Gaz, that mean that your car was unadaptable? also dosednt that also mean that all G60's will have this problem ? or are you electrics custom ?

(new to turbos/superchargers) I thought the supercharger was the better ? (not reliability ) or is that just at low speed high acceleration ? /me goes to do a google on supercharger theory :oops:

haha Try removing the rear seats ? Plus you got a good escuse to not give people lifts all the time !! lol I thought the G60 was much lighter? or is it just that the VR6 has it all in the front and the G60 is much more spread out? PS on car ads whats c/l ?

Im no car expert but i get a lot of time in a machining shop learning from my dad, getting another trade as well as my comp's. He's a qualified design engineer so he knows mechanics etc etc I cant be arsed to fraw a diagram, but if you pass air down a taper in a vortex fashion, then i think the cold air rush's around the outside (more dense) and the hot air circles in the middle (less dense). If you attach this to a compressor (and ive seen this done), not necessaarily a big one! and draw air off from the outside, then its COLD !!! the air taken from the middle was enough (when passed around a cup of water) to boil a cup full of water in about 5-6 seconds. Therefore i would guess the cold air is of the same magnitude!! This would work as you can get compressed air, its free, and if a charger/ram air was used you would get VERY cold ari VERY quick. Im not the mechanic my Dad is, so if ive just quoted the workings of one of the things youv mentioned above forgive me im still learning the good bits of tuning cars :twisted: And the figures may be a little inaccurate, BUT i know the potential is there, fine tuning could be hard though!!

Hia Im pretty much a n00b, and im ploughing through all the archives of information and a few things have made me think.. 1. Whats a G-Lader ? the supercharger ? (any reason for the name ? ie differnet models ?) 2. Whats diff. between G40 and G60 ? 3. Apart from all the 'check supercharger' comments, what other common maintance issues do you mean ? wiring/suspension/clutch/box ? its cropped up several times, so what do you all refer to pls ? 4. Approx how much is a custom remap compared to 'off the shelf' ? ( I wont hold you to figurees ) .. ARG wanter to ask more but going to get 2hr didconnect in a sec so this will be it for now Seems im one of a million asking about help buying a g6o lol Andy

Just looked at insurance quote, and i think im going to save for the G60, Tesco qutoed £1300 and im guessing that i could find it cheaper if i lookes around a little!! So i'll prob be posting after one in a month or two, when i get my moneys together and pass plus done, (not just for insurance) so watch this space! ..well not this particular one Andy

...wish i could get a VR6, if it meant saving upto 3k+ i think i would push my self for it, cut back on everything for a year or so....BUT im a 21 yr old student, small jobs and no NCD :? i think trying to insure a 1.8 16v is going to be a challenge! (bearing insurance is every year not just a one off) But trust me one day !!!
