  1. Hi, i think i'm going to buy the speakers in the link below as a cheap replacement for the factory front speakers and plan on mounting the tweets in the dash speaker grills. I know a few of you have done this with good results so what i'd like to know is how you wire the tweeters, do you use the existing wire or run the new cable through the dash to the door/crossover, and if it's the latter is it a pig of a job? Also where is a good place to mount the crossovers? I don't really want them on display. Cheers http://www.bassjunkies.com/audio/jbl-gto507c
  2. They're listed on the Demon Tweeks website, or am i missing the point? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ ... ORMINI001L
  3. Right, everyone stop panicing! i found it, it was the heater blower after all  . The water was running along above the glovebox undertray, and down various trunking and cables to the centre console! I work in a jet engine factory so i'm sure i can find something that'll seal it good'n proper! ......................................................
  4. I'm hi-jacking! I just managed to get the carpet dried out and scrubbed the green stains out (i think the carpet's shrunk a little) but with all the rain last night it's developed a wet patch :mad2: . It's in the front passenger footwell coming from the centre console, half way between the front edge of the passenger seat and firewall, in line with the gearstick. Any ideas? At first i thought it was the blower motor grill when the full footwell was wet, but that would be seeping in from the other side. I've done a search and from what i gather if it's the heater matrix then the driver footwell would be soaked? I've just finished night shift and i'm annoyed :(
  5. I'll check that connection out, 'sounds quite likely. I suppose i should change the coolant as well, as far as i know mud isn't very effective at keeping engines cool! Thanks for the advice!
  6. As odd as it sounds i was quite pleased with the test results, i bought the 'rado with no MOT and thought it'd need alot more! Emissions aside, i need to know what parts to buy, as the mechanic will obviously have lengths of standard brake pipes. A link to an online parts catalogue would be fine! Anyway, here's the list.. 7. I had a blast in it today and the light was on for the whole journey, about 5 miles, then i went into a shop for a few minutes and the light stayed off when i started the engine again. It doesn't bother me as the gauge works fine, 'just hope MOT man hasn't got an issue with it! :?
  8. I checked mine today, the light stayed flashing for over 5 minutes :( It could be the cololant though, it's kinda brown...
  9. Hmmm, quite possibly  , 'though i'm sure it's longer than 5 seconds, i'll check it out 8) Thanks for that :)
  10. Hi guys, whats happening is the water temperature light flashes when the engines just started from cold, and goes out after a while, but If the engines switched off and on again then it stays off. The temp gauge sits at about 90, and the fan comes on and off as it should. Any ideas? Or more to the point, how can i make it stop for the M.O.T. ? ...disconect the sensor? Cheers
  11. Nice job yacobwood, even my wife like's it! I'm deffo gona go down this route now after seeing the results, and also that it's been confirmed i'm not getting made redundant  'Just got to get this M.O.T. on tuesday out the way first, i know it needs a few things but fingers crossed not much!
  12. That's awesome like a hotdog! Cheers dude! White wheels on white cars FTW Yo! My first upgrade will be a new set of rubbers, to replace the barely legal odd ones that are on it lol, then get the wheels refurb'd. There's a place near me that do them for £30 each finished in standard or sparkling silver, but i'm not sure how much it costs to get them coloured...
  13. Hey everybody! I'm thinking of lowering the car and getting the wheels refurbed and done in white, is there anyone who could photoshop these mods for me? Thanks in advance 8) Also does anyone know the correct tyre size for these wheels? Cheers
  14. I reckon it'll need rear discs and possibly pads, and brake pipes for the MOT. Apparently the timings well out so i'll get that adjusted and see what the gasses are like. :? At the moment i'm Just planning to tidy it up, but in the future i hope to upgrade the suspension, get a light smoke window tint and a "performance" backbox. I'd also like a bucket seat but we'll see... Oh and upgrade the tracing paper speakers!
  15. Here's my beast! It does need a few things done for an MOT and a tidy up, but i can't complain considring it cost not much more than half a week's wage! Theres a bit of cosmetic damage on the front wing that i'll see to once it's on the road. The dreaded water leak! It seems to be contained in the passenger footwell, which indicates the blower is the suspect? The blower also whines for a few minutes when it's switched on.
  16. Hi everybody! I have an un-cut parcel shelf in the car, and from what i can gather it's a fairly rare thing to have? So should i cut 6x9 holes in it, or leave it be? It's kind of sagging in the middle at the back (of the car), so i'm not sure if it's worth saving
  17. Probably about 1992  I only got the car last week so i've got no idea of the history of it, unfortunatly :(
  18. To be honest i only checked one plug, there was a bitter cold wind blowing up my back . I can only see the blue smoke when i get out and look at the tailpipe when the cars idling, or if i stand outside the car and give it a rev, it's not big massive clouds that can be seen in the mirrors. It's also got a petrol'y smell when standing at the back of the car, and doesn't seem quite as bad once the engines heated up.
  19. It's possible you've replaced a double filament bulb with a single filament one, or vice versa. I done that on my Nova years ago and i didn't notice for ages!
  20. The lever's not for budging, it even made my fingers go white! I might have another go at it now i know what it's for! Thanks bud!
  21. Cool, cheers mate. I'll get it checked at the weekend 8)
  22. Do Corrado's have adjustable steering wheels? Mine seems to be really low, but i noticed a lever to the left of it which looks like it's for changing the height, however it's solid and i don't want to risk breaking it just to see what it does!
  23. Hi folks, i had a tinker with the Corrado earlier and discovered a few things, one of which is black sooty deposits on the buisness end of the spark plugs. I knew there was a problem with the engine timing or the air/fuel mixture, as it starts and drives but when you put the foot down it splutters a wee bit then goes, also theres blue smoke from the exhaust. Is there any common faults i should check first on the 2.0 16v engine? It does have 161k miles on it! cheers 8)
