  1. ok so i got the bonnet open and i realised that the cable had just become slack so i tightened it at the latch on the passengers side, but now the bonnet pops open on the drivers side while driveing along, is it just a matter of slighly slacking the cable again?
  2. Right this is my final post on this bloody annoying subject iam hopeing someone out there as had this problem!! Ok.... my coolant temp gauge has a bloody mind of its own, when the car is started no matter if its cold or hot the gauge will go up to 110c and the LED will flash when i start to drive the car the LED will continue to flash but as soon as i stop at traffic lights for example and let the car idle the LED will stop flashing and the needle will drop ever so slightly but as soon as i touch the throttle the LED will flash again and the needle will rise again. I have changed the thermostat the houseing the three thermo switches the header tank and the coolant temp gauge but nothing has helped, could it be the yellow thermostat sender i was given a black one from VW could this be at fault? this is really starting to annoy me now i dont know what else to change...Waterpump? Radiator? Anyone got any suggestions before i have to take it to a garage :( Cheers Paul
  3. Ill have a fiddle and see, is there any other sensors that could be replaced? could it be a dodgy waterpump.... Och well aye you are a bit far away don't reckon there is anyone on the forum from my neck of the woods, thanks for the advice though mate

  5. how did he go about fixing that? just a new switch? sometimes though if you let the engine idle it will stop flashing and the needle will move down abit but as soon as you touch the throttle it will flash again and rise up i have no idea what could be causeing it
  6. Its a brand new coolant bottle i though it was that aswell but no nothing, could it be the connection to the bottle? iam really stumpted on this one i have ordered a new yellow sensor to see if that will help.
  7. I dont know if it is the sensor now, as soon as i start the car the temp gauge will rise to 110c straight away and the LED will flash, it continues to do this throughout the time the engine is on, i have put new clocks in changed the three sensor i have noo idea why the hell it is doing it, U got any ideas mate?

  11. Right i have now put in a new temperature gauge, the temp will now sit at 110c is this just because the blue sensor on the thermostat houseing is overreading the actual temp? i have heard this happens what would be the soloution? the fans come on as they should,
