aposegil.. I've had a very bad experince with Dta base maps for throttle bodies.. and as i said it ran like sh*te.. Ive seen maps for High lift cams on a 2lt 16v but not a standard 2lt 16v... engines a individual but whats the point in having a base map if it doenst work?? why tell a lie .. why not just say unless your cars runningthis spec .. it ist going to run propperly.. not a dig mate just personal experince.. Andy...
-
Tryed it on my Mk1.. and its onlya base map .. and it run's like poo.. your'll need to take your car for a rolling road tune straight away.. and its a right headache.. Try Grantmotorsport though he sorted mine out propper.. Andy

For prices im not going to post them up because even reminding me about them make me feel sick how much it cost but to give you a idea you could spend the same sort of money like getting a 1.8T put in your car or turbo charging you engine using audi quattro pistons which i think is a better option than a 1.8T conversion. Oh yeah... Anyway try Grantmotorsport.. hes the bollocks on the rollers. and check out how many Vw cup car engines he builds.. Andy
-
No probs mate .. thought i'd be cheeky and ask anyway.. cheers.. If you change your mind.. my mate owns a body shop.. so i could get it matched to your car if needs be.. Andy

What colour? I quite fancy putting an earlier bonnet on my G60, and seeing as I've got to take it off anyway to get the engine out, seems as good a time as any!  Okay mate well my cars green and i can see that your cars blue .. but i'm still up for it.. Andy. ****MOD EDIT****.....removed your previous post as it was near identical to this one-vr6storm
-
Well if any one wants to swap there late bulge bonnet for a early one i'm up for it.. Andy .

BANANA MAN, I dont think you want to race him mate .. If wher taking about the same chap.. he's now runnig a Toda racing cam kit and Honda Data ecu.. 12.8 sec he's spent 4 grand on the engine.. 270 BHP ITS QUICK.. I hate it but ist quick... arrh and loud

Powerflow are dont go over 2 and half inch and they cant mandrel bend the pipes .. I'm runing a big blower and want a 3inch system.. they dont seem very helpful either.. Andy
-
I take it your vote is with Hayward then?
-
Yeah I've seen it Kev.. but there charging £200 more than blue flame .. if there worth it i dont mind paying extra.. just wondered if any one had either one of the systems..?
-
Yep it makes a lot of noise....
-
Did they Cut and shut .. or did they mandrel bend the pipes :?: I havent heard much about blue flame :?: cheers
-
Sy_VW Cheers Mate That would be spot on if you could have a butchers.. I have two options drive up to Manchester to blue flame a 3 hours drive .. or Haywoods which is under a 1 hour away which would save me a lot of time.. petrol and probably my licence.. Yeh your right.... my freind has his type R Civic (sorry for swearing) and he cant stop raving on about his zorts ... If you could pop in and give me the low down it would be appreciated chap.. :D

Hi people :D Just a quick question ... I'm planning to get my exhaust rebuilt down pipe back by Hayward & Scott in Basildon, I've heard some good reports about them and they seem to be a very reputable company.. has any one here had any dealings with them :?:
-
How much did your kit cost .. and where did you get it from?? where did you mount it mate?? I've been looking to get an oil cooler for a while 8)
-

Quite alright, everyone's entitled to their own opinion! Glad you've had good results with your testing. I've seen two pace chargecoolers in action, one on a 2.0G60 and the other on a 300+bhp 1.8T and on both occasions, the level of cooling was way off what an intercooler would provide. In fact, on the 1.8T engine, a full size car radiator was used during road testing for the chargecooler and inlet charge temperature remained constant. It just simply wasn't up to the job of cooling the engine's charge. Utter cr#p for the money. And that was my learned opinion  Kev Kev I like conversations like this.. The testing we've done has involve a 4 core charge unit unlike the 2 core that you normally find on the Jab*a sport kits or such like.. your right there just not up to the job in my book.. where runing a kit that would be suited to a cossie 500.. but there's always the installation of the kit to think about eg rate collant around the system to fast and it wont cool down effiently to slow and you have heat soak ... but i wont bore you we should meet up and chat mate..
-
Hello mate.. I like this forum.. Kev me old bean .. i really have to disagree with your charge cooler theory .. we've done a little testing on a large core front mounted inter-coolers on 1.8t's, and a pace charge cooler.. you wouldn't image the amount of difference the charge cooler makes .. down side is the charge cooler cost twice as much .. even Dave Walker from cc was shocked with the result.. Andy ..

Well Andy to be honest I'm bias as i'm running a turbo .. :D
-
You Guys have enlightened me today .. I didn't realize the Vr was only 50 kg heavier .. Joe I take it you have a vr6 then mate.. :D Well Kev i think I'll go for the power root as suggested .. the reason why I brought the corrado was for a bit of comfort and style.. cant be going back to that bone shaker mk1 again ... Sy if you could find the weight it would be spot on chap cheers.. :) I'll have to get the car to a weigh bridge once its finished.. Andy.
-
Cheers chaps.. I was really hoping for a 1100kgs.. I'm a C new boy and just come from a mk1 16v so the C feels nice and stiff .. stiffer than a mk1 and 2 golf anyway .. but a bit on the fat side .. I luv it no end.. but i dont like my mates having the advantage.. any ideas on saving weight .. and no i dont mean the Aktins diet :D :?:

TURBO.. Every Time ... sorry you g60 owners those ladders scare me... I'm to paranoid i think ... it all depends on the compressor your run.. you can get a real small turbo that will spool up as well as a ladder..the turbo technology has really moved on .. try the new gt range from garret its just as good as the ihi gear and has a lot better flow the old T-series .. they a bit old hat know.. plus you don't need to rebuild them ... just bolt up and just play the evcr
-
Alright people .. I just wanted to know the weight of a g60 C..??
