Check bearing play, Loose wheel bolts and driveshaft UV joints. Those are the most common culprits.

The latest Practical Classics price guide has slashed their VR6 prices by about £500, Rough ones £1100, good ones £3200, concours £5000. SELL SELL SELL. NO. BUY BUY BUY. :confused4:
-
The beam axle I offered has stub axles on it if you still need em.
-
You'll always need longer bolts with spacers, just add the thickness of the spacer to the length of the shaft of the OE bolt to give the length required. I'd get hubcentric spacers every time if I needed anything over 10mm. Is that negative camberor is the car on a slope? NC could cause rubbing on the inside of the wheel at the top as well.
-
Bad luck mate. If you need it I've got a spare rear beam you can have for nowt.

History shows that good looking cars which are quick for their time and have any sort of rarity value will eventually fetch sensible amounta. Couple that with the cache the Corrado has as a "neo-classic" and we could be looking at big money for our cars in the future but not for a good few years yet. Buy a poor example now and it keep for 15 years in a barn, it'll still be worth more than you payed. Unless the government ban petrol or cars older than 6 months or something.

Practical Classics price guide has the VR6 at £1400 for a rough one, £3500 for a good car and £5500 for concours, IIRC. These prices are about 20% down on 18 months ago.

My MG is 5 years older than me, if it had been subject to the scrappage shambles it would have been scrapped when I was 5, not restored for me to enjoy. The mindless destruction of history and culture is socially unacceptable so why is it encouraged with cars? :bad-words:

Waxoyl is the stuff, I put a blob on exposed nuts and bolt heads, clean it off with solvent years later and you'll be presented with a nice shiny bolt. :D you can get it in an aerosol too, very useful stuff.
-
If you've got a distributor drive then I reckon Lumenition have loads of bits for optical and infra-red spark distribution, definately worth look. Works on the MG and that is ECU free.

yeah, the light should stay on if there is an ABS fault. Does your ABS work now? If not it could be the bulb in the warning light.
-
Carbs do the same job as fuel injection and should produce the same power if you use suitable carbs and spend a lot of time experimenting with different needles and jets to suit the engine. I'd bear in mind that if your carbs are too big for top end power it'll idle like a bag of bolts. Anyone remember the Chrysler Sunbeam ti? :(
-
I had the same problem, it only lasted about a week before the ABS light came on permanently and the juddering stopped. New rear sensor solved it all and I haven't had the problem since. :)
-
IIRC 8mm will not be hubcentric, 15mm should have a lip to centre the wheel correctly which will put less stress on the bolts as they are not the only thing holding the wheel on and in place. Go big!!

Mine is tilted very slightly to the left but only since I replaced the gearbox mount, it used to tilt right. Could be the engine mounts?

Greyhound + Corrado : anyone managed to fit together?
D-Pete replied to HiAsAKite's topic in General Car Chat
My g/f had a little bit of strapping looped around the seatbelt then clipped to the collar of her collie to keep him under control in her mx-5. Very simple but quite effective. -
the word dream in the title explains all. Amen to that!!
-
W12 quad turbo, mid mounted obviously. :D If were talking under the bonnet then I guess I'll just have buy a bigger shoe horn.
-
Saturday morning a bloke came round and gave me a card for his window cleaning business, just before he turned to leave he simply said "Nice car mate". Made me smile, even rusty, dented Corrados get props. :notworthy:
-
Ha Ha, I shouldn't laugh but I think you may discovered that as soon as you fix something on the C, something else will break. Welcome to Corrado ownership, but remember, very few people have a car better looking than yours and in 15 years they might be worth a fortune. Keep the Faith.
-
Loose centre console is not uncommon, there is a thread on the fix you can do on here somewhere.
-
Brilliant, I'm pleased for you, no one should have to drive a KA. You're going to love the VR, I love mine.

Type or copy and paste "colour coded number plate surround" into the search, plentiful pics and opinions await.
-
17"s do fit. you can also fit 312mm brakes under them. :D
-
Those won't fit without modification, they are PCD 112, Corrados are 100. 17" will fit though, 5x100 for VR6, 4x100 for the rest.
