Right got the new circuit board of shaung60 and light still dosn't work GRR!!! :mad2: :mad2: had to cancel my MOT for 2morrow, anyone got any ideas what could be causeing this anoying little problem?

Will a new circuit board do the trick to make it work again?? starting to get paranoid

Dnt think its the switch it works fine when it comes on the light comes on etc, Has any one got the circuit board that the two bulbs sit in (fog light and one reverse bulb) thinking this could be faulty if anyone has got one for sale could you let me know asap please. cheers Paul

hi Booked my MOT for next saturday so i thought i would give the car a once over checking lights etc, i was checking the fogs and noticed the rear wasnt working so just thought the bulb had blown so i changed the bulb and still no light comeing on :confused4: , anyone got any advice what this could be? so its worth checking the plugs? whats the easyest way of getting the ht leads off the top of the plugs i dnt have the little tool to get them off. cheers

my ht leads are not even a year old, i had the coilpack off a few weeks ago and it looked fairly new and was in good condition but theres no harm in checking again. cheers

Driveing my corrado vr6 today as i took off from a roundabout i heard like a poping noise and the car started to run like a bag of sh#t this is the third time it has done it, so this afteernoon i got the car pluged in2 VAG-COM and there was no faults showing, the first time it done it the camshaft sensor was at fault the second time i changed the fuel fillter and that seemed to do the trick i thought it could have something to do with the timmeing chains but my mechanic was adamant that this was not the case and that they dont need changed but iam not so sure :confused4: , iam going to clean the fuel pump and probally change the fillter again and check the plugs, anyone who has got any advice is much appreciated, sorry for posting this again. thanks paul

Can the chains actually snap?

This may sound stupid :confused4: but what is the thermostat and what does it do? Where abouts is it? Is it a fairly straight forward job to fix? Was out in the car tonight and cruiseing around town the engine seemed fairly hot water temp over 100c, sorry if this has been asked cheers

the water temp rises up to just over a 100c while in traffic then the fans kick in as the should to cool it, just a bit paranoid as iam takeing the car down south in a couple of weeks. cheers

Sorry guys this has probbaly been covered so many times but i cant find the post on here so i thought i would just ask instaed. What should the engine temp and oil temp be while cruiseing at about 70/80mph, my vr reads at about just under 100c and oil at about 102c is it runnring to hot? sorry for askeing guys. Cheers

Did it start running better after you had changed the sensor ed?

I have started to notice that my rear spolier gets stuck half way up when its riseing it stops for a couple of seconds then it rises to its fully upright position, Is there any way of getting in at the spoiler to put wd40 on it to try and make it run smoother? Or is the motor on its way out? cheers Paul

Nice c james love the wheels, 32.5mpg that aint bad i drove to glasgow last week in my vr and it said i was getting 36.8mpg at a steady 70/80mph :grin: dont belive that was correct though lol anyway nice car mate cheers paul

Yeah ed the sensor is located just above the coilpack on the later vr engines, on the early ones i dont have a clue sorry, someone should be able to help though, good luck

Its the impulse sensor you need ed, fairly easy job to do, while you have all the plastics off take a good look at your coilpack for any cracks or wear etc, has the car still got its original ht leads?

When my sensor had gone the revs were very juddery at low revs, if i was to put the car in 4th or 5th gear at about 30mph to 40mph it would judder quite badly but in the higher revs it seemed ok its like the car is running on only 4 or 5 cylinders, best advice if you know someone with another vr try swapping the sensors around to see if it could be the problem or take it down to your local specialist and plug it into the computer.

My vr had those same sypmtoms i took it to my local specialist plugged it into the computer and it came up with a camshaft sensor fault so i changed the camshaft sensor which is located under the plastics on the right hand side of the head just above the coilpack pretty simple job changed the sensor and she ran fine,sensor is about 40quid from your local stealers. cheers

Cheers guys, how much roughly would i be expecting to pay for all the the work?

Is it possible to change the top tennisioners and pads ect on a vr6 without haveing to change the whole chains thinking about replaceing them but cant really afford to replace the whole chains it has a 145k on it,any advice appreciated.cheers

Went to start the car today it had been left standing for 4 days as i have been away, noticed a bit of white smoke from the tailpipe and a bit of water aswell, it normally puts out a bit of white smoke when its cold so i wasnt 2 worried took the car 4 a spin 4 5mins and there was slight witeness under the oil cap and nothing under the colant cap when i got back and had a check, left the car running to warm up checked the oil cap again and it was black, i dont know if this is possibley the start of head gasket failure?? any advice would be handy.
