  1. I ve got vag-com on my laptop and the obd2 cable but its no good as the diagnostic port in the dash is not obd2. I need to find out what management its running and get the according cable. I believe its running Qpeng but how can I verify this? here is a video of the engine when I try to start it. its turning over and when I feather the accelerator real quick it starts to turn over faster and faster before it gets slow again. once it even started after ive been turning it over for 2 minutes whilst feathering the throttle quickly http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o87/669hoff/?action=view&current=VIDEO0014.mp4
  2. cheers for the link! some really good info there. here are some pics of it: so today i put a new crank sensor in and it didn't make a difference. what a waste of time, it was hard to get out but to put it back in I had to take the radiator, oil filter and oil cooler off, friggin nightmare. right, temp sensor next :(
  3. cheers, I got the sensor out eventually but the end of the bolt stripped :( I got my new crank sensor delivered yesterday but had to go to the stealers get the bolt as it turns out to be a friggin M7! WTF? honestly what is the ****ing point of that, I looked at the crank sensor on my vr6 and it looks similar but its held in with an M6. whats the reason for having an m6 in a vr6 and anM7 in a 1.8t? ah I know, must be the boost :D also i got some material for making a little heat shield around the starter motor, if that doesn't help the hot start issues I ll make some cold air ducting to the starter.
  4. Im now pretty sure its the crank sensor thats gone, its got spark and fuel and it turns over for ever but doesnt start. it doesnt make a difference with the crank sensor connected or not. does that sound about right? Im just removing it but its pretty stuck in there :(
  5. one of my mates reckons all 4 coilpacks have gone but that seems highly unlikely to me as was was running fine before I switched it off the last time or could that be it?
  6. it started fine again yesterday morning, drove it around for a bit and it started fine the next couple of times. got in it this morning and it was a bit hard to start but it started. drove to uni, parked it up, came back 4 hours later and it was really hard to start, took about 12 attemts. drove it around for a bit and it goes really well! came home and parked it up, tried to start it this evening and after 15 attempts i had emptied the battery. took it out straight away and put it on charge. im gone rule out immobiliser because it has only got one which cuts the fuel pump and i could definitely hear it when i was trying to start it as it is very noisy! could that be a problem with the fuel pump as its still the KR one that was originally in the car and it is really noisy now. im going to check spark tomorrow. anymore ideas? cheers Seb
  7. Right, today I bought a 1.8t 20v converted corrado. test drove it and it started fine, drove it all the way back home. when I tried to start it again, nothing! the starter doesn't even click, so its not stuck. when I turn the ignition on the fuel pump comes on, you can hear it buzzing away. then when I try to start it, the pitch of the fuel pump buzzing changes but nothing happens. has anyone had this problem before? my mate had a similar thing on his mk2 16v, he ended up making a heat shield for the starter.
  8. Heres a couple of mine on RM`s... dont know how much ive lowered it by..
  9. Dark Burgandy Pearl (I think) one in Winchester on Romsey Road, Monday lunchtime, they flashed. I woke up just in time to wave back. That would of been me  My mates thought i was a bit strange... haha. Nice Rado mate.
