyshire, looks like a 16v? Anyone?

I think the main problem with wheeler dealers is that every car they fix up comes out of ed's workshop looking stunning but they never go into full details when selling like mot/tax/service history etc, they fix up a few cosmetics and make the cars look good but i'm sure a lot of them aren't the show condition winners they make them out to be. I remember watching the episode where they did the lotus esprit, they replaced the interior and cam belt but when they test drove it at the end it was chucking out loads of blue smoke! Obviously they didn't have time to fix that bit!

Bright red example heading south on the m1 jct27 this morning at half 10.

Did a 400 mile round trip to Brighton and back this weekend just gone and saw only 1 rado :( It was a black left hooker with foreign number plates, driver looked a bit puzzled as i pulled along side and waved coming up the m1.

Green vr6 spotted in Derby last night (friday 5th) parked up by natwest bank.

Very 80's retro! You just need a cuddly garfield in the rear window and some of those plastic fingers on the bootlid so it looks like someone is trapped in there! Oh and some de-static strips hanging under the rear bumper! God the 80's were good!

Leonard's Corrado VR6 - 515bhp 5.9L's twin scroll turbo ;)

Hey buddy. Well your car is certainly coming on a bit now! 8) Anymore plans for the near future? Defo up for a meet sometime, how about Carsington resevoir or something? Plenty of plans for mine but they all seem to be distant dreams! Front wheel bearings need replacing now and it is definately going to need some paint in the next year, front end is heavily stone chipped and lacquer peel in several places! But it is my 200 mile a week daily driver so i can't be too fussy! Yeah i recon a meet and convoy drive round carsington direction would work, pick a good pub to end in! Perhaps easter time? Ian -

Car looks stunning matt! Gives me something to aspire to with mine! We must try and organise a derby meet sometime once the weather improves??? Ian -
I'm paying just over £400 a year, 25 years old with 6 years no claims protected. Car is kept on the drive but i do have a town centre postcode which pushes the price up i think. Thats with adrian flux, think i got a discount for being a club member.

Brilliant thread, i always get the piss taken out of me at work for driving an "old bangor" out of the 40+ cars in my works carpark there's only mine and a mk1 mr2 that stand out from the crowd, everything else is your 2-5 year old boring bland euro boxes. Think the worst comment i ever had came off a friend of the family "oh it has a spoiler that goes up like on my chrysler crossfire" there really is no hope for some people!

Keep it! I saw it parked up a couple of weeks ago on Rolls-Royce 'D' site car park - looked pretty tidy to me! I moved into my first house with the girlfriend last Jan, at the time i did worry about the cost of living and running a vr6! Secured a new job at the end of summer which pays an extra few quid which helps a lot! But then my engine had major major problems and set me back best part of 2K! I'm now in a position where i have to keep the car for many years to get my money's worth back out of it. I suggest keep it for now and only spend money fixing the essentials but be prepared to sell if you find living costs mounting up!

Glad to hear its still going strong, i've got some good memories of that car!

Haha, brilliant! Don't think we ever met in person, seem to remember being on holiday with the girlfriend when you came to buy it and leaving my dad to show you round. I do remember you saying you were buying it for the mrs. How is it running? Hope its been a good car for you and you've enjoyed owning it? Couple of upto date photos would be good? Ian

Search for the last 3 letters of the reg number on here and it comes up in the "corrado spotting" thread.

What was the outcome with this? Did the garage ever admit to forgeting to put oil in it?

2 spots, 1 spotted in Derby tuesday 8th about 6ish filling up at the murco petrol station on the corner on mansfield/stores road, dark blue maybe black. And another spotted last friday 4th again in Derby at the bottom of raynesway, reg number ended in KVV i think, had a roof rack on! Ian

Maybe it was a really small, young looking old man! Maybe so, it was dark

Pulled up outside my local off-license on way home this evening to get a few beers and there was a young lad looked 16-17 years old hanging around outside, thought he was going to ask me to buy some fags for him but instead he said "how much you pay for that?" to which i replied "enough!" he then said "thats a vr6 yeah? thats a fatt motor! Don't see many of them around anymore, really like them, well quick!" I was shocked by his knowledge! Thankfully the car hadn't been nicked when i came out of the shop but i did give him the full vr soundtrack as i booted it off down the street.

J*** UOL red G60 seen in Derby this morning, you were turning into Rolls-Royce LDC. Ian

Mine is my only car and i do 40+ miles a day going to and from work, i pass "jay16valve" every morning and we always exchange a flash of lights and thumbs up! As for how many are left, just lately they seem to be breeding in Derby/Nottingham area, i know of 3 that work at Rolls-Royce Derby alone! I recon there must be easily 20-25 around this neck of the woods. Ian
