Have just seen a 94 8V 'rado for sale and on the interior shot of the rear bench there is no centre arm rest, it isn't missing, its just not designed into the seat, I have never seen one without, and was just wondering if the 8v came like this or has someone put a different rear bench in? cheers mart

  7. Has that car been repsrayed in a different shade of white, as it looks like it has a bit of a silver in it, or is it just the grey sky reflecting off it?
  8. Haven't got pics of em al my cars but have a had a few, 1st car 1.4 escort followed by 1.4 205, then came my 1st golf, a grey mk2 1.8gl 5 door. Next was my 1st gti, a Black Mk1 gti, loved this car until i had a new engine fitted by some cowboy vw 'specialist', it was back n forth to them so much got so fecked off with them went out and brought this : Corrado92.pdfenginebay.jpg[/attachment:w23evpfo] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf306 S16 Rolling shell 001.jpg[/attachment:w23evpfo] Loved that car just never had the money to fix it once i broke it, still have most of it in bits at a mates house, Was one of the best handling fwd cars i've driven. After that had a couple of mk2golfs, 2 1.6's and a gti thought 2 of them were brought cheap fixed up and sold, then i was skint and brought a few £200 run arounds incl nissan primera 2L 16v, a 1.1 polo and a 309 diesel, but last year got another VW : climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfFront_vr6_.jpg[/attachment:w23evpfo] Brought it for £400 and ran it for 6 months until i moved out to germany 18 months ago, wasn't a minty by far but provided me with many smiles, especially that engine note, loved it, which is why when i get back from germay in april i'm after another vr6 but this time a rado as i've always loved em I've also got this : 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC08794.JPG[/attachment:w23evpfo] pembreybay5.jpg[/attachment:w23evpfo] It's me and my old man's, he drives i passenger, although i'm gonna start driving it next year which i can't wait for. It's a formula 1 sidecar running a yamaha R1 on flat slides, its a feckin rocket ship gives me such a buzz racing it and has kept me sane while i haven't had a car for the last 18months, although only being able to fly home once a month to race sucks but ya can't have everything i spose Mart :D
  9. Have to agree with u carpoid, not that i'm knocking anybody because i've enjoyed looking through the thread and seein what people have done, but after reading through i would say its hard to get a definative answer to what the rado will look like at certain height drops and to how much it will rub etc due to the fact that there is more than just the height of the suspension that effects the overall look and height of the car. A 40mm drop on 15's will not look the same as a 40mm drop on 17's due to the fact that the distance from centre of hub to outer of rim is 1" difference, so ignoring the profile of the tyre, the hub will therefore sit 1" higher off the ground on 17's than it would on 15's, if it had 16's fitted there would be 0.5" difference. Next the tyre proile effects the height, a 40 profile would cause the hub to sit lower to the ground than a 50 profile would. Once thing to remember is the profile measurement is not in mm its is a percentage of the tyre's width so therefore a 205/45 would not have the same size sidewall as a 195/45, so again the hub would sit at a slightly different height although this is less marginal than the difference in wheel size. Another thing to maybe consider, and i'm not too sure about this because my rado knowledge isn't too indepth yet but different models may have different ride heights as standard, can anyone confirm this for me please? As for the problem of rubbing arches, some people seem to have slammed with no problem and others have had a nightmare with rubbing, but something to think about here is again down to wheel choice and size, and not just diameter but offset and tyre width, a 15 with the wrong offset might rub more than a 17 with the correct offset, but the offset can be altered to help avoid rubbing if a serious slamming is the order of the day, but also arch rolling may come into play here as well. Sorry if i'm goin over stuff that most people already know but thought it might help clarify a few things for those that don't. If goin down the coilover route i would say the above don't need as much consideration as u can adjust it too get the look u want but if buyin a kit or springs with no adjustability then the above are more important to take into consideration. Hope this helps for anybody considering how they want to lower they're rado and has been confused due to a 40mm drop looking very different on one car to the other. cheers mart

    3 month detail!

 FFS that is just going way too far, that guy has serious problems :cuckoo: I like to take care and detail my car but not too that extreme, 51 layers of wax for Feck's sake :camp: They guys that did all the work for his engine bay must have been drivin mad by him, i mean i think that the bay looks really good, well apart form the heat shield, and the quality of work is great but rest of what he's done is just sad... oh well, like someone else said at least he isn't causing anyone harm...
