  1. Corrado's will be going up in value when we start seeing less and less of them on the road. They made 380,000 Karman Ghias and 35 years after the last one rolled out, they are seriously collectable and seriously hard to find. How many Corrado's did they make? Less than 100,000 I think. I think the stockers will ultimately be worth more, the band of potential buyers narrows with each modification. All IMHO.
  2. Exactly, I didn't care 2 days ago when some Mitsubushi evo X left me and my VR6 going up a hill. I know us 'rado's are more stylish and discerning, if the Evo is microwave meals from Aldi, then the 'rado is organic foods from the foodhall at Harvey Nicks.
  3. Unless you have a real need for the quattro four wheel drive and all that ground clearance, then get a regular height Audi A6 avant. I had a 1999 1.9tdi estate, lovely reliable load lugger, I gave it to my sister and her husband, as they have 2 small children. If you go for the tiptronic autobox, give it a proper test (30 mins minimum) as when they get warm, they jump out of gear. There is an Audi fix, but it will cost you big.
  4. It may have been impounded by the style police.... Well he/she should be happy if they got anywhere near 65 large for that. That's brand new 911 money.
  5. Derivative styling is nothing new and crosses brands and makes of cars. For every decade, the manufacturers are striving to get the same drag coefficients, same crash protection, same interior space and then they are designed by a handful of design studios. So no shock they look the same/similar Citroen Traction Avant from the 1930's Austin 10 from 1939 Peugeot 404 from the 1960's Austin Cambridge of the same era De Tomaso Deauville from the 1970's Jaguar XJ6 Alfasud Sprint Scirocco MK1 (Identical to the first car I ever owned  :) )
  6. Well hello from another Campaign owner. :)
  7. I will mention that to him when I see him at Santa Pod this coming weekend.
  8. So what did you think I'd look like then? Even uglier?
  9. It is very rickety indeed GaVR6in, the tower REALLY moves around when the top fuelers or the jet cars do their thing! The jet car creates so much force, that it kicks plugs out of walls & knocks the mixers, TV screens etc off the table. I will dig out some pictures from the tower and do it on another thread.
  10. I'm nearest the camera, in the tower at Santa Pod. More at Santa Pod On a boat between Venice and Murano Gloating a few years back when Man U were beaten by AC Milan
  11. This is my daily driver, economical with the 6 speed box, smooth and quiet on a long run, sideways oversteer action on demand. :D It is the poverty spec model of the IS200 range, so no leather, 16 inch wheels instead of everyone else's 17's and 18's. Rides more comfortably as a result though
  12. Thanks dude, I probably wont get a chance to have a go on the strip, as I will be working. I've done 18.04 in my old 1967 split screen camper van and a 15.7 in my 1968 Karmann Ghia, both times at Santa Pod. The Ghia had a broken nosecone at the time, gearchanges were very slow, I think maybe a second was wasted.
  13. I will be at GTI festival on the 29th, but will not be running my 'rado down the Santa Pod strip, as I will be working. I do some of the commentary and annoucing work and that Sunday is one of my gigs. Previous Pod experience tells me that my VR6 would be low 15's. I look forward to seeing some of your more modified motors giving it some in a safe environment. :D
  14. Some folk in car parks really really just do not care. They don't care about their own cars, so why would they care about anyone else's. My old custom VW was parked (just the once) in an open car park (Tesco's in Harlow) and cost me £400 to put right the dents down one side. :mad2: My Corrado has more than enough dents on it, will be rectified over time.
