  2. does the light and buzzer randomly come on yours aswell mate? Ive had a look and there is oil around the senders. maybe i should have replaced these when i had the front end off because it doesnt look easy
  3. no one have any ideas? i can go on one forum and someone will say the low pressure switch is connected to the buzzer aswell. it has come on once since i took the guy out but the engine sounds fine. The oil is clean and the levels are good.
  4. im selling my car at the moment and whilst out on a test drive the light and buzzer came on. After reading this link - http://vincewaldon.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=40&Itemid=28 it states that the low oil pressure sensor IS NOT connected to the buzzer, and only the light. The high oil pressure sensor is connected to both. Would this be correct? If so, what would be the cause of the buzzer coming on? I had been driving the car pretty hard and got the oil temp to around 110, the guy then got in and drove it but he was taking it really steady which was when the light came on.
  5. it was an airlock and all sorted now, cheers!
  6. its a vr6 mate. ive been told it might be a mega airlock so what im going to do is drop the water and start from scratch with fresh coolant
  7. My car overheated today(vr6)(well got to 110 on the temp gauge) and after discovering i forgot to plug in the fan motor! i refilled with water and was on my way. when i got home i was bleeding the system through and noticed the tank kept overflowing as the engine was getting hotter, then dropping right down to near empty when the fans kicked in. Ive been flushing the coolant alot recently after doing the waterpump and rad etc, and this has never happened before. The fan kicks in at the right time aswell can anyone shed any light on this as I have my car up for sale and want to get it sorted out! cheers
  8. yes put gasket sealer around the thermostat housing. they are a pain in the arse to seal
  9. this week ive had the front end off and replaced the aux belt tensioner and pulley, crackpipe, thermostat housing, thermostat, sensors housing, radiator and today i changed the waterpump and relocated the washerfluid bottle. tomorrow i will refill the coolant and see how many leaks there are
  10. the engine will naturally move under load. its all down to how much movement there is mate
  11. thanks mate, ive sent him a message ---------- Post added at 07:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 AM ---------- im going to buy a waterpump aswell. may aswell whilst ive got easy access to the front mount
  12. i got a neuspeed stat. the one in that kit will be a backup, but i will do as you say. i dont fancy taking all that apart again with the front end back on
  13. bought. only leaves the rad, i heard the gsf ones aren't that good so i will bite the bullet and get one from tps. should i be sitting down when i make the call?
  14. have you bought those parts for your car? seems too good a deal
  15. hi, i need to source a few parts, ill get a quote from tps aswell but whilst im online i may aswell have a look around. i need: vr6 rad thermostat housing thermostat (lower opening temp if recommended?) crack pipe does anyone have any recommended websites they use for parts like this? i dont want to buy the billet crack pipe btw! cheers
  16. all sorted now. turns out the horn i have needed a seperate earth
  17. ill have a look, by slip ring do you mean the silver ring with a tab sticking out? if i touch the brown wire from the boss against metal the horn sounds so i know thats fine. cheers
  18. hi, ive fitted a momo steering wheel and boss but the horn doesnt work. ive got one wire that comes from inside the boss (i think this is the live) but nothing else - this is plugged into the back of the horn. am i supposed to wire in a ground somewhere or am i missing something? cheers
  19. it was set to thread title in ascending order so i have changed it around and everything is up to date. thanks
  20. on the first page of the forum all im getting are threads dating back to 2005/2006 with the odd one or two from 2011. as far as i know its only this forum, the rest are all up to date. ive tried refreshing etc anyone else had this problem?
  21. if youve got a vr6, 9j et15 is abit more work to fit right so rolled arches and a small flare wont hurt on the front, and tyres that stretch well like falken 912 but i know on 9j et25 it helps to have a bit of camber to get them under the arches comfortably
  22. i dont know what happened there. this thread was on the first page :s
  23. i got mine from the same bloke. out of interest what colour wires did you tap into from the factory loom? cheers
  24. t-cut is crap. get on detailingworld and ask for some advice but i think youve got the jist of it.
