  2. Where is the best place to get EBC brakes, i've tried 3 places today and they all say they have stock on the website and after ringing up find out they aren't in stock, one of these was also putting stuff on ebay!!

I rang up ebcbrakesltd.co.uk and they have some in, just wondered if anyone had any experience of these??

    Ian

  3. Are rear hoses (specifically goodridge braided) the same across the board on Corrado's as i'm doing a vr6 brake upgrade and will obviously end up with vr6 front and backs if different

    Cheers

  4. the thing is if it was remotely racial if they are so adverse to the roof and hating britain why dont they just bugger off from where they originate from? because its too bloody good for them thats why

Sorry kip but not sure how to take some of the comments in your last post. Apologies if your anger made it sound more vitrolic that it should have been but at the end of the day we are all immigrants, nobody has occupied this land forever. As it happens I'm disgusted with this Countries foreign policy and open support of Terrorist States. But does that mean I should leave? I fail to see the connection between skin colour and the liking of the Union Jack either :camp:

You can only speculate what happened to the car, but the chances of it being due to the Union Jack and a Muslim/Arab (as I guessed thats what you meant) IMHO are slim to none. Whats more likely is a drunken person wanted to impress mates and picked on the oldest car which they thought no-one would care about.

I have nothing against you mr mccrotch but I think you should pick your words carefully before joining on the racist bandwagon

Where does something as heinous an accusation of the perpetrator being a muslim/arab have anything to do with it, he/she said 'if it was remotely racial' so i don't understand how you can tar them with the metaphorical paintbrush and possibly come to that assumption, if you wanted to be specific it could also be my friend from Lagos trying to sell me a car for £5000 and send me a cheque for £4900 it's ludicrous... it isn't 'if his anger made is sound more bitter than it should have been at all', it's more like you are trying to rotate the thread into something that is not and deriving from the true point of the sympathy this man should be recieving because someone (student or not, (yes welcome to the world of freedom they are also classed as a minority)) smashed in his car for no apparent reason, other than what can be speculated from the pictures which brings me neatly, back to the true point of the thread.

Devestated to hear about your car mate i'd be absolutely livid too, i have a friend who's car was at the bottom end of a wrestling match on his bonnect...

If i go past a car... Ford or not i have the respect of the world not to harm another persons property and whoever that was, must have probably been drunk and hopefully fell over and broke some bones on the way home.

  5. dunno how accurate it is but found this:

There are two sets of bolts down there, firstly the ones that attach through your carrier of choice through and screw into the actual hub itself, you should be able to use the same ones that came off the car when you demounted whatever brakes you had on previously.

If its the bolts that go through the brembo caliper and bolt into the caliper carrier then they are as rare as rocking horse poo, you willnot be able to find them outside of Seat or a Porsche dealer. You may be able to get some from a fasteners supplier but they will not be threaded all the way to the end.

This in itself is not a problem, OEM bolts have to be replaced every time they are torqued up which is annoying because they are stretch bolts that have a lesser tensile strength but are heat treated to make them more ductile so that they stretch instead of failing.

If you do use non OEM bolts its far from a problem just make sure that they are high quality bolts with the numbers 12.9 on top (tensile strength in tonnes)

The bolt spec is M12x1.5x 67 although 70's or 80's will do you may need to chop the 80's back a bit (perfectly normal)

999.067.050.09 is the porsche part number expect to pay 25 quid for OEM porsche

6KL615141 is the seat part number

If you do find some at a fasteners depot expect to pay 2 quid each

I have some I can get to you by weekend in the post unless you can collect from Preston

If Ive spent the last 2 paragraphs waffling about the wrong bolts - apologies!

The other ones are M12x1.5 x 35 and you shoud try allthreads in Preston who have some, they will not be shouldered like the originals so you'll need washers and spring washers.

    Hope that helps

  7. I just got a phone call from local garage about the parts corroded/wrong with my car the parts i can remember are as follows:

Both rear axle bushes (split or corroded can't remember what she said)

    Fuel filter corroded

Front brake hoses corroded (maybe rear as well)

Front gasket leak (i think that's what she said)

Can someone give me a clue of how much this will set me back if i did it myself?

(Put in drivetrain because most is drivetrain)

  8. I'm replacing the rocker cover, upper and lower intake manifolds on my 9a, i was wondering which gaskets i need to replace, i have a new rocker cover gasket and also one that looks like it would be for some pipes?

I was wondering which other ones would be needed to do a reseal from the rocker cover up?
